We Moved To Salt Lake City
A lot of talking in this video, but wanted to give an update about a massive life change that occurred. It's hard to break away from being comfortable and doing something as challenging as this, but sometimes that's need for growth. We moved from Houston to Salt Lake City in late 2023 and have been enjoying it! The biggest challenge has been, and continues to be raising our two young children without the support system of friends and familly that we once had. But it's a challenge we are embracing head on. Hope you enjoyed the video! Till next time.

How do you make the chickens lay eggs in those exact slots if the entire coop is covered in the same stuff? Just so I know how to do mine thank you

Build, better quality for same price or cheaper. I used 2x6 for my floor joist, while a lot of the smaller shed use 2x4. Cost a little more, but at least the floor won't sag when it's time to resell in the future.

During the extremely mild February in northern Wisconsin, I built a 12x16 gambrel style shed with a large loft, rugged 12 foot bench, ALL electrical, roll-up 7 foot wide door, pin style footings in the corners for a total of $3500. Went on the TuffShed website and priced out the same configuration... total came to $10k. In full disclosure, I also purchased new pneumatic framing nailer, roofing nailer and full sized jack hammer, all NOT included in the $3500 cost. I need a jack hammer and the nailers for another project.

Always get a structural engineer to give you the sizing necessary for beams and foundation support necessary to replace a load bearing wall. Something like this isn’t a DIY project unless you have a lot of experience.

Washer/dryer combinations have the worst of both worlds. I’ve not heard a good thing about them,so maybe you could have popped a little divider between the machines to screen them from view in the kitchen. Of the bedroom was too big, take an entire wall and make it storage, thus justifying the amount of space the room takes up.

Looking at building my own and this was just the ticket for inspiration. All the other videos are either too small , cheap and nasty or use £600 worth of wood for a £500 shed. This is a £200 build for a £700 coop. Plus it actually shows the build not how a skill saw notches 2x4’s.

I used to run a vocational program. If your local high school has one go ask them. The kids will figure the plans and BOM. They will have materials delivered and put it up for very cheap. Mine did a 25X25 workshop at my house on a slab. It was half of what I could have paid someone to build, and actually cheaper on materials because they bought them on a school account and can’t be charged tax.
