Some thoughts for you: 1, Focus NOT living off of high glycemic carbs in your gut! MAINTAIN ENOUGH GLYCOGEN FOR THE FIRST HOUR OF EXERCISE AND THEN UTILIZE FAT STORES FOR EXERCISE PAST THAT POINT! The human body will always start with glycogen first, then carbs and food in the gut for exercise and then fat stores. So do light cardio for about 30 to 40 mins on an empty stomach and then 30 mins of weight training. 2, ALL MUST DO WEIGHT TRAINING BECAUSE IT'S MUSCLE THAT HOLDS UP PEOPLE'S BONES. 3, Avoid all processed foods because the natural minerals your body uses have been removed! 4, EVERY TIME YOU EAT MEAT PROTEIN, YOUR BODY IS GONNA MAKE FAT AND CHOLESTEROL. SO ONLY EAT THE AMOUNT OF MEAT YOUR ACTIVE LIFESTYLE REQUIRES! (People don't need much more than 1 gram of protein per 1 lb of lean body weight. A fit human weighing 180 lbs unless body building only needs about 75 grams of protein. 5, Highly limit anything with or made of cow's milk! Cow's milk initiates the BETA CELL DESTRUCTIVE PROCESS AND ALSO SLOWLY DESTROYS WOMEN'S OVARIES! UNLESS THE SCIENCE HAS CHANGED, BETA CELLS IN ONE'S PANCREAS ARE POST MIOTIC! IT MEANS THEY DON'T REPLICATE! 6, LIMIT OMEGA 6 FATS More Omega 6 than 3s will always cause disease! Always eat 3 parts Omega 3 fats to 1 part Omega 6! 7, There is so much info about Zenobiotics! I will leave it SUCCINCT AS POSSIBLE! DON"T EVER EAT WHEAT! 8, If it wasn't around 5,000 years ago it is guaranteed to be a slow acting toxin to us humans today! Sometimes, It can take years to repair the human lungs! IF IT'S A MAN MADE PRODUCT, GET ON YOUR RESPIRATOR FILTER AND GLOVES !!!!!!! AT ALL POSSIBLY, DON'T INHALE VAPORS OF CLEANING CHEMICALS, BLEACH, REFRIGERANTS, CAR EXHAUST, PAINT FUMES ETC ETC!

Dr. D'Agostino, Dr. Hyman & Dr. Seyfried are some of my favorites, Thomas! Even if your outlook on fat-adaptation & ketosis is modulating, I give you a lot of credit for hanging in there, trying to understand what is happening with popular food consumption and trying to get it right. Basically, I think producing ketones are good for people as is staying off too many carbs and dairy fats. Additionally, I know my body benefits from antioxidants that are also anti-carcinogenic and anti-mutagenic and many of these are found in fresh fruits with fiber. Maybe age has something to do with it, but as Dr. D'Agostino states and you well know, a little of these carbs/net-carbs can go a long way. Keep us posted.

One other issue (since a lot of people on keto aren't getting fiber in fruit or grains): If motility slows down and/or becomes toxic, simply fast with water for 12 - 24 hours, taking 2 acetaminophen and drink 2 tblsp of magnesium citrate fluid every 6 - 8 hours. No more 'hell on earth', Thomas! It is probably good to have a daily magnesium citrate/etc. supplement.

Magnificent! We appreciate more such videos with Dr D. However, if Thomas is having lower mental clarity with more carbs and needs 2d fasting to turn videos, this means that the brain is not metabolically flexible. It is not just muscles and metabolism of the body that need to be metabolically flexible but more, that of the brain. Major issue for us ex - diabetics. The moment we will realize that Keto is a therapeutic protocol, everything becomes clear: how to do it, what macros for what purpose, how long, what to do in maintenance (fully deLauer food list), why exercise and how with Keto, sleep (major with Keto/insulin), stress (same) how and why return to Keto again, all clear once you realize Keto acts has pharmacological effect to the body/brain.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I think it’s really important to make a distinction between people who don’t exercise and those who exercise regularly.
My guess is that carb tolerance is based on how much the person moves on a daily basis.
An extremely sedentary person doesn’t truly need any carbs at all while a professional athlete would greatly benefit from carbs before, during, and after exercise.

I train 4 days a week, and only noticed how carbs affected me when i cut right down on them, they made me feel ill, it took over 40 years to work this out, i feel so much better with little carb intake, i do have carb blow outs, but nothing like i used to eat before, maybe max 300 grams in any one day. I feel uneasy relaying on fat only, as i'm not sure what Fats to eat on what amounts.

Tried it and it is easier for me indeed to run on fat. So, what's the deal with "carb loading"? Is it rather for the majority addicted to carbs?

I am on Keto for 1y. I count macros or calorie no more, but I think I am eating 30-50g carbs per day. I do TRE 6:18. But I have a problem, I am in ketosis probably whole day (I using Acetrack and ketomojo) and if I exercise, my BG go up 110-126 and stays there. But my ketones are 1,5-2 anyways, what should be not normal (BG up, Ketones down). If I eat too much protein, this happens too. Is my body preferring fat and somewhat ignoring BG? Despite this, my HbA1c is still 4.8. I am worrying I overdoing something. Is this Dr Cywes insulin suppression ?

Your blood glucose is rising because your body is breaking down protein (muscle) - you'd benefit on some honey/fruit and/or increasing your protein pre workouts.

    •  4 місяці тому

@@The_Bearbarian From InBody results I do not think I am loosing muscle for gluconeogenesis , I am more worried I am eating too much protein and that is turned to glucose but in ketosis is insulin output suppressed and that leads to glucose rising.

      @The_Bearbarian 4 місяці тому

@ inbody won't show this number my dude. We're talking amino acids here. Gluconeogenysis isn't something to be worried about. Increase your cals and nail your rest.
If you genuinely are concerned, it may be worth putting some refeeds in. Ketosis isn't something you should constantly be in. That metabolic flexibility works both ways and many people end up insulin resistant because the refuse to acknowledge carbohydrates have benefits too.

    •  4 місяці тому

@@The_Bearbarian you are saying I am loosing muscle, also it must be to see on body composition. It is not, my muscle mass goes up.
My problem with glucose level is not insulin resistance, my fasting insulin is 5.7 and my HOMA-IR is 1.3.
My goal is not to be always in ketosis. But I am, that is my problem. And I am eating, relative seen, more carbs as people usually do on keto.
I had severe NAFLD, my ALT was 144 (upper range is 25) especially from fructose and than I was diagnosed with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. If I eat too many carbs, my health problems goes worse. Therefore I must be really cautious what I do. In this moment is my HbA1c 4.8, so my day glucose levels are in short term not acute problem yet. But I looking if some one has similar "problems".

I’ve been on a strict keto with no drinking for 11 days and I’ve only lost 1 pound at the moment doing 16/8 IF, to get myself ready for three day water fast. I guess that’s when the weight comes off. I’ve built a lot of muscle over the last two years in the gym, you could almost say I’m bulking. But being post menopausal, and the fat over the muscle just keeps growing as well as the muscle, I’m guessing it’s some kind of hormone thing. Are used to burn fat and used to be quite svelte. Hey there, I'm a lifelong epileptic. I'm 44 years old and had tried everything throughout my adult life. The only thing that has given me real relief from my epilepsy is carnivore - high fat. The epilepsy is 99% resolved - i think ill always be epileptic, i have to make sure im getting enough fat and mind my menstrual cycle because the hormones can be a trigger for women too. The panic attacks went away, the anxiety went away, the brain fog went away - and I didn't even know I had brain fog?? All my life I thought it was normal to feel the way I felt 🤦🏾‍♀️ I was so wrong... depression went away, night terrors went away, I could go on. Plus I dropped 70lb! Didn't think that would happen 🤷🏾‍♀️
So. I also have a daughter who has had three seizures. She's 15. She literally had them every September from 2016. I don't want her to live like how I did with epilepsy. My parents never looked into it, they just had me on various drugs.
So, I started carnivore 10th Dec 2019 for 30 days - just to see. Because I'd tried everything else. It's been 4 years now and I'll never go back to how I was eating before - plant based bodybuilders diet - very low fat - zero to none 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️
What I've learned over 4 years is that fat is so essential to brain health and mental health you wouldn't believe...
My daughter isn't on a carnivore diet, but I make sure she has plenty of protein from red meat, the associated fat, extra fat by way of butter and beef fat to cook in, and whole eggs and season with salt - to taste. Everyday. She also has chicken occasionally too. She hasn't had a seizure since. And she is more focused at school and doing way better!! She's not a fan of rice or pasta unless it has cheese on it - mac n cheese for eg, and even then, its not too much pasta. So, I'm no medic, just a mum of 3, I would recommend you add red meat, whole eggs and fats like butter and beef fat to your children's diet and watch what happens. Make those foods the majority on their plate and tell them to prioritise the meat and eggs and fat first, and eat the carbs last! I think it will work with the tourrett too. My oldest son is autistic and he also does very well on a meat/fat based diet. I also put my dogs on raw carnivore and they're like different animals now! They turn their noses up at regular dog food and kibble!! Good luck with everything xxx

I also read that muscles do grow and respond to carbs a lot more efficiently than fats. Brains utilize fat better, and muscles utilize carbs better. So just have both right? @@pessumpower when your insulin resistant you don't burn fat at all. you store it. This is becuase your (fasting) insulin is chronically high and fat burning is nearly impossible. Otherwise type 2 diabetics would be ripped and not fat

@@DaveThomson Wrong, diabetics are stuck in chronic fat oxidation (well known scientific fact.), never switching to glucose burning.
It's a common misconception from the low carb sphere, and from people that "learned" metabolism from youtube.
If a diabetic person would "not be able to burn fat" it would instantly die the moment he's not eating. Reason glucose is too high is that they are NOT using/storying it, because insulin doesn't work.
Being insulin sensitive means insulin works as intended, so when you eat, you switch to glucose burning, glycogen/fat storing, lowering stress hormones (cortisol/glucagon/adrenaline) so inflammatory processes can start (literally how your body heals/repair).
Chronically high cortisol keeps you in a chronic inflammation suppression state, which will make you feel like you "healed everything" as infalmmation is halted. but the moment you eat even a little bit of carbs everything come back amplified.
Insulin also works in tandem with leptin to provide satiety, when it doesn't work you are always hungry.
Insulin resistance is basically always caused by liver fat accumulation: main causes are Fructose, some of the saturated fatty acids, alcohol, trans fats.
Protein, monounsatured fats, starch (glucose), seems to be the best sources of calories.

What a waste of time, just eat healthier real foods and be in a calorie deficit to lose weight and be healthy. You burn both carbs and fat at the same time. Yeah you might burn more fat on a keto diet but guess what? That does not matter anyways because you are also consuming more fat on a keto diet remember!? so it really ends up coming back to a calorie equation.
