  • In this episode we are removing some water damaged laminate, the front door threshold, and some subfloor. We didn't have a cover over our front door for quite a while which led to water damage. This was a quick and easy job! It's not good to have gaps in your door in Texas... In Summer... Thanks for watching!

I have a loose threshold going out from my mudroom. This helped me see what I need to look at. This will go onto a concrete floor and want to use contractors adhesive for it. Thanks!!

I found your video very helpful and knowing that I needed to remove my door trim. I am going to be replacing mine as well but I was surprised by your use of press board on an exterior door. Even if it's completely covered to be protected by porch it is going to be effected by the humidity from outside.

Love your choice of music. It’s Brazilian I think...maybe by Carlos Jobim?

I have 2 questions: Is your porch roof tiled with your main house with no divide between the 2 for the heavy rain you said Texas sometimes gets? And what in the world is that gross looking bug in the beginning of your video??
I have really enjoyed the laid back way you talk about your home - makes me think we could actually try it ourselves!

So, the porch roof is not actually attached to the house roof itself, but there is a gutter to catch the rain coming from off of the house roof. The bug to me is just a "stick bug", but the biggest I've seen. You definitely could try it yourself!

Your new sub floor seems to be 1/8 of an inch short of the old sub floor?

Those old measurements were more accurate but these new ones are all approximated.
