    I had the privilege of doing a keto day in the life with Dr. Dom D'Agostino, neuroscientist, professor of molecular pharmacology & physiology, and one of the world's leading keto researchers. We spent the weekend working out on Dom's ranch, making delicious keto-friendly meals (and eating out), and, of course, chatting all things keto.

    Kinda weird to realize it's been only 1,5 years knowing keto. It's not like I ate junk before, but I had a whole bunch of stuff I could not even imagine putting in my body now. My awareness of nutrition in general has gone up dramatically thanks to you guys. Dom was the first to inspire me, then dr Berg and Thomas obviously. Good effort!

    I tried a lot of diets like keto diet, low-carb, low-fat but only balanced diet works for me. Personally, I followed meal plan from Next Level Diet, and after four weeks I lost a lot of body fat, and I even got some six pack :D They also provide you with an home workout plan, grocery lists...

      You can do it! I'm 44 and in my 3rd year of keto. Initially I lost 32 pounds. Though I'm 6'2 and weighed 206 when I started, I was having constant stomach aches, bloating, acid reflux and going to bed nauseous every night. I was taking Pepcid Complete before meals and Gas-X after meals. Within a few days of starting keto my constant stomach aches/acid reflux/bloating/nausea were gone and have never returned. I've never felt better and even started working out again - I put on 11 pounds of muscle and can actually see my abs for the first time ever! A little advice, make sure you consume enough salt, especially in the first few weeks - that'll help you avoid the "keto flu" (which isn't an actual illness, it's just your body flushing itself out). Also make sure you incorporate some intermittent fasting. Once you've got the diet & fasting down, incorporate some exercise (HIIT if possible, but just taking a 10-minute walk after dinner does wonders). You got this!

      Did you start Keto for a health issue? I started the research in June 22 to stop seizures started in 2005 after a TBI through DV. I stopped all meds in 2012 but recently had some bad falls. I have never been told about Keto for the seizures I just decided to look into it and have found so much. I am looking at Keto or Carnivore, I wasted 3 months at the end of 22 on Low Carb which did not help. I have finally stopped everything the last month, tea & coffee were the last to stop.

    • @ReeImagined
      @ReeImagined Рік тому +1

      @@LifeIsWonderful675 I started for weight loss, then the deeper dives were into inflammation and how it's the beginning of disease (unless genetics had you screwed from birth). I went mostly whole foods, but I can't give up tea and coffee yet. The weight isn't gone yet, but I haven't fully healed fatty liver because of my continued insulin resistance. Fasting is hard when you're going through the menopause thing. My blood work is really good, so I hope to come out the other end healed and losing weight again. It's a process. It's also hard if you're going thru divorce, moving, having life changes. But I love low carb. When I'm ready again, I'll drop the carbs lower and try harder. You can make healthy choices and be low carb enough to keep off disease. I can't relate to seizures, but I'm sure you can do whatever you need to get it under control. I've heard good things about carnivore for healing. I'll keep my cruciferous veggies for now unless I think they are causing issues. I avoid the inflammatory oils and processed foods. If you think about it, I started for weight loss but I'm healing estrogen dominance, inflammation, insulin resistance, and fatty liver. They all are the bane of modern eating patterns.

    Love this. I have been influenced heavily by Dr. D'Agostino. I was 313 lb in college while playing college football. After I was done I utilized keto to dramatically lose weight down to 245. Through medical school I used keto on and off but mostly just fasting to down to 215 at one point. Its been a long road with osciliating up and down to where I am now 230. Back on the horse now with the hopes of getting down to 200 with fasting, modified keto and lifting. Awesome stuff. Cool to know that we were once the same weight and you now are that light and look the way you do.

      Your testosterone is supposed to drop off naturally so you can develop the correct hormone profile for your brain to be reflective and enjoy life. You'll be aware your testosterone younger days were like a flash, old age is all about slowing down to enjoy the experience of life. Monks sages and seekers throughout the ages use vegetarian diets to help slow down the mind, today we have used everything to redline. The more mechanical we treat diet our body the more mechanical we become as species.

      @@the_famous_reply_guy hummmm, we don't live like the monks though, plus how society is now, aint no enjoying life, most people have to work until they're dead. Which is another reason people supplement trt...Makes sense tho

      @@Devestato72 ultimately society isn't synchronised with our natural evolutionary biology specifically late stage capitalism. I fully expect and predict in 20 years everyone will be on broad spectrum of stimulants, suppressant and pain killing chemicals to maximise human productivity and controllability, a suicide ponzi scheme designed by scientific analysis run by and for the benefit of the unknown few. Ketosis research is being consumed by the pentagon to produce soldiers that can stay on the battle field for longer, why?. Everything is being weaponised when ketosis could help people with mental health disorders but who makes a profit by not eating? Paraphrasing Dr Jason Fung "simply stop eating and ketosis happens like magic." apoptosis, autophagy destroy disfunctional cells and heals the body in ways we cannot begin to measure. Thomas talks about feeling jitter travelling, which is understandable, bad things can, we like predictable outcomes, it's programmed into us from a young age, but if we change societies norms we produce healthy people, better outcomes and environments for everyone. I don't believe health, peace and truth has any space in this system and it will eat itself eventually.

      All life is anabolic as we sleep and recover from damage and illness, we want to be as anabolically efficient as possible to maximise health and life span as cells can only replicate a finite number of times and each one has a counter and clock which is genetically rigged.

And I know my injuries are normal. But it's nice to hear experts in the field talk about their own struggles. Thanks, guys.

I’m 56 with body fat of 16.3% at the gym right now working out !!! Have offered Thomas a free trip to my home in Buckingham Va ( that’s where the Amish are moving from PA to get back to the countryside ) to actually see a substantial Amish farm where real food is eaten . Im now healthy 6’3”!tall 211 pounds from 465+ . I was a T2D on insulin and meds with a A1C of 12.7 . My A1C is now 5.0 better than most non diabetic. All of this was done in 9 months without any meds .
      Tired of him promoting processed foods making money off innocent people like yourself. Most are looking for the easy way out . I does not exist. It is hard work and determination. It takes time no Instant gratification . This is what the American people want. Help me make others understand that processed food kills. I lost my sister and other family members to this and almost my life also. I have reached out to Thomas many times very kindly in fact and he has called me a ignorant crazy dude. I’m old enough to be his father and should be respected that way. His insults have triggered this response to try to stop his HACK and expose that he is a weak PRETTY BOY that’s only concerned about boosting his pathetic ego and make killer profits of the unknowing people. Help me spread the word around in hopes that Thomas will change his content or just go away quietly. He calls me crazy ( crazy smart to Hurt him in his pocket where it counts along with his fans and ego. ) thanks in advance for you listening: Brian
