I had the privilege of doing a keto day in the life with Dr. Dom D'Agostino, neuroscientist, professor of molecular pharmacology & physiology, and one of the world's leading keto researchers. We spent the weekend working out on Dom's ranch, making delicious keto-friendly meals (and eating out), and, of course, chatting all things keto.

Dr Dom's calm demeanor is so relaxing. I love listening to him speak, he always responds in such a thoughtful manner.
He is humble which is rare these days.
Kinda weird to realize it's been only 1,5 years knowing keto. It's not like I ate junk before, but I had a whole bunch of stuff I could not even imagine putting in my body now. My awareness of nutrition in general has gone up dramatically thanks to you guys. Dom was the first to inspire me, then dr Berg and Thomas obviously. Good effort!
I like mental clarity on keto but exercising on keto (lifting-powerlifting) is hilariously crap btw I m exhausted on keto even doing some avg mid speed running too
wait until you go carnivorous 🥩🔥🤯🔥🥩
Same here since 2016 journey
I knew Dom was jacked but phuck! Dude is like super jacked…. Great seeing you two eat and work out together. Should’ve invited Layne over to do a lift session lol
Thomas backs up what he says with action. Walks the walk ⭐️💪🏻 much respect✊🏻
I tried a lot of diets like keto diet, low-carb, low-fat but only balanced diet works for me. Personally, I followed meal plan from Next Level Diet, and after four weeks I lost a lot of body fat, and I even got some six pack :D They also provide you with an home workout plan, grocery lists...
🤔
This is AMAZING, please do MORE MORE MORE 🙏
Thank You Dom and Thomas!
Oh yay! Dom is my favorite OG scientist in this space! I’m sure you’ll be back in time to visit him again! I can’t wait to watch the whole clip 👏🏻
Two of the king's in keto!! Absolutely brilliant Thomas. Keep the high quality guests coming. I learn so much from your content. And I'm down 26 lbs😃😃😃 thanks again!
And they are going to die just like the rest of us.
i haven't seen this style of video from you yet. i totally dig it. and i remember Dom from waaay back, in my very early days of going ketogenic.
You two are inspiring to someone like me who's currently at 280 lbs and at the now or never stage of my life at 43.
The 2019 September "Do keto with me " youtube challenge by Thomas Delauer was awesome for my start. I was 250 and lost 30 in a month and another 10 the next 2 months. I maintained about 200 pounds all of 2020 and am currently between 180 and 200 since. Get it!
@anthony5reece very nice congrats!
You can do it! I'm 44 and in my 3rd year of keto. Initially I lost 32 pounds. Though I'm 6'2 and weighed 206 when I started, I was having constant stomach aches, bloating, acid reflux and going to bed nauseous every night. I was taking Pepcid Complete before meals and Gas-X after meals. Within a few days of starting keto my constant stomach aches/acid reflux/bloating/nausea were gone and have never returned. I've never felt better and even started working out again - I put on 11 pounds of muscle and can actually see my abs for the first time ever! A little advice, make sure you consume enough salt, especially in the first few weeks - that'll help you avoid the "keto flu" (which isn't an actual illness, it's just your body flushing itself out). Also make sure you incorporate some intermittent fasting. Once you've got the diet & fasting down, incorporate some exercise (HIIT if possible, but just taking a 10-minute walk after dinner does wonders). You got this!
Inspirational as always! Would love it if you could talk more about coffee (where youre at at the moment) with the CGM etc.. helping my sister with Type2 & wondering if its blunting her sensitivity..? thanks!👍😊
Great segment... loaded with good info
I have those hay bales I might adopt this workout. Dr Dom was a welcomed guest!
Great collab!
Requesting that breakfast recipe in a short please! It looked soooooo good!
Any thoughts or comments on the fact that TRT injections use industrial seed oils? Test cypionate uses cottonseed oil which also has much more lax glyphosate standards.
Awesome content !!! Love this lifestyle
This is awesome!💪 You two give great advice on Keto foods, the workouts, everything! Will be VERY helpful!👍
When I got into researching keto 5 years ago, I geeked out on Dom's keto science, and to this day I still fan-girl over his content. Dom set the bar for my deeper understanding of the process. Nice seeing these two together.
Did you start Keto for a health issue? I started the research in June 22 to stop seizures started in 2005 after a TBI through DV. I stopped all meds in 2012 but recently had some bad falls. I have never been told about Keto for the seizures I just decided to look into it and have found so much. I am looking at Keto or Carnivore, I wasted 3 months at the end of 22 on Low Carb which did not help. I have finally stopped everything the last month, tea & coffee were the last to stop.
@@LifeIsWonderful675 I started for weight loss, then the deeper dives were into inflammation and how it's the beginning of disease (unless genetics had you screwed from birth). I went mostly whole foods, but I can't give up tea and coffee yet. The weight isn't gone yet, but I haven't fully healed fatty liver because of my continued insulin resistance. Fasting is hard when you're going through the menopause thing. My blood work is really good, so I hope to come out the other end healed and losing weight again. It's a process. It's also hard if you're going thru divorce, moving, having life changes. But I love low carb. When I'm ready again, I'll drop the carbs lower and try harder. You can make healthy choices and be low carb enough to keep off disease. I can't relate to seizures, but I'm sure you can do whatever you need to get it under control. I've heard good things about carnivore for healing. I'll keep my cruciferous veggies for now unless I think they are causing issues. I avoid the inflammatory oils and processed foods. If you think about it, I started for weight loss but I'm healing estrogen dominance, inflammation, insulin resistance, and fatty liver. They all are the bane of modern eating patterns.
@@ReeImagined It is certainly a challenge, this month I have had 1 seizure when it could be up to 6 over a week. It has only been 1 month off everything. If it were not for the seizures I would still have my tea & coffee at my favourite cafe
Love your collabs with Dr Dom. I was actually sad when this ended. Lol
I've been really loving the content lately with you hanging with Mark Bell, Layne Norton, and Dom. Great stuff! Keep up the good work!
Guys, this new format is awesome
Loving this content.
Last year I was 315 lbs. Most I ever weighed.
Thanks to Thomas’s advice, I’m down to 270. Keto with fasting works so great together.
250 isn’t goal for now.
Loving all this content.
stronk
Congratulations! That's awesome!💪 Keep it up!👍
To see good products recommended by intelligent people is so awesome
Big admiration for both of you. Thanks 🙏
paul rudd will play Dom in the movie😂😂
I always knew Tom was a beast!!
love the collie
This really is awesome. I appreciate Thomas for his self proclaimed role of "disseminator " of complex bio-med research articles... at least he's honest of what he surely doesn't know...
This video brings in "legitimate " genius Dom Dag..brilliant in so many biomedical research arenas...AND Dom is soo humble, soft spoken..AND makes Thomas look like an adorable younger bro who idolizes intellectual and physical superiority ..gut-check Thomas.
There are Dom Dags out there bro!
😆😊
Not sure whether to take this as a compliment or demeaning? Lol
@@ThomasDeLauerOfficial I'm one of dry humor... your content is amazing...without you, so many ppl who desperately need to understand their health would continue to be lost..
I'm just breaking balls.. Thomas YOU are for real an inspiration sir.. take no umbrage 😊🤙
Thanks for replying..pleasure to exchange a few words my man
@@Michael_Komansky2679 hahaha totally! Have an awesome weekend!
I’m taking a break from coffee ☕️ also only having 2 green teas in the morning 🍵
Cutting caffeine can reduce Dawn phenomenon? Please do a video on this.
Hi where in video do they talk about this? Very interested if this thanks so much

I saw a documentary about sleep and sunlight.
At sunset, find 5 mins to go out and "be" in the light of the setting sun. Then when you rise, go outside to be in the morning light. Regular "lighting" (being in the dawn/dusk light) has done wonders for me.
I used to have vampire hours!
We're not supposed to be inside all the time.
Wow what a journey
Nice video lots of great info. Sucks to see a product promoted that the 3rd or 4th ingredient is seed oils though
I love this video 😍😍😍
This is a fabulous video with two great minds and bodies! I've followed both of you for many years!
Doggo is my favorite part :D
Looks like a hell of a fun daycation to me, y’all rock! 💪
My two go-to guys when it comes to ketogenic and fasting lifestyle
I love the dogs! More! :-)
Hardest part of keto is watching my family friends and everyone else around me eating and enjoying whatever they want. Puts me in a foul mood and I don’t even realize it, until my wife or someone else is like dude what’s your problem, 😫
cut out plants. going carnivorous will improve your mood.
Abs make everything better. Keep it up and they will change their tune lol
Awesome new format Thomas. Love the interviews and videos around that.
Thomas DeLauer great video. Do you have any reservations or concerns about mTOR activation with a Keto and/or Carnivore based diet?
Men at peace working out together; this is what nature/God intended
Jeez, Dom is an absolute tank
At this point in my life, I have moved to more of a plant based diet but I am not a nut case about and insist everyone do the same. You got to do what works best for you.
Thomas - I really enjoyed everything in this video content with Dom! It was fun to see you guys order at the restaurants. Thanks for sharing and for all the helpful info. I will use your discount to try Ample 😃👍🏼
Ever tried Dandelion tea as a caffeine free coffee substitute? With milk it tastes very similar to coffee.
Rebel ice cream - good choice!
Question please, I've had a inward 3 cervical disk fusion done around 4 years ago, but it has left me weak; is there a way to strengthen the area to give myself a little more strength? I know I have a weight limit do to have ing the surgery..p.s. There is a new foot product..sorry I can't remember the name but maybe you could look it up, you can wear them in any shoe and they help with those type of feet problem.😀👍
I have not benched in years. I do dips and push-ups. I have no equipment lol
Even his muscles have muscles!! ;-)
These videos this style with the training and eating with the guest is next level! Keep them coming Thomas!
Nice vlog
Any thoughts on taking rhodiola supplement.
I was twitching wanting to get into your gym with you!! Surprised I didn't see any kettle bells. Unfortunately AMPLE doesn't ship to Canada! Crap....
Was there a podcast filmed during this trip? Link please :)
Hi, Thomas, I enjoyed this video but am confused by something. I couldn't catch all the ingredients on the Ample sample, but the first thing I noticed was that it contained whey protein concentrate. I thought you recommended whey protein isolate. Would you mind explaining this please to clear up my confusion?
Hi Thomas. Discount code not working, trying to order now. Thanks.
Thomas this is amazing. Lifting at home alongside you guys is great motivation. Please tell me you are gonna stop by the Knees Over Toes Guys next!!!
Great video Thomas your daughter is adorable they are so special mine is 25 seems like yesterday she was a little kiddo. I enjoyed the video a lot because it’s real and shows how easy it really is to eat healthy your a inspiration 👍
omg Dom IS 🔥🔥🔥
Love this. I have been influenced heavily by Dr. D'Agostino. I was 313 lb in college while playing college football. After I was done I utilized keto to dramatically lose weight down to 245. Through medical school I used keto on and off but mostly just fasting to down to 215 at one point. Its been a long road with osciliating up and down to where I am now 230. Back on the horse now with the hopes of getting down to 200 with fasting, modified keto and lifting. Awesome stuff. Cool to know that we were once the same weight and you now are that light and look the way you do.
Have you ever had an issue with hypertension?
anyone know where we can find thomas' routine?
I know I am late, but this is cool. Dr. Dom D'Agostino 😁 He's been one of my favorites to follow in Keto. Him, Rob, Luis & Tyler... Absolute tops in keto science. Thank you for this.
Great video. How about Peter Attia on your next one?
I guess AMPLE does not ship outside USA yet?
I want to do keto but not forever. Any advice for transitioning off of keto?

Or you could say, dedicated.
Awesome video Thomas, paul saladino is next right???? Thanks for all you do brother. That deadlift was great man
Paul is awesome. Yep we’re planning that collab
What’s up with Amples sunflower oil as 3rd ingredient let alone at all ?!!
You need to do a program on muscle building and longevity. I do not see how doing daily high intensity exercise doesnt reduce longevity. You are inducing major stress. Seems to me their has to be an optimum amount and intensity.
I would say emotions are the gauge for how much stress you can apply to the body. Modern life is really not conducive for health so the best way to be healthy is to make it your job or life.
@@the_famous_reply_guy put on a CGM watch your blood glucose before and after exercise amd you would get why i made the statement. Body building is not a longevity promoting pursuit. Moderate exercise does promote health but there is a fine line between good stress and bad.
@@GregariousAntithesis I don't disagree as I've been an admirer of bodybuilding until HGH an Insulin hit hard in the late 1990's blowing out guts and kidney function along the way. Flex Wheeler has one leg and probably won't survive another two years at his rate of breakdown which is tragic. Pro bodybuilding is akin to anorexia requiring great self-loathing or narcissism or both to achieve top stage results which are subjective and ultimately counter productive to health and quality of life just like professional athletics and the grind of the working person. Most of the longest lived and healthiest people tend to be productive, mentally robust and self assured in who they are. I must emphasis the self knowledge aspect of health, know thy self.
@@the_famous_reply_guy narcissism, impressing other people, entitlement, decadence, all the trappings of the ego and the failings of a society.
Hey Thomas, I know you’re busy but you said youre suffering from Dawns phenomenon , I am too suffering from something similar where I wake up after 4ish hours of sleep and I can’t go back to sleep . I am in the military but have nothing crazy going on right now. Any supplements or any suggestions on dietary revision?
I don't condone this "trick" but when I find my sleep schedule is whack, I stay up one night with no sleep.
Then I goto bed at 10pm no matter what. It resets my sleep and wake.
Thomas, can you explain how coffee was making you wake up at 4:45-5am?
Until a few years ago I never knew what Keto was. However I have lived the Keto lifestyle since my 20's despite being told how bad it was to eat meat and fat. Being genetically ectomorphic I had tried to gain muscle but after non stop failure and constant illnesses I simply accepted being thin. That being said you can also use a Bobcat as a pull up bar.
I love these vlog type videos! They really show the real life Thomas.
Trt comment is spot on! I'm not opposed to it, but I'm waiting until I'm 60 or so and really need it before u do....shit, if 60s are good to me then 70
Your testosterone is supposed to drop off naturally so you can develop the correct hormone profile for your brain to be reflective and enjoy life. You'll be aware your testosterone younger days were like a flash, old age is all about slowing down to enjoy the experience of life. Monks sages and seekers throughout the ages use vegetarian diets to help slow down the mind, today we have used everything to redline. The more mechanical we treat diet our body the more mechanical we become as species.
@@the_famous_reply_guy hummmm, we don't live like the monks though, plus how society is now, aint no enjoying life, most people have to work until they're dead. Which is another reason people supplement trt...Makes sense tho
@@Devestato72 ultimately society isn't synchronised with our natural evolutionary biology specifically late stage capitalism. I fully expect and predict in 20 years everyone will be on broad spectrum of stimulants, suppressant and pain killing chemicals to maximise human productivity and controllability, a suicide ponzi scheme designed by scientific analysis run by and for the benefit of the unknown few. Ketosis research is being consumed by the pentagon to produce soldiers that can stay on the battle field for longer, why?. Everything is being weaponised when ketosis could help people with mental health disorders but who makes a profit by not eating? Paraphrasing Dr Jason Fung "simply stop eating and ketosis happens like magic." apoptosis, autophagy destroy disfunctional cells and heals the body in ways we cannot begin to measure. Thomas talks about feeling jitter travelling, which is understandable, bad things can, we like predictable outcomes, it's programmed into us from a young age, but if we change societies norms we produce healthy people, better outcomes and environments for everyone. I don't believe health, peace and truth has any space in this system and it will eat itself eventually.
@@the_famous_reply_guy totally agree bro

Thanks y'all..but the thumbnail....smh..yall cuttin up in the name of science.
Dr Dom did NOT take me as a guy on anabolics, crazy!
He’s not. That’s what the whole discussion was. DHEA is not an anabolic
All life is anabolic as we sleep and recover from damage and illness, we want to be as anabolically efficient as possible to maximise health and life span as cells can only replicate a finite number of times and each one has a counter and clock which is genetically rigged.
