My Janny and I went”On and New Adventure” in 2012 to Nova Scotia. Our greatest memory were the people we met along the way. The local people who stopped in the middle of the road to help us find the campground we were looking for and then offered to lead us to the campground. There were 20 cars stopped behind them waiting for them and no one honked a horn! Everyone was like that. We love them!
My brother has been a baker there for 30 years ...sour dough bread is his job there ... and once a day, the guards come down and charge him for stealing a chicken and drag him off to the jail house , while he argues and screams he is not a thief all the way.
My friend (who hails from the province) once taught me how to pronounce Newfoundland by the fact that it rhymes with "understand" so "un'-der-stand New'-fund-land". I always love when I get to visit the maritimes (from Ontario)
Every time someone tries to pull the wool over my eyes, I say to them, "I'm from Newfoundland, not Disneyland!" (Although Newfoundland is a magical place. Lol.)
Our winters in coastal Nova Scotia include lots of freezing and thawing which creates potholes in the roads. The winters in the rest of Canada, except coastal BC are colder so the roads do not heave so much. It is something we and visitors have to accept here, caused by our milder winters. Repairs in the summer are always happening somewhere in the province!
We have just spent 3 amazing weeks in Canada and now can't wait to return with our own Motorrhome! Thank you for all the information we truly appreciate that.
We just got back from 2 weeks in Newfoundland. We don't have an Airstream (yet), so we did b&b's and took our little Ford Fiesta. What an amazing time that was! I surely hope you can make it to this province sometime. It's amazing! The people, the landscape, the food, the history - can't go wrong. We saw many RV's as well during our stay. We had 2 bonus days in Nova Scotia staying with friends on the East Shore. An all around A+ travel experience. I hope more people travel to the Maritime provinces and Newfoundland/Labrador. There's so much to explore! We live right along the ME/NB border. I'm glad you got to go the NS this summer!
Our 2020 F350 started doing all kinds of strange things on our spring trip. Dome lights coming on, DEF faults, collision avoidance off, all kinds of crazy stuff. Never once any error reported indicating low voltage from the batteries. Finally, it didn't start one morning in Franklin, NC. I pulled the batteries and went to the parts house. One battery had a bad cell and the other was discharged. I was going to replace just one, but they made me a good deal on two, so I replaced both. Installed the new batteries and VROOM! Big Booty Judy roared to life with zero errors!
Such a wonderful, polished review of our beautiful Maritime provinces. 🇨🇦 You continue to present your content with respect to which your RV UA-cam counterparts can learn from. Thank you 🙏
We did a very similar route the first 3 weeks of June and would live to do it again in a few years. So many places to visit! Add the Halifax Citadel and Louisbourg Fortress if ever you come back!
I lived in N.S. for six years back in the 90's, and lived for five years in Annapolis Royal. Simply a very beautiful, peaceful, and historical place to live. I moved back to Oregon, but long to get back for a visit. Thanks for the video.
We did our trip to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI from July 13-Aug 17. 5 weeks and still so much left unseen. We will go back. Cabot trail was amazing but we could not do the skyline trail because we had our dog with us, also the day we were there the morning was very foggy so we wouldnt have seen anything on the skyline. All in all a fantastic trip
Such a thoughtful, informative and complementary recap of you tour. Thanks from a Canadian. We need this sort of good news as the daily gov't & msm news will depress you up here.
We have just returned from Canada. You have a beautiful country. We are returning next year with our own van so we can tour more. This time we done Vancouver Jasper Whistler Banff And much much more ❤
I just returned from 4 weeks touring Canada, in many of the same locations. It was nice to see in the video some of the places I also visited! I disagree with you about the roads, however. The Trans-Canada Highway is TERRIBLE! Patchy, potholes, and the big trucks have worn "ruts" in the road which cause your rig to bounce around as though it was in a windstorm! Loved Nova Scotia, especially the Cabot Trail and Halifax. I also enjoyed Louisbourg, with its recreation of pre-revolutionary life. Beautiful country, and a beautiful video. (As a retired video professional, I appreciate the work you put in to bring us a new video every Sunday!)
We loved the gravel bike trails in Nova Scotia. No traffic and beautiful views. The Marsh trail near Halifax and the Celtic Coastal Trail in Cape Breton were great.
Great video. My dad was a minister and spent time on Prince Edward Island years ago. I've never been there but this video makes me put it on my list of places to visit. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Tricia thank you for the recap of Nova Scotia as was an amazing adventure. I'm sure your getting Calub ready for his first year in college. Truly will be missing him as love his personality. Always miss y'all when your in between seasons and get so excited when your back. Hugs to loveable Charlie. Do take care and Love ya.
Thank you for sharing. From another Canadian there is always a lot to see an little to time to do it in. My goal is to concentrate on 1 province at a time. As I get older and travel with my mother & aunt, we need more down time between attractions. It is always great watching your videos. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for making this video. I live in Calgary ab and haven’t been to the east coast yet . One day will rv across Canada and go see all the beautiful places of the east coast.
I am sure the Nova Scotia tourism board will be in contact with you🤣. They will want to share your video..... as always you did an amazing job! Glad you got to experience a few different sights, sounds and tastes. It is great to watch these videos, sometimes we need a reminder of just how great it is here. My parents were big RVers and there really isn’t a part of Nova Scotia we didn’t touch, we even stayed on Oak Island! (Pretty sure you can’t do that now!).
Enjoyed this series as we just finished the Maritimes. Your right about Newfoundland. You’ll have to go back!! We are heading to your neck of the woods in two weeks for a 25 day caravan.
Really enjoyed seeing your journey to Nova Scotia. Such a beautiful place to visit; breathtaking scenery and just the sheer fun you had while you were there. Your narration of this video was perfect Trish. Hope you all are doing well. Safe travels!
Excellent summary. Thank you. Trish, great narration. Mark: you've got to get a Hover X1. We love ours. What a game changer for filming. You should see if they will let you be a product evaluator. Battery life is short, so you'll need a few batteries for longer film time. It comes with 2 and we're ordering 2 more.
Just now saw this episode… For the hitch ball, just little bit of brake caliper grease. It last a really long time. And me and my equalizer hitch it helps to stop the squeaking.
Great suggestions for travel on the Canadian East Coast. I'd add in the Alexander Graham Bell museum and Louisburg as must dos on Cape Breton Island. Newfoundland, though ,you need 4 to 6 weeks to do it justice.
The Fortress of Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island is one of the largest if not the largest historically accurate reconstructions in Canada, maybe even in North America. You could spend the day there exploring the property and its many buildings, learning the fascinating history, taking you back in time with costumed animators recounting daily life in within the fortress walls and beyond. The Old Town Trail on the road to the fortress tells even more history of the settlement and you can visit the beach where the English soldiers landed before capturing the Fortress from the French for the final time, changing the fate of Nova Scotia and the French presence in North America. Learn of the link with Louisianna and its Acadian French connection. Across the harbour is the amazingly beautiful Lighthouse Trail which winds its was along the wild, natural landscape . Stay at the Northstar Resort near the fortress, a newly renovated resort on the ocean owned by the Scottish tv personalities and designers known simply as "Colin and Justin". The food at their resort is amazing and they are there to entertain their guests along with local live musicians. The fortress itself played an enormous part in the history of the settlement of North America and it alone is worth visiting. Expect fog and cold conditions in some seasons as it is perched on the North Atlantic coast. Enjoy your stay!
I have always wanted to drive the Trans-Labrador highway and see Nova Scotia, PEI, Cape Breton, NB and Quebec. I have those added to my bucket list. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us.
About many businesses in Canada not accepting American Express credit cards...the fees AMEX charges retailers is quite high, that's just the fact. The place I work for out here in Vancouver BC won't even entertain the thought of accepting AMEX because of the sky high fees compared to Visa and Mastercard.
So glad you enjoyed your trip to Nova Scotia. Did you have a chance to visit the Fortress of Louisbourg in Cape Breton? We hope you can come back again sometime.
Did the Atlantic Provinces about a year ago. Quite accurate as you have described it. We loved the Ski Cape Smokey ski lift ride on the Cabot Trail. Amazing views and a very relaxing place. Biggest disappointment was three or four trips out to Peggy's Cove for the required pictures and EVERY TIME it was socked in with fog/sea smoke....!
I really appreciate all the info you include in your videos about places you visit, this one was no different I hope you can make it back to Newfoundland in a few years it is indeed a beautiful province with so much to see but I would suggest seeing its my home province three weeks would be a decent time frame but still not enough time .:) We are are vast Island but would love to see you here and do believe you will truly enjoy when you do visit Safe travels.
really wonderful job of your wife narrating this!! Love ya both, but, it was nice seeing the scenery and the education provided, as well as the fun. :}
As a new (well moved here from England 40 years ago )Nova Scotian, or "Bluenoser" as we are called I liked your videos, you hit some great places BUT I think you missed one of the best. Fortress Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island, It is a National Historic site that was, 300 years ago, the Capital of Nova Scotia then known as Ile Royale. It was owned by the French then English and back and forth a few times. During the summer the Fortress has people living in it full time, they dress as they did 200 years ago, even the entry gates are guarded by French soldiers who challenge you as you enter. I am originally from London England so am quite familiar with old buildings being guarded by men in strange uniforms, the Tower of London for example. Fortress Loiusborg may not have the Crown Jewels to look at nor can you stand where Anne Boleyn lost her head but for me the buildings of Fortress Louisbourg and it's restoration is, as a historic site , twice as good as the Tower. Just my two cents.
Thanks for all the videos yall do it always interesting ,and pretty places, and imformation helping so many people live long and prosperi, and have a blessed week!
Very nice reflection on your trip to Nova Scotia... I really enjoyed it. My only experience in the NE area of Canada was landing in St John's and having a layover on my way to Iceland.
When you turned off at Sault St Marie Ontario to head States side in your last video , you missed such a beautiful scenic drive along Lake Superior …towards Thunder Bay …it compares to the drive along the California coast line for it’s sheer beauty ….maybe in some later yrs you will get the chance to enjoy this drive folks . Love , love , love your Maritimes videos ☺️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Do go to Newfoudland. It is stunning. We did it last year with our trailer but we do recommend a class c or b , so many small fishing villages and things to see . Whales 5 feet from shore to puffens icebergs and the home made baked goods and sea food is second to none
Crossing the border - Whether it is as a traveller or when it comes to exports, the reasons for the questions related to plants and animals is to prevent the introduction of plant and animal diseases/pests (phytosanitary measures). While the USA has every reasons to be concerned with oranges, Canada not so much since it not being grown here. Both countries have a large poultry industry and, in 2022, saw many outbreaks of avian flu on both sides of the border. Even within each country, several movement restrictions were in place as farms were found infected. Firewood is also a high risk as dead/dying trees are cut and contributing to the movement of many forest pests (Emerald Ash Borer, etc.). We depend on agriculture and the environment for our food and employment. Let's be smart.
Thank you for capturing my home provinces so beautifully! I grew up in NS and now live down the road from the bottle house in PEI. Both are special in their own ways.
“Next season of travel”….without Caleb ..boo hoo hoo 😢 I’m gonna miss him !!! The other kids weren’t around as long so it wasn’t as painful but we’ve watched Caleb grow up !!! Blessings
Sweet embrace for all the Canada & Countries subsiding in it through the thoroughfares of driveability‼️🏞️🛣️. Your energy & excitement was excellent in pervailing the scape of the land & water, reflection of Caleb, Trish & Mark .....
Oak island is not accepting visitors since 2022(maybe since2021) as they are using the visitor center for some new equipment for carbon dating artifacts that they fine😢 But that didn’t stop me from at least trying an seeing the causeway an the island from a distance 👍 also you should put Campobello on you list for next time an tour FDR’s home (it’s free) and there are 2800 acres to explore plus the Provincial park is just down the road an very affordable an clean Love watching you guys keep up the great work you do
I live 10 mins away from Wolfville. Thanks as haven’t been to many places you mention, well Quebec mostly. My son in law is from Sydney. They are moving back there soon. And my husband is from PEI. Lol. We lived n Newfoundland and it is beautiful as well, very rugged but similar to CB. You would love NF
Awesome and very informative, love all of your stops and suggestions. I can’t help it,but I have to comment on the aerial video, outstanding! I remember the video Mark did about his arsenal of photography tools however I don’t remember seeing a drone. What aerial platform do y’all use? Love the great work and editing as always was spot on. Be safe and enjoy.
In Canada, the Mavic Mini, but normally the Mavic Air 2S. However, the Cabot Trail shot was purchased as we got bad weather and I think the Cabot Trail is a National Park area anyway.
@@KeepYourDaydream Thank you, DJI in my biased opinion has the best affordable camera drones out there. I am still flying my phantom 4 and looking to upgrade. Thanks again.
Exhalant recap. Several times you say you saw things but didn't have time for them. How do you decide how much time to set aside for an area? Love the traffic sines especially around Quebec. Had picture's of one you could tell yes it was in English's but had started out in French. One of the scrolling illuminated sines said "Traffic is proceeding correctly".
I was watching the F450 review video earlier which then turned into the F250.... MARK!!! We need more reviews!! What new cool stuff are you using that I can't live without?
@@KeepYourDaydream I can't wait to see that one!! Looking forward to it!! I am dying to know if you'll change out your refrigerator. Any chance you'll give a peek into the update on that?
Say "newfen"......now say "land". Put em together. That's how you say it. Nothing puts us off quicker than saying it wrong. "Not from around here are ya" is what they'll say to ya. If you get the pronunciation right they'll love you for it. Now I'm Newfoundlander living in Nova Scotia and I really enjoyed these videos. I've been here for almost 20 years now and this summer was by far.....and I mean by FAR, the worst summer I've ever experienced weather-wise. I hope you caught us during some of the decent days we had because there wasn't many. It's been such an unusual summer for us..... raining every other day just isn't the norm.
Newfoundland is worth the trip! If you go before the end of July you may see icebergs in iceberg alley. We spent 10 days meeting long lost family. Get screeched in ;)
Newfoundland is beautiful!! How did you find driving down the number 2 highway through New Brunswick with your rig? Drove through there on our way home last year and was surprised how few places for fuel there is.
In 2005 my wife sent me to check out N.S. I cruised around for 10 days camping in my pickup truck, with my dog. Upon returning to Vermont she said
My Janny and I went”On and New Adventure” in 2012 to Nova Scotia. Our greatest memory were the people we met along the way. The local people who stopped in the middle of the road to help us find the campground we were looking for and then offered to lead us to the campground. Thanks from this Maritimer!
Truly enjoyed Nova Scotia when we went. Our destination was Fort Louisburg where my family came into from Paris in 1650. Found the people really nice.
My brother has been a baker there for 30 years ...sour dough bread is his job there ... and once a day, the guards come down and charge him for stealing a chicken and drag him off to the jail house , while he argues and screams he is not a thief all the way.
Wow!
What people? Louisbourg is a ghost town.
Lol.)
I’m from Cape Breton and I must say you missed the best part. You should have done the entire Cabot Trail. Ingonish is the crown jewel .
Maybe better that way 😜
Hell, another amazing part isn't technically on the trail. Cape North is absolutely gorgeous, and takes you around the peak of the island.
Yes we drove it twice very nice
You guys make our Country Proud... from this Canadian who hasn't seen all this out East.... Thank you Glad you enjoyed yourselfs
Just finished the episode from a couple of weeks ago. I think a Caleb top 20 list would be a good episode in between seasons.
Good idea!
Yes!!
I’ve been watching you guys for years. I actually drove by you in New Glasgow. Thank you for the kind review.
Our winters in coastal Nova Scotia include lots of freezing and thawing which creates potholes in the roads. We just got back from 2 weeks in Newfoundland. We don't have an Airstream (yet), so we did b&b's and took our little Ford Fiesta. What an amazing time that was! I'm a Newfoundlander and i'm so happy to hear you enjoyed your visit to my home , so much to see and experience. :)

So true, thank you for your insights on this part of Canada…. ‘made a Canadian proud!
We have just returned from Canada. You have a beautiful country. We are returning next year with our own van so we can tour more. This time we done Vancouver Jasper Whistler Banff And much much more ❤
Beautiful people and country!! Such a Lovely video, thank you so much
We have been here in Nova Scotia for about a month now and love it!!

Heading to Canada in spring 2024. Hopefully will get to go further north than Deep River, Ontario! Such beautiful scenery!!
Your presentation of Nova Scotia recap was outstanding 👏
the free Nova Scotia tourism book is a great thing to have along as well. comes with a map.
What a terrific, informative video! Thank you. Waving hello from the 1000 Islands 🇨🇦
What a helpful recap of your Nova Scotia travels. Thank you!

As a Canadian Nova Scotia is my favourite province.

These have been my favorite videos you have done. Thank you for all of this.
Loved this series. Great job. Safe Travels Amigos 👊
Love this recap of your amazing trip! Wonderful memories before Caleb goes back to school. Great narration Trish!
Don't plan on going up yonder. Thanks for going for us and showing the beauty of up yonder.
Always so much useful information in the recaps. Thanks so much! 🙂
Just now saw this episode… For the hitch ball, just little bit of brake caliper grease. It last a really long time. And me and my equalizer hitch it helps to stop the squeaking.

I love these recap episodes.
Happy Sunday, everyone! Love yall 3000!
Did the Atlantic Provinces about a year ago. Quite accurate as you have described it. We loved the Ski Cape Smokey ski lift ride on the Cabot Trail. Amazing views and a very relaxing place. really wonderful job of your wife narrating this!! Love ya both, but, it was nice seeing the scenery and the education provided, as well as the fun. :}
Even though we are not RV'ers, this video provided many excellent tip for our upcoming trip to NS, Cape Breton and PEI!!! Thank you!

Agree. This deserves to be on everyone’s list…waaaay above Oak Island!
Yes indeed, on a score of 1 to 10 Oak Island would not make a 1 (other than TV fame) Fortress Louisbourg a 10+.
Thanks for all the videos yall do it always interesting ,and pretty places, and imformation helping so many people live long and prosperi, and have a blessed week!
Thank y’all for a great video! And the trip information, that’s very helpful. Safe travels ❤
Great job with the narration Trish!
Hi just wanted to say thanks for the video on backing up (a few years ago). Backed up a few times now without too much trouble and no yelling.
Nice review. Doing a 3 month trip this summer. Adirondacks, Thousand Islands, Quebec, Gaspe Peninsula,😊 Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Maine. Can't wait.
Very nice reflection on your trip to Nova Scotia... I really enjoyed it. My only experience in the NE area of Canada was landing in St John's and having a layover on my way to Iceland.

Spent time in my family history area of Cape Breton. St. Peters and Sampsonville NS.
I love the east coast, next trip I hope to do the jump over to Maine.
Do go to Newfoudland. It is stunning. We did it last year with our trailer but we do recommend a class c or b , so many small fishing villages and things to see .

Wow. Amazing information thank you!!! This vid is fantastic, one for the records!!! I will save it for our own trip. Thank you thank you.
This is now on our bucket list!

"That's when you tap out?" LOLZ. You guys are great together!
Thank you for capturing my home provinces so beautifully! I grew up in NS and now live down the road from the bottle house in PEI. Both are special in their own ways.
@amandalinklet My husband is from Miscouche. Lol we now live in Annapolis valley.
“Next season of travel”….without Caleb ..boo hoo hoo 😢 I’m gonna miss him !!!
The other kids weren’t around as long so it wasn’t as painful but we’ve watched Caleb grow up !!!
Blessings
I've been thinking that they should cast a new kid to take on the role - like Cousin Oliver on The Brady Bunch or Andy Keaton on Family Ties. 😊
So sad 😢
Wonderful video, beautiful NS.
Question; have the boys seen the bike tire that is airless?
Great memories ❤ Safe Travels ❤️🤍💙 What are we going to do when Caleb heads to college 😢
Sweet embrace for all the Canada & Countries subsiding in it through the thoroughfares of driveability‼️🏞️🛣️. Your energy & excitement was excellent in pervailing the scape of the land & water, reflection of Caleb, Trish & Mark .....
Thank you for the information. Blessings
I love your videos. Thanks for sharing them and your travels 😊….. Lisa
Oak island is not accepting visitors since 2022(maybe since2021) as they are using the visitor center for some new equipment for carbon dating artifacts that they fine😢
But that didn’t stop me from at least trying an seeing the causeway an the island from a distance 👍 also you should put Campobello on you list for next time an tour FDR’s home (it’s free) and there are 2800 acres to explore plus the Provincial park is just down the road an very affordable an clean
Love watching you guys keep up the great work you do
I live 10 mins away from Wolfville.
Excellent video, as always. Thank you
Exhalant recap.
I was wondering if you would get to Oak Island. I'm a big fan..very interesting!
I was watching the F450 review video earlier which then turned into the F250.... MARK!!! We need more reviews!! What new cool stuff are you using that I can't live without?
I was going to do a video on what mods were not really worth it or I wouldn't do again. There are some changes.
@@KeepYourDaydream I can't wait to see that one!! Looking forward to it!! I am dying to know if you'll change out your refrigerator. Any chance you'll give a peek into the update on that?
Another great video, Thanks for sharing.
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
You'll find Amex isn't taken in many places in Canada. Visa or MC are the way to go.
Great info - love your travels! Judy & Steph aka Rebel
Thank you so special!
35 minutes of driving is about my tap-out time too! 😂😂
Great Video! I enjoyed it!!
Great fun!
