Since art school, I have avoided painting landscapes because they always involve water. These tutorials have changed everything for me. Thanks.
Great!!! And thanks for letting me/us know :-)))
My goodness, I'm getting goosebumps, this is so beautifully breathtakingly realistic!
Thank you so much Rashmi :-)))

It's like I can hear the sound of the waves crashing into each other as I emphasize this portrait. Inspiring and incredible. Very good!
Thanks a lot :-)))
Sehr gute Beschreibung in englisch
I can't believe how you made it look so much easier than it is. Your voice is also very relaxing. I watched the entire video without skipping one second because I am so fascinated by the beautiful scene you just created in front of our eyes.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment :-)))
Word. I just tried to do this painting and I cannot get it to look anywhere near as good 🤣
@@lrodenlr keep on practicing 🙂 it will not come over night 🙂
@@lrodenlr i too tried but...
@@brennerfineart xlntissimmo !! Are you working on canvas or ? substrate. I don't know if taping the horizon line with masking tape will work on heavier paper.
I’m about to paint lake water with a kayak and this is the best example I have seen. Wish me luck!
Hi Jennifer, thanks for your nice words :-)))) And I wish you gonna nail the kayak painting :-))))
@@brennerfineart update- water turned out beyond what I ever thought I could do! Everyone is asking how I did it so sharing your tutorial!
@@jenniferbl8011 Thank you Jennifer :-)))) And great that the water came out the way you wanted to have it (or even better) :-)))
Good luck!!!! 👍 If you love it, that's all that matters.
Have fun! He really has that water twinkling!

Beautiful, I love your techniques. Thanks!
Wow, I’m so amazed by how you made this painting come to life so early on in your process. Can’t wait to see the final result 🤩
Thank you :-)))
This is so realistic! I live on the South African South Coast approx 500m from the sea and this is exactly what I see on a moonlit night... I love it!😍
Thank you Het :-))) I would LOVE!!!! to live at the coast of any warm sea...REALLY love the sea (I do some scuba and freediving in my sparetime whenever I get the chance to do so, even in the VERY cold lakes here in Germany :-))))
@@monsters_are_human this is not a night scene...I used a photo reference here that you can have a look at so you will see that the sea truly had this very dark colour. Just give me your email and I will send you the link.
Well I have just started acrylic painting and mostly I spend time on looking at painting videos instead painting 😁
I must say your painting is just beautiful 🤩
It really inspires people to paint and I love the way explain the process to us.
Thank you 😊
Thanks a lot :-))) I have to admit, I also love to watch painting videos and often get carried away NOT painting myself but instead watching another of these great videos ;-))))
I have many paintings in my heart and mind and most of them are around the sea. Thank you for this tutorial. I am no longer afraid of the water. I also love to swim. Lol

Smiling and I am just the same! I started learning in recent years but like you I spend more time watching tutorials lol 😂Amazing painting, definitely inspired to give it a go. Nice calming video💖💞
@@janvanwyck876 Great :-))))
I like to see that your technique for painting sea water is very good and the paintings you make are perfect
Thank you so much :-)))
FANTASTIC!!! It was mesmerizing to watch. I love how you began each step detailing what you're doing and the effect you want to achieve. Yet, we get to see the progress with the little 'jumps' you make in the video. I also learned how, when, and why to use a dry brush and the different effects that can be achieved. It was fascinating. I watched and was surprised at how many times I had to tell myself "Of Course"! It all made so much sense when you demonstrated it, even to this 73 year old who has the time and willingness but is only learning the basics.
THANK YOU so very much! Incidentally, your calm voice that is so easy to listen to, also instills the patience needed to do such gorgeous and realistic art. Your English is also VERY good and easy to understand. I already have all the supplies and can't wait to get started!
Thank you for your great feedback, so glad you like this video :-))) And great that you did learn a bit watching it :-)))
I cant express how grateful i am for you demonstrating this.
Glad that you like this little tutorial so much :-)))))))
If I hadn't just watched you painting it, I'd have been convinced the thumbnail was a photograph. You have a real talent. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us.
Thank you so much :-)))
I do not have the patience to attempt this but it is incredible! I can't believe how real it looks!
Thanks a lot :-)))

Beautiful! You are a natural teacher too. Such a calm, kind voice. Very inspiring.

Absolutely breath taking. You are blessed to have such talent.

I find myself relaxed watching you paint, like I did when I used to watch the late Bob Ross (may he rest in peace) when I was a kid. You're truly talented. Thanks
Thank you so much! This is truly a big honour to be mentioned in the same context with one of the greatest of all times!
It is a great joy to watch an artist creating something so beautiful
Thank you!
Even mixing colors seems to be a gift. It's fascinating how the realism of the right mix of colors, consistency and technique make in making it look like the real thing.
I can assure you, colour mixing is a skill you can learn. This actually the easier part of painting...when you are patient enough you really are able to mix the exact colour you need, even if it may take a while to fine tune the pool of colour.
@@brennerfineart I appreciate your modesty and encouragement, yet I do believe each painter has different skills and yours are immensely above many I've seen.
@@digging4pearls961 Thank you! But again - its mostly training...its really not just a god given talent...yes, I picked up drawing and painting quickly. But I am pretty sure, nearly anyone who is willing to invest some time can learn how to paint like I did in this video here. It`s really not that difficult or over the top high tech application of the colour. Believe me, this is really not out of the world for most of the people that like to learn how to paint :-))))
@@brennerfineart 🙂👍
So lovely to watch your method of painting, so calming and you make it look so easy, and it turns out so wonderfully real looking. Truly you are a marvelous painter. Thank you
Thank you so much Carol :-)))
Some paintings are so real that it becomes difficult to differentiate between the drawn picture and painting.

I have finally gotten the courage up to attempt to do this piece. Thank you for providing wonderful example and easy to follow method! I've only been oil painting for about 6 months. This is really taking me to another level. Thank you from my soul being 💕

This is a really beautiful painting you have made!... the glitter on the waves from the sun is magic!... well done!..⚘

Thank you for this tutorial! I tried this water in acrylics, without the sky, as I was just practicing water on my paper for acrylics. I appreciate the lessons.

The new Bob Ross!!
Thank you! Big honour for me to be named in one sentence with one of the grandmasters!!!
I just painted this! It was my first time using oils! I’m so happy with my result! Thank you so much, I will do your clouds tutorial next⛅️
Great :-))) And please let me know how the cloud painting came out :-)))
You should use acrylic..... It's is so much easier to use ...... And you will do much better !!!!!!!
@@brennerfineart This is great, I have attempted it twice but can not get the waves to look like waves. What is the trick there?
@@user-fm9gc7dh8c The trick is to practice hard - you can not expect to get the same result without the adequate amount of practice. Just like anything else in life - if you want to master something it takes dedication and practice. One thing - just really try to follow me step by step...and really try to do the exact same thing. That is something that people very often get wrong...they THINK they follow a tutorial but they somehow "wander off"...just like when you try to copy a photo onto the canvas - stay as close as possible and try to understand whats going on. And you will pick up how to paint this topic a lot faster!
@@brennerfineart Very wise words. Many people rush and skip processes, not just in art, but in life. Then they wonder why they (and their life) hasn’t improved.
Man, I really enjoy watching your videos. I had a bad migraine today and while watching, your relaxing voice helped ease the pain while I learned your technique. I LOVE your tutorials. Thank you SO much for sharing your gift and knowledge.

Wow! Che artista! Tanti complimenti.
Mille Grazie :-)))
my eyes must have dilated because this was amazing
Thank you so much :-)))
How this isn't a photograph - is beyond me. Amazing realism
Thank you!
The first one he shows is a photograph I believe, he based his painting off of it. I did the same thing, I sat there staring at the photograph in absolute awe trying to comprehend how that was a painting until I realized it was a photo for inspiration. The end result of the painting is still absolutely beautiful
Thank you for posting this video! Ive never painted before and i tried your technique. I love it!
Thank you Heila, you`re welcome :-)))
Nice simple techniques, but soo effective. Thanks for this, I've learned a great deal from you 😁❤

That is absolutely fantastic. It’s amazing how our brains “fill in the gaps” so to speak.
Thank you so much :-)))
You are a wonderful teacher! I wondered how to make the sunlight sparkle in the water and now I know how! Thank you!
Thank you Linda, you`re welcome :-)))
Many thanks for taking the time to reply, keep up the outstanding work. The tip on finding the right shade of colour with the finger circle is so clever and works so well.
You`re welcome :-))) The trick is not my trick (I think artists do this now for thousands of years already ;-))) but it still is one of the easiest ways to get the colour right - just so simple and it just works all the time :-)))
I can't tell if there is an easy way to do this.
Perfect video for newbies and some artists who needs this

Absolutely stunning! I'll never get tired of your water tutorials. Thanks so much for showing this technique. I'm excited (still scared though) to try it out. I'm doing my research by watching all your water videos over and over before I paint a sunset beach painting for a friend.
Thank you Rebecca :-))) Give it a try - it`s really not that difficult, just be careful and watch the consistency of the paint and try to build it up slowly not going "all in" on the first approach :-)))
@@brennerfineart thank you! I will be sure to take care with that 😊
Me to! Lol

Thank you Phil, yes give it a try, it`s not that difficult :-)))
The harder part in my opinion would be the waves further away. To capture the detail at distances is pretty hard. Brilliant art work man.

Thank you so much Fransisca :-)))
Wow, some people just have the most insane talent. Blows my mind that someone could actually paint this. To say this is exceptionally well done would be an understatement
Thank you :-)))) But it`s actually way more training and time spent in front of the easel than talent! work ethic overtakes sheer talent! Spending years in front of the easel is what makes you become really good, talent makes it just easier to pick up the skills but without investing the time pure talent is not getting really far.
Wow, this looks incredibly real i could even imagine the sea creatures under the water! Thanks for sharing. 😊

Certainly, by 8:30, the water already looks quite realistic. Awesome tutorial! I always WANT to paint a hyper realistic scene. But I’ve only accomplished that in my childhood and early adulthood. And only occasionally, @ that. I envy your talent, Brenner. But, I celebrate you, as well. Awesome lesson!
