  • Cruise control on a highway is easy. Set and forget. In traffic conditions it is not so easy. This video is about using the Cruise Control in City traffic.

They managed to make these icons hard to see on both dark and bright backgrounds. Incredible 😂

Great video! The most complete that I have seen, regarding ACC 👏👏👏
I LOVE that it stops if you are coming to a red light and there is a vehicle already stopped. In my Golf 7, it only reacts if the vehicle in front is moving, and if it finds an stopped vehicle on the road, it simply ignores it, and if you are not watching, if would slam into it 😅😅

I use the CC in the city ALL the time. Set it to the speed limit - have the care take care of the constant brake/accel changes.
Takes all the hard work out of city driving - can be a bit finnicky at times and brake, with big vehicles in the next lane, but you can just accelerate out of that and it does what its told.

Thanks for covering all the scenarios. I try to avoid staying beside other cars/trucks or being in their blind spots. Unfortunately, ACC is not able to do this. So, I really only use ACC on long journeys on low-traffic highways.

yes, I am the same, so if I am next to a truck I accelerate past and then take my foot of the accelerator and the speed drops back. The ACC allows accelerate passed the nominated speed. I use the ACC a lot so as not to be booked because so easy in this car to speed.

with regard to CC around town, there are more up and down undulations in the road surface and the car can lose visibility of the white lines (also the white lines defining the road edge are non existent in suburban streets) and that's when it seems to just seems to lose it and wants to drive off the road or onto the other side of the road.

havent found that. When it loses visabilty it seems to turn off. But something to watch

Wat ik mis in deze video is de snelweg. En als je op de snelweg 100 km/u rijdt, en je zet de cruise controle aan. Start hij dan ook bij 30 km/u? Dat lijkt mij gevaarlijk.

Hi, when you're in ACC and come to a full stop for more than 3 seconds, does pressing up on the steering wheel gets the car moving again or are you forced to press the pedal regardless?

Thanks for a useful video. Think there are missing front sensors, or that they are narrowly calibrated so they cannot handle jerks in roundabouts etc.
One thing I experience with the CC. in Atto3 is a gap when accelerating during starting and stopping its a smal jurk. Do you also feel it when you drive in queued traffic? I think that gap is between the drive to the power transmission to the wheels.
What do you think this is due to...
    Once again thanks.

Put it in comfort parking and see if that fixes it

I just noticed your indicator makes a clicking sound whereas mine makes a horrible chime sound. Do you have this covered in one of your videos?

Go to Car ->Vehicle Settings->Notifications->Vehicle prompt sound. Change from Brand to Standard

If you increase your following distance then the car will brake sooner when the traffic slows in front of you, also when stopping at lights when there is a car in front of you it is not scary for your passengers so much.

    • @BYD_Telsa
      @BYD_Telsa  Рік тому

I have my distance set to the max. Maybe my passengers are more timid lol

Anyone had the Atto 3 roll back a bit at the lights behind another car with CC on? Freaked me out.
I hope it would stop before hitting the car behind.

Wtf, you going about it the wrong way, when you approach a stopped vehicle at the lights you supposed to brake from distance accordingly and take control/cancel ACC, as per owners manual driving techniques. You didn't mention the inability to set a new speed by pressing the down button if it already been pressed within the last 30 seconds, eg, you set 55 in a 60 zone and in the next 30 seconds you try to up it to say 57kph it won't let you, you need to wait over 30 seconds to do that or simply press up button but that is stricktly 5kph increments. Could you do a vid showing if there is any increase in braking distance with comfort parking vs no comfort parking, I have braked hard a few times from 30-0 and it tends to shudder as it stops due to comfort parking parking I think.
