I eventually found one for a good price and it seriously looks awesome in person and the colour gets a lot of compliments!
I got mine on aegan blue but definitely still have want it on black. I may wrap it in the future once i fully own it. Aegan blue is nice but my go to car is to be murdered out.

Yeah when I got mine I heard about that problem, also heard it was fixed for the 2020 which is the one I got but it was only from the Honda forums. But I also change my oil around 40%, and when I go to the store around the corner from my house, I usually take the long way to make sure the engine gets to running temp 👍
Agreed. My local Honda dealership offers free oil changes for life of vehicle if bought through them. Yet, they won't do it unless it is at 20% I didn't buy it through them though so I take it in around 40-50%
Its a good engine but dont expect to make much power on it reliably.. Its a very small motor.. Its pretty much a boosted version of the Honda fit motor with slightly stronger internals. I mean 250whp is terrible for a boosted car these days.. I almost make that on an NA K24 with bolt ons..

What you guys feel about the 10th Gen CVT 1.5 turbo 4 door hatch? I zip car rented it and omfg that car is insanely fast and responsive for its drive train and size...maybe it was me driving a 1996 Camry for 12 years that made that car seem like a rocket but I absolutely had a blast in that car.
sounds like it was because of your car, also modern induction noises and turbo lag give the impression that you're going faster then you are. Coming from an old econobox a stock brz feels fast. I think the benefit these cars have is the low inertia turbo and cvt which makes accelerating at low speeds super smooth and torquey. Also the lightweight chassis is something that isn't common anymore in modern vehicles, so seeing as how the sedans/hatches are 3000+ and the coupes are 2800+, the power is a lot more useable.
@@100geese My GF has an ex-L coupe which weighed in a little over 2900lbs with a mostly full tank so most likely a bit above 2800 dry weight. I'm talking about actual weight versus dry weight. I've seen multiple 4dr civics come into the same shop with over 3klb weights but yeah trim and transmission do play a factor. But the heaviest coupe still weighs 50-80lbs less then the sedan. I would assume a sport sedan MT and civic coupe that's not a touring trim would weigh pretty similar amounts. Also take into account that the coupes ride on stiffer springs then the sedan/hatch for the FC gen. SO that coupled with the fact the heaviest coupe is under 2900lbs makes the ride a lot more sporty.

I love this because I’ve been there! I have a focus ST and have spent countless hours and dollars doing a number of things to it which I ended up undoing a month later! For me it was a giant Ford performance wind shield banner. $100 for the banner. I spent at least 8 hours doing it because it never looked right. I finally brought it to a pro and spent another $100 to have them install it. It still looked off and ended up taking it off all together! Addition by subtraction as it looks better without it even if it was done correctly. Your car looks better like this though. It just took a grand and a long work week to realize it!
It takes a good person to admit your mistakes- I’m just very impressed to see this in a young person. I’ve been in the car business 40+ years - I drive a 17 si- and am still nervous to modify it, but it was great to hear your positive feedback- I &would be interested to hear how many miles you put on it. Great video, thanks
Thanks! I ended up selling it with 21,000 miles I believe. I did a lot of spirited driving on the stage 1 tune with zero issues. I wouldn't be afraid to modify yours.
This is is a huge video... appreciate you for this... We learn from mistakes thanks for sharing yours . I almost did what you already did... now I will get my intercooler before anything..
1st mistake: "Damn I wish I'd have given these wheels and tires to Ken"....c'mon man. I KNOW that's what you were wanting to say! ;-) Seriously though. Being a brand new 10th gen owner, this is great information!! Thanks Cam!!
6:00 It's funny you mention that, because I desperately wanted the gunmetal (modern steel metallic) color and settled on the moon silver, which is nice, but I couldn't find an SI and I needed a car that week. I've owned a bunch of black cars, integras specifically and...never again. I just get too OCD about keeping it clean and it shows everything. So annoying, but it looks so cool.
Hi Cameron - Absolutely a great vid!!! I own a 2018 Civic Hatchback LX 6spd 1.5T and bought it new three years ago - been very cautious about moding it so this vid really, really helps me!!!!! Thanks for this great info! Best of Luck
I got my 2020 Blue Civic Si 6 months ago, it was my first manual car that i learned in. I have a done a few modifications here and there. Personally I love the Borla exhaust on my car a lot more. This car is absolutely amazing and I will always be a Honda fan girl.
Do it bro you’ll love it. Grab an intercooler first tho like he mentioned. I have an ‘18 sedan si with a GREDDY intercooler, PRL stage 1 intake, and ktuner and its phenomenal. I waited because the warranty but wish I hadn’t
Modify it to use ethenol if you want cheap power increase. I run e85 50/50. Straight E85 gives me less MPG and harder starts. Biggest bang for your buck for increased power.
Thanks for giving me motivation to keep building my x Gen, same boat.. coming from 8th Gen and hearing L15 is junk but I do believe it more reliable than people expect , keep modding man!
Nice,I think when we all get a new car we want too dive in and jazz it up,I would love too not have rev hang....but the only motor mod I’ve done is K& N filter..that’s it I’m good. Thanks Cam
I had a 2018 exactly like yours and traded it for a 2008 C6 Vette with 15k miles. You would not believe that was a HUGE mistake. The Si could handle corners SO MUCH better. My only complaint on the car besides the oil dilution, was the rev hang. The rev hang was VERY annoying on that car. Other than that, Honda did an excellent job.
Takes a strong character to admit he’s wrong, well done. Honda make more combustion engines than any other company in the world, they’re bound to be great! Cheers, thanks for the great video, subbed!
I feel your pain, I drove 1 1/2 to get my white si, the dealers around me only had red, black and gray. It took me a week to track down the white one but it’s worth the wait to get the color that you want. Blue black gray or white.
I watched alot of your 10 gen videos before I bought mine. This video is great and I’m glad you put this out here. Just subscribed and I’m excited for your future content.
Hey man, I'm relatively new to your channel (about a week or so). I was in a wreck about a month back (not my fault, car was totaled) and I've been trying to decide on what car to get next. After watching a few of your videos, I decided to go with a new 2020 10th gen Civic Si. I just bought the car last night and I'm so excited to make this car my own! I think your videos will be a good guide to get me in the right direction. Thanks for unknowingly helping convince me to get this car!
Hey! Thats awesome that you bought a 10th Gen and Im sorry to hear about your accident. I have tons of videos with lots of helpful info dating all the way back to last November. Go on a watching spree and then DM on instagram if you have any questions after that!
You gotta make mistakes to learn man. You did it all yourself for the most part so don’t be too down. Still enjoy the content regardless. Curious to see where else you take this
@@cloroxbleach885 this happens every.time I go to the Honda dealer. The last oil change he asked me if I painted the car. I said no and he tried to argue. Then I was looking at a 2.0t accord in the lot and one of the sales guys came up to me and I said something about just seeing how the K series fits in the accord and argued with me for a second that the accord doesn't have a K.
This is very true, if you are going to drop a large chunk of change on a car then at least get the color you want look at everyday. I wanted one in red and I jumped for the keys when I saw it still on the delivery truck (this sealed the deal).
Great channel bro , iv found myself watching all ur videos on the 10 gen.. i got a 2019 si myself for about a yr now, ktun 23map, fpdp 3 in , prl race map intake and so far it runs great and its suprised me against alot of cars in miami fl... i just subscribed💯
Thanks bro for the videos i have had my 2020 si coupe for a year havent done anything to it ... i give you props with all you did with yours just expiramentation good shit bro
Hey brother, I recently purchased that exact SI, same color but the 2019 model. I was also hesitant on its reliability but I’ve always been a Honda guy, a good friend of mine sent me a link to the vehicle 3 days before I purchased it. I felt robbed as in I could’ve got a better price lower than 30k for it but all in all, you reassured my decision and I actually feel proud of buying it. THANK you so much for the info and honesty. I was thinking of wrapping my car this weekend but I’d rather use that money for an inter cooler instead
Thank you for this video my man this really helps. Just ordered the prl cobra intake for my car yesterday and it's gonna be my first mod so hearing you say that you did the same thing is pretty reassuring lol and I was gonna order the ktuner as well but I wanted to upgrade the intercooler and clutch before I do it
You'll be fine, I've been running PRL intake (Race MAF), and a prl downpipe and TSP STAGE 2 for almost 40K miles (bought new with 11 miles, and currently have 54K miles on it), stock clutch and exhaust, no issues. I Do a lot of racing and heavy driving. The issue with reliability comes with people not taking care of their cars, as with ANY CAR, If you dont take proper precautions and keep up with maintenance, and especially dont drive your car correctly. It will fail. Turbo motors need more maintenance then N/A motors, especially when tuned. What you're going to need is a catch can after an intake, tune, and E85. Really just in general. t'll fix all the issues with blow by and stuff people complain about that's common on boosted applications, and all cars with a turbo motor needs one. Do oil changes every 5K miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. Check spark plugs for normal wear every other oil change. (Do NOT REPLACE SPARK PLUGS WITH ANYTHING ELSE, except HONDA OEM as they use a NGK plug currently sold only at the dealer) these motors are built to last and handle power, the only reason they dont is because of neglect, I have a buddy who's running FBO and 27Won turbo, running E30 and hes been going fine for 20K miles, stage 2 clutch.
It's ok buddy this is why people pay me to do this kind of thing. It happens all the time. What I can tell you is if that is all you paid to try and wrap a entire car then be glad you purchased the wrong type of product because it would have been closer too or over $1,000 but even so if you had spent that much on the correct stuff you most likely would have had the same outcome installing it. Vehicle wraps just aren't a craft that can easily be jumped into though it might seem to be. But good for you for trying it on your own
Thanks for being so honest about your experiences with the 10th Gen SI. I have been very concerned in buying a 1.5T engine and love the 2.4 so much was thinking of getting the Acura ILX (since that is the only new car that I know that has that engine.) Thanks for easing my concerns about the reliability of the 1.5T
Listen. Don’t be hard on yourself. This how we learn. The coolest thing is that you manned up and admitted where you went wrong. I’ve learned a lot about my 2020 si from you. I’ve got the black on black sedan with the same exhaust as yours. Been waiting on your mods and experience to move on with what in going to do next. Since I live in NYC, the weather is cooler more than hot. Would you still think I should get the IC next before the tune?
well, the climate will have some affect on the car, but if you do a pull in 40 degree weather, its still going to be heat soaked after that one pull. I mean, if you really want to, you can get tuned and monitor your temps and see what happens, then see the enormous difference after you get the intercooler. thats always fun to see the progress!
I like your videos. Has tempted me to tune my Si. But I don't make videos, and prob won't race anyone, so I'll just live vicariously through your content 😎
Not a noob or anything but I have Phearable stage 2.5 tune Dp(catless)/fp PRL PRL intercooler w/ charge pipes PRL Flex fuel kit PRL Race CAI Stock exhaust ( HKS coming soon) Should I be worried about the clutch?
I KNOW that's what you were wanting to say! ;-)
Seriously though.
I got the black si sedan and love it. Like you said man...I waited to find the right one I wanted
I have a 2020 sport coupe with just intake and exhaust so I’m doing all the research I can to make sure this build goes right
Hi Cameron - Absolutely a great vid!!! I own a 2018 Civic Hatchback LX 6spd 1.5T and bought it new three years ago - been very cautious about moding it so this vid really, really helps me!!!!! Thanks for this great info! Best of Luck
Thanks Travel Guy!
I got my 2020 Blue Civic Si 6 months ago, it was my first manual car that i learned in. I have a done a few modifications here and there. Personally I love the Borla exhaust on my car a lot more. This car is absolutely amazing and I will always be a Honda fan girl.
You've gotten really good at speaking/editing in your vids! Good stuff dude!
Don't blame u on mistakes. I should've got SI but got a coupe lx 08. But instead I turn it into DD project car.
Great and helpful video man! I’m buying a 10th gen hfp next month and this video helped me be more confident with my decision
Hell yea. You will be making a GREAT choice!
you are one of the main reasons why I purchase mine! Waited for the exact right one
Lol I just went and bought one of these a couple days ago. I love it. Thinking about modding but low key don’t want too cause of losing my warranty.
I gotta try this !!!
Thanks Cam
I’m buiyinf a 17 si coupe !!! I’m excited!
Man...I love that colour grey!! Good video by the way! Thanks!
Yes white is the best in my opinion 2020 coupe
I watched alot of your 10 gen videos before I bought mine. This video is great and I’m glad you put this out here. Just subscribed and I’m excited for your future content.
Thank you for finally subbing!
Well, if you wrapped it yellow people would say you are replicating the Type R limited edition, ha. Keep up positive content sir.
Honestly it would have been a lose-lose situation lol
Honest reviews and opinions from a good dude.. love the Veloster N videos btw hope to see more homie!
@@Camhill182 Thankfully I'm okay, just minor injuries.
Will do! Excited to get started
Love your civic videos never get rid of them!
We still appreciate you either way, there's no need for an apology! Thanks Viv!
You gotta make mistakes to learn man. You did it all yourself for the most part so don’t be too down. Still enjoy the content regardless. Curious to see where else you take this
Great video! Now we just need a video like this for 10th gen Accord 2.0
I made my dealership go across the state to bring in my tonic yellow pearl Si. They didnt even know the color existed.
How tf do they not know about the cars they are selling 😂
@@cloroxbleach885 this happens every.time I go to the Honda dealer. The last oil change he asked me if I painted the car. I said no and he tried to argue. Then I was looking at a 2.0t accord in the lot and one of the sales guys came up to me and I said something about just seeing how the K series fits in the accord and argued with me for a second that the accord doesn't have a K.
Sick si bro!! I actually have a black 10th gen myself and I put esr rims on mine. now I’m just waiting for my hks exhaust! Great content man!!
This is very true, if you are going to drop a large chunk of change on a car then at least get the color you want look at everyday. I wanted one in red and I jumped for the keys when I saw it still on the delivery truck (this sealed the deal).
Yesss
Great channel bro , iv found myself watching all ur videos on the 10 gen.. i got a 2019 si myself for about a yr now, ktun 23map, fpdp 3 in , prl race map intake and so far it runs great and its suprised me against alot of cars in miami fl... i just subscribed💯
Hey man! Thanks for watching and subbing. You need the phearable tune!
@@Camhill182 Yea i saw ur video when u did the pharable tune and im deffinately going to get in contact with them soon .. keep up the great content 👍🙏
Your channel deserves a lot more attention bro! Great video!
Thanks man. That means a lot
I got the same Si but in white, i like all the features. I like your color also so dont feel bad. Ive learn a lot from ur mistake. Thx for the video!
Same 2020 si coupe in white best looking color...
Big fan of your videos and Honda related content. Keep it up 👍🏼. Good luck finding a type r. I have a 2020 si, so your vids are interesting
Bought a White Si Coupe a while back and have been loving it. Thank you for keeping it real. Also I really like those wheels where did you get them?
Those wheels are the stock 2020s
OEM color looks great. Big mistake was wrapping it. Agreed.
Just bought a 10th gen I love it
It's ok buddy this is why people pay me to do this kind of thing.
Just bought a 10th gen and going to do some bolt ons too
You and Sergio are friend goals 🙏🏻
Dude I love the videos on your car in, Puerto Rico there is a couple of them with plus 400 HP and they are killing every thing it's pretty dope.
First video I watch of you man and love your personality got me to wanna watch you more man keep it up
Thanks!
I like your videos. Has tempted me to tune my Si. But I don't make videos, and prob won't race anyone, so I'll just live vicariously through your content 😎
I have a 2020 black civic Si sedan. I haven’t made any mods to it but I love it.
I like your honest approach! Learned a lot. Thanks.
Not a noob or anything but I have Phearable stage 2.5 tune
Dp(catless)/fp PRL
PRL intercooler w/ charge pipes
PRL Flex fuel kit
PRL Race CAI
Stock exhaust ( HKS coming soon)
Should I be worried about the clutch? I haven’t been slipping yet but I just want to make sure lol.
Great video btw you’ve helped me out a lot throughout my build for my 10th gen Si
I would just be smart about doing pulls. Make sure everything is definitely warmed up and with stage 2, i def wouldnt floor it below 3k rpm. Ideally 3500
