    ℹ️ About the Episode:
Thanks for waiting an extra week for this episode! Last week (in real time), we were riding across Iowa on the 50th anniversary of RAGBRAI, a two-part series we'll share next month. In this episode, we pick up where we left off as we make our way from Cape Breton to Prince Edward Island (PEI) and the Bay of Fundy to ride the tide-something we highly recommend when you visit Nova Scotia! This has been a wonderful season to share, mostly due to the hospitality of all the Nova Scotians we've met. We've said before that everywhere we travel is friendly, but people in certain parts of the world lead with a different type of friendliness. We've found Nova Scotia to be very much "my home is your home." Thanks to John & Krista Blaauwendraat for inviting us to their home and dairy farm, and to ride the tide with Shubie River Wranglers. As it turns out, their kids are guides, making the experience even more personal and special. With the biggest tide in the world at 52 feet, riding the tide is a unique experience that we highly recommend when you visit Nova Scotia. There were many highlights from this season, but this just might be at the top of Caleb's list!

Trish’s enthusiasm knows no bounds. It makes her even cuter. My wife tells me I can’t love her (because I’m married to her, and all) so that’ll just have to be our secret.
And Caleb and Marc never disappoint. Line after line that just knock me out. So I guess I can love you all. As a group.
Glad the hostages survived. You are all troopers. Trish for putting up with your indifference, and Marc and Caleb for drawing the line, and keeping it at mere indifference.
    Everyone wins.

What fun! My high school friend, Schuyler Grant played Diana Barry in the Anne of Green Gables series. We were at a party at her house just last month. I remember when she disappeared for a few months from school to go film. When we saw it, it was funny because Schuyler is a blonde and Diana is a brunette. Schuyler didn’t look like herself. Now she’s quite a yoga master in Los Angeles.

[Just kidding reply ...] Looking actress name up on internet, she is 180 ° different. In Anne series, the character liked to sit inside and read books..., so Diana kinda had different energy than Anne. Megan Follows seems like Anne. A blonde California, yoga instructor...Schuyler Grant is totally not Diana. Kids would run if she tried to do Diana as herself at LM Montgomery's house. Just a little here's your favorite character that LM Montgomery made alive & breathing..eternal,...playtime heroes....but now has own Pacific story. 🏖🍷

That cow milking robot is fantastic! Definitely an application of automation I fully support. I grew up around dairy farms. Friends have taken me through their operation where it was half automated where the farmer had to manually put the suckers on each nipple twice a day. He’s not kidding when he says their quality of life has drastically improved! I was so happy when I heard him say that

Great video! You are such an excellent producer and videographer. Not to mention funny. We were scheduled to do that river trip last year during our visit but my Husband was not feeling well. Now that I see it it might have been a good decision, Eric has MS and sometimes does not move so well. I really fear he may have got “stuck in the mud” pun intended . Thanks for sharing and allowing us the virtual experience!!

I’m so proud of you, Marc and Caleb, for going to PEI with Trish. It doesn’t sound like it quite lived up to the hype, but perhaps it was a full circle moment. Just wanted to say thanks for showing RV life. As a result of following you and others, my husband and I watched tonight’s episode from our fifth wheel. We’re waiting for two offers on our 3K sq ft house. The fifth wheel is our full-time residence, and we will take our Little Guy out for weekend excursions. Before we began watching your adventures, this was not our daydream. But we took the leap to downsize in order to invest in our relationship before we retire. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good old Bay of Fundy mud slingin' and mud sliding! Your shirts may never be white again! The bay waters all converge at a narrow point in Truro in Central Nova Scotia, not far from Maitland where you were filming your adventure on the Shubenacadie River. The road to Maitland washed out in the flash floods of the past two weeks. You got there before then or maybe after it was repaired. Flash flooding this past weekend destroyed the road repairs there again, I believe. The tidal bore coming in can be watched from the visitors centre off the 102 highway at Truro daily. The moon affects the height of the tides and the bore. The power of the tides is to be respected. Companies from around the world have tried to harness that power but it breaks their equipment every time. My husband and son have done the tidal bore rafting while I filmed their adventure from the lookoff in Maitland. The Blauwendratt's are a well known farming family here, their family being part of the large immigration of Dutch folks to the Maritimes after the Second World War. Was your rafting guide actually their son? He sounded very knowledgeable. Fun to see the family's sophisticated fatm operation! The Agricultural College in Bible Hill across the Salmon River from Truro, now part of Dalhousie University, has a very good and long standing reputation for agricultural research and innovation in plant and animal sciences since the 1800s, and many farmers, horticulturalists, engineers and environmental studies grads have come from there. Students and staff also come from other countries to work and study at Dal AC, as it is now called. There is still a great deal of research and innovation happening at the campus. We had calves when I was growing up and it's fun to feed them. They have strong suction abilities, don't they? Lol! Rafting where you were has become a popular activity for tourists in the past 10 years with several outfits offering rides. Looks like you had a great guide! Was he a Blauwedratt boy? Happy you enjoyed Central Nova Scotia. It is not visited as much as the more iconic parts of the province like Peggy's Cove or Halifax, the South Shore or Cape Breton. Charlottetown is the capital city of Prince Edward Island, although it feels like a town! It is not a big city, but it is a pretty one.The wholesome Anne of Green Gables novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery is loved around the world, especially in Japan. The musical, Anne of Green Gables, has been running every summer in Charlottetown for decades and is a wonderful show! The tv series has been a huge hit as well. Charlottetown is also were the Fathers of Confederation met in to officially unite and form our country. PEI is wholesome... clean with tidy properties cared for with pride, beautiful gardens as you mentioned with their moderate summer climate, slow- paced, red sand beaches, rolling farmland, and welcoming people. It has been a beloved tourist destination for decades. You are terrific visitors to our region! Open- minded, fun, authentic, curious and respectful. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe trip and avoid the heavy rains that have oddly and harshly struck our region this summer. ( Oh, and be sure to check Charlie and yourselves regularly for those nasty ticks we've been plagued with in recent years, thanks to climate change.) I look forward to your next videos. Always fun to see or part of the world from a visitor's point of view. Bon voyage!

I was 3 years old when my family travel from Ontario to the Maritimes in a 1959 VW Beetle. Stopping in Quebec, New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia. There was my parents and 4 kids, I being the youngest. We camped in a tent and even though I was very young I still have memories of that trip. I returned to Nova Scotia when I was 10. I traveled by train from Toronto by myself. What an adventure.
We retire next year and will plan to return to the Maritimes in the next few years. I will use your trip this year as a tool to plan our travels.
    Enjoy your time in Canada!

Interesting about the starlink! Our Canadian Starlink does not do the same when we travel south of the border. VPN was required last winter in Yuma, AZ to watch our Canadian content.

20 years ago my college choir toured through the Maritimes and this series had been bringing back so many fun memories. Now I’m a homeschool mom, we’re getting ready to read AOGG this year and I’m itching to go back to PEI with my family! Thanks for sharing so many great stops with us!

Luv Marks comparisons between Gren Gables and Harry Potter. Now if we could just get into Diagon Alley at Universal for $8.50/Adult.
