Painting Tropical Shallow Water in Oils

- This painting demo shows how to paint realistic tropical shallow water in oils.
For this demo I painted a version of another waterscape of mine based on the photo I took on a clear morning at Clearwater Beach, Florida.
It took me 2 sessions (a week apart) x 4 hours to paint it on a 48x24 inches canvas, here you'll see the whole process time-lapsed (because I value your time) with the most interesting moments in real time.
Here I offer an insight into my technique and hope that all my art-friends will find it useful or at least entertaining.You're most welcome to try out the techniques I taught myself over the years. I also encourage you to go to the nearest beach and take your reference photos or videos.
For this demo I used the following colors:
titanium white, ultramarine blue, phtalo green(any green will do), Naples Yellow (cad.yellow light or medium will work, too) and burnt sienna. I also used Liquin as a medium (any oil or mineral spirits will work).

Thanks for video. Colors and paints, everything mixed on canvas, greatness of the artist marinist. It traces the thread of the sea through the outline with a brush, which makes the artist thoughtful in his work, remembering Aivazovsky.

Oh Eva, setting aside my love and adoration of the work, let me sing to you praises for the excellence of the mode and delivery of that instruction. THAT IS MARVELOUS, more please, I can't thank you enough, you have absolutely nailed it! So practically informative at each and every step. Also, the music - it's great, " Music sets the mood" and the tempo. So many youtube vids on so many things use music when they would be better without it, or use fast and loud - interrupting, distracting music when they are trying to educate the viewers, you can't take stuff in while being distracted, you can't focus, but the audio you chose is really nice and fitting, it gives the mind something while not taking it away, it's there, but doesn't call attention to itself, allowing the student to stay attentive to the teacher/subject/lesson. Credit where it's due - excellent, really, really excellent. If someone can't learn that subject from that vid and it's less than half an hour, than I can't see any hope for them. I'm in Australia [ Nanango ] and seeing the snow through your window in so surreal, thank you.
