Fun Day at Fundy: Camping New Brunswick
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 сер 2021
- My first camping trip to New Brunswick Canada was to Fundy National Park. A diverse biosphere, there's lots to explore here from the world's largest tides to the thick lush forests and cascading water falls.

You Slim are an amazing story teller and video creator.
So few UA-cam creators slow down enough to really immerse the viewers into the essence of the place.
Love the time lapse of tide & beach fog.
Thank you, as always, for allowing me to travel with you via video. It soothes this disabled, housebound, nature lovers soul. 🍁🇨🇦 🕊
Well stated
Its always a great day when I get to see “Slim Potoatohead Presents”
Yip.
Totally agree. It's a breath of fresh air, especially when I know we're hitting near 100 F today.
something about your content that relaxes me all the time Slim. thanks!
@@johnswof yes..here too in Pa..
Agreed!
I've flown a Canadian flag at my house for 30 years. I change it just before Canada day every year. Best country on earth.
Slim takes us along as he witnesses the stunning beauty of Fundy National Park. What a day-maker Slim's fine videos have become for me.
"The short end of a long, long pier if you don't drink a New Brunswick beer!" I giggled out loud! Thank you, Slim!
Ha ha ha, I so enjoyed this video. "Vomit texture", "go back to Alberta", good stuff! To your fans, finding a new Slim Potatohead video is such a treat.
true dat
There is something calming about sitting under the awning or in the camper while it's raining. It still makes for a fun trip.
Love the "Go back to Alberta" schtick! So funny 😂 but we hope you stay.
Even in the rain Slim always knows how to cheer us up.
Just seeing coastal morning fog and rain when I'm stuck in 90° heat in L.A. is good enough for me. I'm jelly!
Who doesn't just love the smell of the forrest when it rains.... its such an earthy rich beautiful smell.... I love camping in the rain.... it gives me meditation time.... well worth it.... Doc.... p.s. Thanks for sharing Slim.... You Rock :)
Oh some folks take trips in luxury Ships, And some in gasoline wagons (JEEP) And others swear by the upper air on the wings of Flying Dragons, Let each make haste to indulge their taste, Be it beer, champagne, or hard cider, but my favorite joy as a man and a boy is being Fundy Bay Ferry Rider (If you can get a ticket on)
That "Go Back to Alberta" line was a classic!
gonna need new plates
She didn't say please so I don't think she was a Canadian.
SP...you and your extremely talented videos are a pleasure to watch. Just outstanding! Seriously, your content is better than anything I can watch on TV. Absolutely spectacular views. The camera work and choice of music is perfection. Looking forward to the next SP adventure.😁👍👍👍👍👍
This man uzzes talent. From his dialect to stunning photography! From his amazing sense of humor to his endless ability to engineer things to work better. And he's good looking/intelligent & has that calm demeanor. Thanks Slim 👍🙋💕
Greetings from Alberta. We stayed at Fundy Nat'l Park in May 2017. The campground was closed, but they had 6 or 7 sites open for early season travelers like us. Enjoyed a great seafood meal in Alma. It's short walk from the campground. Get out your sou'wester, slicker and rubber boots and enjoy your east coast explorations. We certainly enjoyed ours.
Loved the montage of the waterfall, especially the section with 1/4 speed effect. Ditto for the forming of the fog sequence.
I think I enjoy his POV from inside the camper when it’s raining better than anything else lol
Oh yes, this day just got better ... thank you Slim 😊
A rainy day in a trailer is a perfect day to take a nap. The sound of the rain hitting the roof of the trailer lulls me to sleep. The ultimate white noise.
Also, loved the go back to Alberta bit, thanks for the laugh.
Wow; now that's a bird's eye view of the running creek and falls. Slim you are always ingenious with your idea's! Some idea's are goofy but some are just brilliant or clever. Thanks for sharing Canada what a nice place to live.
We're in the middle of a thunderstorm in Chiang Mai, whilst watching Slim in the Fundy rain 🌧 😳 providing multiple sound effects!
Raining here in Udon too !
We'll howdy Thailand from here in LA. Lower Alabama that is...
Thanks for this! My grandmother was born and raised in New Brunswick, Loggieville, to be specific. She married my American grandfather and left Canada behind. I hope to get there one day.
Really enjoyed the cascades. So peaceful there. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Thanks for the beautiful New Brunswick video. It brings back some wonderful Maritimes memories.
Thanks once again for the good memories. I was stationed in New Brunswick in 1970 to 1974. I really enjoyed the countryside and the ocean. Namaste Jay
Slim enjoying a beer and gifting us with a sea chatty ... my day is complete
you, Sir, are very good at splicing and putting a video together. and the beginning scene, with you sitting and talking about the camp ground..."If it ain't raining -it ain't camping" (is a motto my family has)Love the sound of gentle rain on a tarp.Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Wow awesome falls, too many people take for granted all of our blessings we have..
Slim. You are unique but the world is a bit better because of folks like you. Keep making videos . Thanks
So pretty! I love that covered bridge and the falls. Funny too! Thanks Slim.
Good evening Slim, Glad you finally got in our next of the woods.
Slim it's going to take you years to see all of the amazing sights of the Atlantic provinces
Awesome scenery! You are the McGyver of ideas, Slim. Enjoying your vids as always. 🌲🐿️🏞️🇨🇦
Always looking ahead to the next Slim Potatohead video!
Just another rough day at the office for Slim Potatohead! I could only hope for a day like that. Thank you Slim.
A lot of effort and talent in that video...Kudos to you Sir, you made my backyard great honor! I thank you for it!!! JP, Dieppe, NB
This video trip with Slim was just captivating. Good to see you laughing and joking Slim. 🙃🙂
Thank you for the pretty falls and frogs.
Sinking fast singing about your beer with a clown umbrella hat on your head. "go back to Alberta "that gave me a good lol
My day looks better already!
only you Slim can make watching FOG enjoyable!! it was surprisingly pleasant watching the fog swirl around and trying to imagine the quietness. Sigh... wish i was there with you!
"Go Back to Alberta!", she said, with unmistakable Canadian kindness. - Thanks for another tour of Canada, Slim.
Wow- pitcher plants and frogs in the same camp out ! And no wildfires , and no crowds, with all that rain.
Thanks Slim, being in BC right now we would LOVE to have that rain. Nothing is a good as dozing under cover when camping in the rain.
You are an artist behind your camera 🙏
Clearly superior expression of national pride. Always refreshing to see your vids. Thx.
The rain, fog and mist adds another texture and aura to that area and you captured it well. Who else describes the desired look of their meal as looking like vomit? And you were “sinking fast” near the end of the video, so don’t quit your day job and try to become a singer ;-) loved the video, Slim. Thanks and stay well.
Always a pleasure Slim! Thanks :)
Your comedy / Handicraft with the Canadian umbrella gave me "Red Green" vibes.
Red's words of wisdom : "If The Girls Don't Find You Handsome, At Least Let 'Em Find You Handy"! 😁
You have it all, even your own heckler!
That line about going back to Alberta was funny. I wonder if Slim's headaches have improved?
Slim, your camera work here, as always, is exceptional!!!
All the hard work in the red bridge entrance has not gone unnoticed. I see it took 3 or 4 angles to get you driving across the main attraction, the bridge.
The waterfall was beautiful and at 1/4 speed, that was cool.
You're really out-doing yourself.
You're storytelling is exceptional as well. I love camping with you -all without leaving my cabin.
Lost a pair of Tretorns(shoes) in the tide by that covered bridge 35 years ago! What a treat to see it again!
Love the comment of your friend behind the scene.
100 PERCENT MUST DO'S IN ALMA. HOLY WHALE BREWING / BUDDAH BEAR COFFEE. On a Friday night with the local fishermen and their families. Kids and dogs too. Don"t forget Hopewell Rocks at low and high tides.
This scenery is very similar to Pitlochry in Scotland. The best time to go is after there's been a lot of rain to appreciate the waterfalls. You can also see the salmon leaping back upstream, great.
a good day to take a nap and enjoy the sound of the rain.
Ahhhh 20 mins of stress free video. Thanks Slim.
Morning coffee with slim priceless
What a gorgeous falls, going on a rain day makes it even better!
Thank you very much for making your videos. I greatly appreciate them and you. You bring me peace, I greatly appreciate it.❤
I LOVED this video! You are a great speaker (and singer of jingles) and the surroundings are extraordinarily beautiful!
Yeah! It's SLIM!!!!
Awesome idea with repurposing the "Canadian Flag Hat" , thumbs UP to that !
Oh wow the cascading water is beautiful and slowed down is even more beautiful.. thank you Slim for sharing.
Enjoy! Water from the heavens is a beautiful thing! Send some our way so I can fall peacefully asleep.
What's a Slim Potatohead video with out rain? Too bad you can't come out to Utah and bring some of that rain with you. We sure could use it. No one narrates a video quite like you. I love this one, it is a through back to your earlier videos. Slim enjoying nature and sharing it in beautiful narration. Thanks for another great video Slim! Take care and Godspeed!
The umbrella hat was hilarious. The waterfall scenes were so beautiful, I may watch this again later. Love 'ya Slim! Thanks for being you and sharing your travels with us!
Fog is what I remember most about my camping in Fundy. And that was 50 years ago.
Thanks Slim it’s beautiful there! 🤩👍👍👍💯💯💯
I was happy to hang out in the RV in the rain......so cozy.
We've always enjoyed your videos. This was one of the most beautiful and fun ones yet. Your sense of humor set a new "high water mark"! Thanks!
A truly beautiful park!! I really enjoyed your photography, as well!!!
Those hats were popularized locally, back in the 70’s, by Lou Brock, the St. Louis Cardinal’s late, beloved outfielder. They were called Brocka-brella’s ☺️
Ahhh so peaceful and refreshing. Reminds me of the Great Smokey mountain streams......at least as they were 50 yrs ago. Thank you Slim. Really.Thank You ✌️💕🖖
Thanks for taking your time, energy & equipment to record this adventure, one that I'd enjoyed as much as you did while filming & editing this very creative video.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
always so lovely and educative watching you Slim :D
You make amazing videos. I love the nature, the story and your humour. I also love the sound of nature instead of distracting music. And the cascading water in slow motion was a delight. Thank you for the good work and making me travel in the comfort of my home.
I made a mount for my phone out of pvc pipe and fittings and attached it to my kayak, to keep the sun and water from beating down on it. Then I installed a 10” plastic flower pot saucer on top and spray painted it the same color of my kayak. I like your idea as well it’s perfect for what your doing.
You are one of the Best Slim!!!
That is a fantastic umbrella hat conversion Slim. That area is so beautiful it is worth paying for.
Slim, believe it or not but you are in the heart of Sasquatch country. When the big guy shows himself run like hell as fast as you can. Be aware, he is much faster than you so he may make it to your camper before you. If he's standing there to greet you run like hell the other direction and make a game out of it. If that doesn't work offer him food, they love free food.
My dream has always been to see New Brunswick, land of my ancestors. Thank you, so much for going there and for sharing your wonderful filming style and adventures with us. From your fan, Stephanie Jones, still somewhere in the middle of a forest outside of Olympia, WA, USA. p.s. luv the patriotic camera hat.
Love the sound of the rain. Nice scenery.
You are one of my favorite poets.
The best way to tune out a bad reality, Tune in to Slim!!!
Thanks for the video and the rain is a welcome scene for me here in the South, N.C.,USA.Hot here in the low 90s all week.Rain should be here Sun.Love the wooden trails.
You bring us joy Slim, thank you!
Nice pics thanks mate. No rain no rainbows hey! And no rain no rivers, lakes and waterfalls too. Take Care.
Slim, I don’t know what you did before this channel, but the videography and narration is always awesome. I do remember going to the Bay of Fundy and watching the tide come in with every wave. That was cool. Thanks again.
I love your unique and informative narration. Keeps me coming back. Really evokes emotions
So clever regarding the camera under that umbrella. Here another idea you can do to the umbrella. Get another one. Keep the camera rod in place. Cover the full bottom of the umbrella with reflective, aluminum tape, then put a pot stand, or a stove grate to the camera rod. Make sure the camera rod is stainless steel. Now you have a homemade solar cooker. :) Just need some legs for the other side of the umbrella. :) All you need is the sun for fuel! Face the umbrella for the sun for high heat! For low heat face the shade. The umbrella needs to have a tilt to make this work. :) No smoke, soot, or flames blowing out of hand with the wind. Plus a solar stove can be used in fire bans. Just don't put a piece of wood, or paper by the solar reflective part. It can smoke and burst into flames in minutes, or even seconds. solsource solar stove. The umbrella will mimic a mini version of the solsource solar stove. Just wanted to share this. If you travel to hot spots like Arizona, this will be handy!
I enjoy your clever ideas and videos unearthing them to the public.
After seeing that umbrella I believe it’s time to change your name from slim to slick. That was pretty damn cool.
😂 ☕️ 🍺 🍺 🍩 🇺🇸 🇨🇦
Love the camera umbrella idea, genius.
You seem to be in an exceptionally good mood oh, I love it
I learned a LONG time ago that the best time to enjoy any provincial/state or national park is when the weather is far from optimal. Love the camera umbrella. I'm thinking you must be related to that famous Canadian Red Green
and yet again another brilliant video - Fundy park is in our back yard. After seeing this, I need to go once again to Fundy, especially to the falls.
I always enjoy your video's but today's video is one of your best. Two of the things I love are in your video's today; Rain and Water Falls !!! Keep up your Great Video's.....
Fundy rocks, Slim. N.B. should be funding you for such a great travelogue.
