I share a car with my family a lot and the fact that there’s no driver profiles is disappointing, I don’t want to spend time every time we switch drivers doing the mirrors and seat position.
the method ive found to disable auto close for the sunshade is as follows: while leaving the car, get out, lock it via the key AND THEN turn it off via the key as well. The sunshade stays in the open position
Thanks Mine nails the speed signs every time, I do however, regularly polish the camera lenses with a microfibre cloth. The only time it can get a bit muddled up is around temporary speed warning signs, typically near road works. Most of the functions do respond to voice control and I use that regularly. Driving in the country at 85 kmh I regularly get 12 kWh consumption, this gives a full range of a bit over 400km. I normally plan to recharge every 300km so I have something up my sleeve. The Entertainment side of the system is excellent with AM/FM and DAB+ radio (living in a rural area I appreciate the AM) as well as Spotify. And of course you can plug in your own media. My main criticisms of the vehicle are the fonts used for the speed limit sign and target cruise speed on the drivers binnacle, they are all but illegible and could easily be fixed with a software upgrade. The drivers binnacle also needs a clip on sunshade. These are just little things but would turn a very good vehicle into one that is near perfect.
First of all, thanks for the review. It was quite comprehensive. However, I do miss reference to the different signs on the notification status line (where the hill decent angle is noted) - there are several signs which are not clear.
You don't have to press a physical button to exit aa. Just press the byd button on the aa screen and it exits to the car default interface. Annoyed me at first too.
Heads up on keeping sunroof open when locking on terrifying Oz winter days Bbbbr , lol. Even more amusing is the heated seats . The cars been made, designed with security and safety on WW basis. So when you lock the roof it will always correctly close. Heated seats for Oz. lol
Hello my Atto 3 has this same version but its a chinese imported, I changed the language to english but I cant change the voice commands to english, they still appear in chinese, any help?
There is a icon on your AA screen that says BYD which takes you back to the BYD OS from your AA or AC system. Some may like to have access to Waze or ABRP or Plugshare perhaps which BYD doesn't offer. I did hear though that they are bringing Netflix & Disney+ would assume UA-cam as well is coming in a future update(OTA).
So in Android Auto, are you referring to the BYD app icon (on the app select screen)? I didn't try that as I thought it would launch the app, which would probably not work as its plugged into the car. IE, you can't run AA and have the same app open on your phone and on your screen at the same time. NB - Google maps now allows this which is great.
@@chrisvanderstock I know having watched Tesla Tom use his Iphone with the Atto 3 that there is an icon you hit and was sure it was the BYD icon but it's on the screen just can't remember which one it is that returns you to the BYD system from AA or AC.
@@chrisvanderstock Yes the BYD icon, top left as seen at 6:38 in your video. tap and it takes you back to the home screen; or voice command "show home screen"
@@chrisvanderstockI have a very old hyundai car and it has the Hyundai logo which get me out of the android auto back to the native os of the system. I this BYD will have the same. If I am not wrong once you are in AA to go back this is the only soft button.
Wanted to know how the parking and sentry cameras work. Can you view it on an app? Does it take a lot of battery to use? Would you catch a hit and run or someone keying your car? Is it always on or do you need to turn it on?
I could but I fear it would make the video too long and boring? Not sure. I've got the BMW i7 for review in April and its system is worthy of a video like this so I'll endeavour to give it a good hot go. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@chrisvanderstock yes, i can see that would be something to consider. It would depend upon your audience and that may be difficult to discern. May be just have the visual of the route. As a Hertz renter with a battery charging problem I found nothing in this video helpful. Whoever this video is aimed at it’s not for the BYD novice driver. Basic tips on trouble shooting would be useful. There’s nothing in the user manual. BYD UK support is almost non existent
The BYD ATTO 3 has an impressive touch screen system which is pretty close to the Tesla experience as you'll get. In it, you can control car settings, air conditioning, dash-cam/sentry mode, lights and more. Want a deep dive? This is the video for you. Good video. Disappointing the integrated sat nav doesn’t include charging stops on long journeys. Even my ID3 does and to be fair the Software is poor. That’s a negative for me.
Not a boy racer but bonnet shapes or hood is lame . If any clever aftermarket body kit makers want to make it look a little more handsome /slightly more aggressive before byd work this out for themselves please get your design juices out . I havnt got these type of design skills but maybe if it didnt effect the air streamline too much make a nice sexy moody colour coded air intake that runs across about 2 thirds of the bonnet , 2.5 inches off the bonnet surface , 4.5 inches deep , could be a winner as in body add ons

Ii like the maps in Android better than the ones from BYD.
Fair! And I guess if you're a fan of Waze or something else, the choice is even easier to make.

Glad you liked it!
Hi, is there any built-in function like a dash cam recording video during driving please? Thank you.
I have the dolphins, very similar car, it doesn't officially have a dash camera in NZ but apparently it's a drop in part available online.
bella recensione hai detto cose chiare e giuste speriamo in aggiornamenti migliori
Hi is 5inch cluster meter have themes that we can change?
Thanks for the detailed video. Can we change that greenish screen background colour of main display screen & small screen behind steering wheel?
Must be have driver profiles and each profile can be related to a car key.
Really well made video. Nice!
Thank you very much!
Where is the turn off wireless charging switch?
How to enter camera calibration menu? I need calibrate 360 camera

Why red lines are appearing at the bottom of the screen of this car? Is it normal or screen problem?

Could you do a video on the Kia Niro system similar to this one please?
Okay, I'll see if I can organise with Kia.
