You are an excellent representative for the pharmaceutical industry. Last month you lied about fasting and now you've taken aim at berberine. Keep up the good work I'm sure you are being rewarded for it
berberine has proven to be useful for me, especially for controlling blood sugar. But strangely what do you mean by posting this? I'm starting to doubt with your review
I’m a 63-year-old female both my parents died of heart disease. Berberine has lowered both my LDL and triglycerides and I’ve recently lost 15 pounds, I’ve carried for 20 years.
Ok. I used to listen to this guy, and trusted him,but this is the last time-my own excellent MD took me off Metformin ( which I actually tolerated very well) and I am on Berberine. now-both of us are delighted with the results.. I don’t listen to people who appear to stretch the truth about health matters in the interests of financial gain.
Personally, I have had far more positive results using Berberine in just a couple weeks than I did for with months of battling dangerously high glucose levels on Metformin. I understand that you have a vested interest in the pharmaceutical industry, as do many doctors, but ultimately, I'm going to listen to my body, especially with the healthcare industry in general gatekeeps access to care and medications away from so many of us in the US. @@gingerfuller4775 VitaMatic, it probably isn't the best, but it fits my meager budget and is going wonders for my blood sugar, triglycerides, and BP, so I will call it good enough for me, lol.
I am not a physician, but I am a diabetic who seeks to use natural remedies instead pharmaceuticals whenever possible or in addition to. I can definitively say that berberine along with dietary and lifestyle changes has most definitely helped me lower my a1c and glucose over the past year. I also use bioperine to enhance the bioavailability of berberine. I cannot speak for others as all of our bodies react differently to what we put inside of it. The fact is my a1c went from 11 down to 5 in less than a year and I have the medical records to prove it. Another fact metformin in many causes side effects that berberine does NOT.
I am on a keto diet and berberine supplementation has definitely helped me lose weight and cut sugar cravings. I can feel that my sugar cravings are higher when I am not on it.
I was in ketosis for nearly 18 months. When most people reintroduce carbs it takes them a few days or a week for their body to ramp insulin production back up. It has taken me 4 months and still working on it. Berberine (500mg before meals) knockes 25-30 points off my postprandial high blood glucose and seems to be speeding up my ability to tolerate increasing amounts of carbs without getting damagingly high blood sugar spikes.
@@jimlofts5433 have not measured c-peptide. In ketosis my total testosterone was up quite a bit but my free T tanked to below geriatric level. It's come back up a lot with the addition of small amount of carbs
He's supposedly a supplement expert/guru but he really always seems to knock any positives that people experience and pushes Rx meds. In this case, he mentions (albeit briefly) Ozempic. That is the hot new thing in Rx meds for diabetics and anyone that comes out w/ cautionary tales is set upon by the machine. That med makes me a bit nervous and the fact he shows it and mentions it by name among the GLP1 meds? Idk. I doubt he's a paid shill for big pharma & he seems smart and on top of things. And he does have very good information sometimes. He's worth watching if you have the time but unfortunately I work so much that I can't watch everything I'd like so I've had to unsubscribe from his channel.
Dr. Stanfield, I can only speak for myself and say that berberine works extremely well on me. I've tried several times on and off berberine. When on berberine, my weight drops from about 196 down to about 189. If I go off berberine it goes back up. I'm 6'3" and in pretty good shape. I do take a pretty large supplement stack for anti-aging so maybe there is something synergistic going on. I do regular blood profile panels and my numbers are all as expected including my glucose which is around 92 when fasting. As for me, I will be staying on berberine.
In one month on berberine, my wt dropped 6 lbs suddenly. It was start of summer, so don't know if it is water loss or berberine. Was the 6lbs lighter last fall, at end of summer if I remember correctly, but slowly creeped up.
@@mayumimabini2630 Never heard about dependence but it would be like saying you are dependent on vitamin d. If you aren't in a major calorie surplus, your weight would not go back up.
Berberine has the same intestinal side effects for me that Metformin has. I’ve tried taking it 3 times now and the same side effects occurred so I’m done with it.
Wrong! Taking Berberine has reduced my A1C from 6.4 to 5.6 and that’s without me changing my diet. So, you’ve come too late to tell me it doesn’t work.
Some studies have shown that berberine's main impact is in how it positively impacts gut bacteria and that leads to many downstream benefits. In any case, there is ample evidence that berberine is very helpful to a lot of people. I don't like how this channel is becoming increasingly negative and clickbaity.
I completely disagree with you on the inflammation aspect. I have an autoimmune disease, alopecia Areata and basically reversed and put it into remission with berberine. Berberine is a JAK3 inhibitor and is very powerful at downregulating inflammatory cytokines. Berberine has supposed poor bioavailability because it’s sort of used as a prebiotic for the gut microbiome and it reshapes the gut microbiome to give its health benefits. For example, it increases an important bacteria Akkermansia which grazes on mucin, which then tells the host to produce more mucin to protect the gut. The fact that it gives benefit via the gut microbiome means that its effect last much longer than JAK drugs and it does it in a more profound way. With regards to blood sugar, it certainly does lower it. I’ve tested this with a CGM. You can do your own experiment and provide the data. Berberine also doesn’t have the negative side effects that metformin has, especially in regards to exercise.
I take 1 gram of berberine per day. Zero negative impact on exercise. I don’t feel tired when doing cardio and I feel powerful when doing resistance exercise and have more muscles now
results from lab test 8/2022: overall cholesterol- 252 HDL- 75 LDL -158 Trigl - 85. These numbers have been hard to improve last 10 years. I Started 1000mg berberine per day 3.5 mths ago and latest lab results: Overall cholesterol - 213 HDL - 90 LDL - 113 Trigl. -53 - I can't prove berberine is the common denominator but these improvements are dramatic and I really haven't changed diet much this year.
@Dr.BradStanfield You're getting a lot of influencer idiots commenting on your videos now. These people don't care about data just " I LiKe tAkINg NaTurAL sUpPlEmEnTS" Or statins are terrible for you... Anyway, keep up the good work showing the data rather than anecdotes.
I started taking berberine and my blood auger leveled out and lost about 2in in waist line A friend was on metformin and blood sugar would go from 80 to 250 started berberine and stays level at 120. So whatever.
I reduced my LDL-C from 200 to 140 through diet/exercise. But it was stuck there. My Dr wouldn't prescribe me a statin so i started taking Berberine and cut virtually all sat. fat out of my diet. Now I'm at 107. I think i may stop taking it to see how big of an impact it had vs sat. fat. But bottom line, a lot of people take supplements as a "last resort" because their Drs are not interested in preventing disease, but rather only interested in managing a disease after it is fullly taken hold
I am a type-2 diabetic and I have been taking Berberine for 2 years now and my A!C is down to 5.5. Before taking Berberine, I was taking Metformin and it gave me severe cramps in my legs. I will always try natural remedies first.
@L. S.S. Have you completely stopped metformin? What were the sugar levels before stopping Metformin. What is the dosage of Berberine you are presently taking. Plz inform, so that we consider for my mother in law. She is suffering with high values of Sugar levels even after takin Insulin besides Metformin.
@@KimFanSudhakarhello, there’s another video on UA-cam where a Dr. Said that you can adjust berberine start with 500 mg all the way to 300mg , spreading dosage through day and eating a meal and drinking plenty of water.
@@Hobbies-ve1iy all brands brother..I don't mean it in a "don't use" kind of way, I just mean that natural supplements should not be thought of as safe enough that it won't hurt you. Digoxin from a flower is still digoxin. However, impure supplements can have heavy metals and contaminants. I take a ton of stuff but I haven't had any of it tested yet. Fingers crossed
Berberine has been VERY effective at lowering my blood pressure without the horrible side effects of BP meds. Usually don't take issue with your advice, but I have to, a bit on this one.
I use the powder form and make my own capsules. After some experimentation, I determined that if I fill a size OO capsule with Berberine it is about 500mg. I take two in the morning and two at night. My wife has also started the same regime.
I began supplementing with Berberine when nighttime blood sugars were elevated. My fasting decreased as well as my A1C. I began having unexplained weight loss, felt well, but had no idea why. After reading comments I guess it must be the addition of the Berberine, which I use as necessary. Wish I had known about it decades ago. I still use Metformin, but Berberine definitely is beneficial for me.
Strange, I've used it for the past 3 months, two different brands (pretty high-quality and quite expensive), but haven't noticed any changes in my glucose and BP levels. I'm still around 95-100mg/dl and 135/75mm Hg. I'm eating 4g of berberine each day split to three doses (morning, evening and before bed).
I am a prediabetic who was on a statin for months. It hadn't raised my blood sugar, even though it had been described as "adding to insulin resistance". It's quite a bold statement for you to make that "statins cause diabetes". In my case, it was a small factor in a sea of confounders. It matters little compared to weight loss and exercise. The need to be on the statin had also disappeared with weight loss, in my case.
I struggled with my weight for years and my suger level was high. I tried listening to people and doing some reading and end up with berberine. I was at 95kg and droped down to 88kg in 3 months. Suger level normalized and I feel amazing. I love. Very soon I will out of insulin resistant mode and belly goes down. I combined with intermittent fasting and healthy eating
I am not anti statin or metformin but did start berberine form some of the research I read on it and I’ll be damned if my labs weren’t some of the best I’ve ever had on annual labs. Coincidence? Maybe but still has my attention
@@nicoisthomas3802 I take one capsule in the morning and one in the evening. Before meals OR after, it doesn't seem to matter, just take it. My A1c went down from 7.5 to 5.9 over the past 4 years. I take, Nutrivein Premium Berberine HCL 1200mg Plus Organic Ceylon Cinnamon, from Amazon.
Hi, there have you any experience using Berberine for SIBO? I just ordered it for this, I’m so tired of stomach problems for 6 years. I’m chronically bloated if I try to eat healthy food on a daily basis. I have to control symptoms by eliminating fiber and fermented foods. It’s so frustrating. I got Rifaxamin in 2021 and it did nothing, things actually got worse which is when I started removing the fiber. Gastroenterologists are no help. I just want to be able to eat healthy food and feel good 😢
This video really confused me because there are several doctors on here showing evidence based research on the benefits of Berberine. Also you fail to mention how harsh Metformin is kidneys and the numerous side effects it has! Also long term statins have been proven to be bad for one's health yet you mention they are cheaper? What has the price of Metformin got to do with it's efficacy or the dangers of the side effects it can have on the body?
Wow! After reading the comments it sounds like this supplement is really helping people. Thanks for commenting. As for this guys advice….the jury is out.
Unfortunately, relying on comments is anecdotal rather than scientific. That's the problem with Amazon reviews, too. There is no way of separating out real effects from placebo effects, or some other cause. I've heard from anecdotal testimony that berberine doesn't work, and the science seems to support that testimony.
Acc. to the mentioned study on berberine and atherosclerosis causing TMG, berberine lowers TMG serum levels by inhibiting its production in the intestinal bacteria, meaning there is no requirement for berberine absorption. This means poor absorption is not an issue.
The reduction in plaque size seemed minimal but not when you factor in how much the plaque increased with statins & aspirin. I’m betting on the berberine!
The reduction was only over 4 weaks I had a heart transplant 23 years ago and was talking Berberine Tocotrienols Aged Garlic Extract And my arteries were crystal clear which is not easy in Transplant patients. Brad I enjoy your videos but must disagree with your argument statins have only mild to moderate pain symptoms. I was placed on Astorvistatin and after 10 days I could not hardly walk and was in considerable discomfort. My knees could hardly function. I stopped treatment and in short order my pain disappeared. After several days I again went on to the medication and in two days all symptoms had returned. And NO it was not placebo effect. It did however save my life as I immediately began researching alternatives and found all my answers on this forum. I have dropped 62 pounds. No longer insulin resistance Normal blood pressure Normal cholesterol Normal blood glucose Normal prostate No more anxiety No need for sleep medication I have stopped all prescription drugs 8 in all. I have quit sugar, grains, vegetable oils, potatoes. Omar diet five days and 2mad . I purposefully eat liver, heart and sardines weekly. Two years and I no longer need doctor’s to prescribe anything to fill the gap of a poor diet and lifestyle. You sir are wrong about statin side effects
Except there’s evidence to suggest its probably not doing something positive. Berberine may be negatively messing with the digestion and metabolization of your meals, which affects your blood glucose levels after eating. You interpret this as a positive thing because you don’t get blood sugar spikes after you eat. But because we dont truly understand the mechanism of how Berberine is working, its actually probably messing with your digestive system in the long run, which is bad.
I came here because I was put on Metformin and multiple different types of insulin and Ozempic, Rybelsus, etc and it didn't work. Berberine has done a much better job taking care of my A1C and lowering my Cholesterol, etc.
I tried berberine for 5 weeks. No change in fasting blood glucose. Good effect on digestive system. But after 4 weeks bad for mitochondria. As a cyclist a lost endurance. Therefore I stopped taking berberine.
I have struggled with my weight as I got older for years. No matter what I tried it kept going up. Walk 2 miles almost everyday. Plus an added exercise 3 times a week. I started berberine about 5 months ago. Lost 14 lbs. it’s a slow process. Which is the best way to keep weight off. I will be interested to see my blood work. I noticed that if I start getting a canker sore or cold sore in my mouth or on my lips, I just place a small amount on them and they are gone the next day! So it’s a win win! I have read that it can interrupt with iron absorption. So for 1 month I didn’t take it. Started it up again and I will go off in a few weeks. I haven’t put on weight. I just maintained! And my cravings for sugar and snacking have almost subsided. Even when I take a break.
Yes Berberine does have absorption issues. Thats why you use Dihydroberberine, Berberine phytosome or combine it with Sylmarin which enhances absorption.
The low bioavailability is likely not an issue. Many benefits derive from its effect on the gut. And the berberine that is absorbed has a cumulative effect over time so that results are seen from continued usage
On Joe Rogan's 4/29 podcast, he has Dr. Aseem Malhotra, during which they discuss statins. Dr Malhotra is clearly anti-statin and believes the actual rates of side effects are not properly captured in the statistics. Would be interested to hear your take on Dr Malhotra's opinion on statins in one of your next videos.
Dr Aseem Malhotra is just a contrarian quack trying to sell books. There is ample evidence (countless meta analyses of RCTs not funded by "big pharma") refuting his claims on statins on both mortality and CVD risk and he has a poor understanding of statistics as evidenced by his dismissal of relative risk. He should not be trusted with anything with regards to cholesterol.
Dr. Berg did a video on the claim that Berberine doesn't work because it's not absorbed well in the blood stream.... he points out absorbing it into the blood stream isn't where you gain benefit, but rather where it does travel which is in the digestive tract.
it's already bioavailable. It's part of a living plant, it's probably got other ingredients that help make it stable and buffers it and safe. The living plant has found a way to make it sustainable. The pharmaceutical industry isolates active and of course everything they produce has side effects because they are unbalanced.
Look up the Glucose Revolution book. Full of hacks to stop cravings and control your blood sugar. Like taking a spoon of vinegar (diluted in water) before eating sweets controls the usual blood sugar peak. You don’t need berberine, just eat differently.
@@user-pf5xq3lq8i The most often dosage I have seen is 2 tbsp well diluted in water (8oz). Some people recommend using a straw to minimize exposure to tooth enamel.
Berberine is vaguely bioavailable but its main route is via the gut microbiota, In addition, metformin is an endocrine transgressor that reduces testosterone, and very difficult to biodegradable, accumulating in the environment and polluting the ecosystem
Brad, I believe you commented upon poor uptake of berberine. You might want to check how berberine works in the gut where uptake isn't really an issue.
If you only go by published papers, you'll be severely limited in perspective. Studies also require funding, and funding can often come from drug companies themselves so information can be misleading (statins, for ex).
I think we just need more studies on Berberine. I imagine people said the same thing about Turmeric for a long time until enough studies were conducted to show otherwise. I know for myself, I've had good success and none of the side effects using Berberine. I know we all need to be careful when watching and reading from natural healthcare gurus but I think we also need to do the same with Doctors and the pharmaceutical industry. Since big pharma has a bit of a habit of lying or decades longer than Natural or Homeo doctors.
I was put on statins & i could hardly move, my muscles felt so weak. I also could not think properly & my mind foggy. With myself already suffering from depression & anxiety, it impacted me greatly. I begged for a replacement drug or lower the dose & they refused. I stopped all medication myself & went for more natural remedies for my severe atherosclerosis. I took pure pomegranate juice daily & then capsules for many years. I also took omega 3 capsules 1000mg, Q10 capsules & vitamin K2 mark 7 capsules. Also cracked cell wall chlorella often. I take vit D & C daily. Good quality oat bread is recommend. I have a mainly vegetarian/ occasional pescetarian diet. With one artery diagnosed as 96% blocked, two others blocked. One of which 60%.. I was told my arteries were too slim for stents & i will have a heart attack not if, very soon. That bypass surgery would happen if i survived the heart attack. I am still here 12 years later. I believe there may be a link between the rising cases of dementia in the elderly & younger ages.. Then the higher numbers of elderly put on statins, after the way they made me feel. I couldn't think properly or remember anything on them, terrible drug for me.
Berberine is mentioned by its Indian name Daruharidra in texts which are well over 15 centuries old and has been used for several diseases in conjunction with other herbs. It is certainly useful in diabetes and helps in immunity as well.
I don't understand why every single product you showed that is supposed to work better than Berberine is a pharmaceutical drug with a prescription and not one mention of how or what to eat to also help all of those problems. not many of us trust doctors that push the pharmaceutical industry these days.
I’m prediabetic, I have been taking berberine twice a day for about a month now and for the first time in a long time my fasting glucose was under 100 this morning
You need to get into long hikes/runs in the mountains. I had fasting blood glucose of 150 and now I can be at 90, 1hr after eating gummy bears after a hike. The muscles need glucose so much so that you'll make it out of fat, exercise is the best way to improve insulin resistance.
I think a futer you will be making a vidio on how you were wrong about berberine, I've recently started berberine and it has had some very profound effects on me. And I don't suffer from placibo effects.
For the highlighted four month trial study (with the immediate effect on the gut microbiome, and not absorption-related), you said something to the effect that "Doppler ultrasonography is not a great measure for atherosclerosis, the results therefore, are uninterpretable." Where did you get that nonsensical idea? On the contrary, Carotid Intima Media Thickness (CIMT) testing (which is not just simple ultrasonography) is probably the best, most detailed, cutting-edge measure of atherosclerotic plaque that exists, and the authors state that "Internationally recognized plaque measurement indicators, such as common plaque score, carotid intima-media thickness [CIMT] as well as maximum plaque length were employed in the clinical study to analyse the drug efficacy." That plaque was significantly reduced, as per high-quality, standard measurements, and in only four months, is dramatic and particularly noteworthy. Can the same be said for Metformin? Probably not.
Berberine lowers blood sugar levels by preventing absorbtion of glucose in the digestive system. But it can also cause malabsorbtion of other important nutrients as well. Berberine can also affect the efficiency of several medications assimilated in the liver and can slow blood clotting as well. People need to be aware of the risks as well as the benefits of any herb/ drug/ substance they're using.
What brand are you using and how much do you take a day? Do you take before your meals after your meals while you’re eating? I’m trying to make sure I buy the right product.
Va rog sa-i spuneti , eu i-au glucofage de 750 una dupa masa de seara. Daca am introdus Berberina dimineata de 500mg si seara de 500mg ce sa fac sa scot Glucofage-ul ? Va multumesc !
It gets more interesting the more I listen because he doesn’t mention how statins basically kill CoQ10 levels in the body. Also, there are many other studies. I just looked up that said the opposite of what he just said about statin side effects. This is crazy.
@@DrBradStanfieldplease tell the story of how drug companies did statin studies that included coq10. Then excluded it in the product to market due to the expense. Then as a result were fined millions for not disclosing this...

I took berberine for SIBO several years back with questionable results. HOWEVER, I took Oregon Grape root which contains berberine, the results were far better than even the prescription meds. To this day, I've taken Oregon Grape root any time there is a flare up, I have intestinal issues (including diarrhea), and results are very noticeable. Ditto my wife. I also notice results, but more mixed for flare-ups of my fibromyalgia. My MD noted, that sometimes taking an organic compound such as berberine in the whole plant form often works better than when isolated.

Are you even a Medical Doctor? I prescribe berberine to my patients as alternative to metformin AD. And when the study is significant it is significant.
Ok, you lost me at Ozempic. Also, there’s a 52,000 people study out of Japan that indicated women shouldn’t ever take a statin UNLESS they have blockage
I use a version of Berberine called Dihydroberberine which increase the absorption. I take one before all my meals. I use Abbott FreeStyle 3 Glucose monitor and can see that my glucose peaks are very short and lower with it
What Dr. Stanfield is holding back here is that there are ways to improve the absorption of berberine, for example by using dihydroberberine instead of berberine.
I quickly lost 5-6 lbs. after 6 weeks on berberine with no other lifestyle changes. Wasn't even trying to lose weight. I'm intolerant of statins. Was looking to berberine for cholesterol reduction.
I know once I started taking it I noticed I was hungry more, got hot quick, sweated more than I had in years, and had my first normal blood pressure reading in two years, it usually reads high. Still checking it out, no weight loss yet.

Hi Peter, I'm interested in reasons for your choosing to take Chromium, along with your berberine? Do you use 500 mg 3x's day of berberine? And how much/often the chromium? Thanks much : )
Yes I use 500mg Berberine 3 x per day 1 hour before meals and 200ug Chromium Picolinate one capsule morning & evening ! Don’t eat bread pasta or sugar, no soft drinks as they are full of sugar, good luck I am confident you will beat it !

That's amazing 👏...I reversed my prediabetes myself using berberine.

It has taken me 4 months and still working on it. Berberine (500mg before meals) knockes 25-30 points off my postprandial high blood glucose and seems to be speeding up my ability to tolerate increasing amounts of carbs without getting damagingly high blood sugar spikes.

Dr. Stanfield, I can only speak for myself and say that berberine works extremely well on me. I've tried several times on and off berberine. Oh I hope that's true! That's great
I completely disagree with you on the inflammation aspect.

Ironic how he forgot to mention that statins cause diabetes while promoting them in a video about berberine

I can tell you without a doubt that when I take Berberine I don't get tired after eating a meal. So it is doing something positive.

Berberine may be negatively messing with the digestion and metabolization of your meals, which affects your blood glucose levels after eating. But because we dont truly understand the mechanism of how Berberine is working, its actually probably messing with your digestive system in the long run, which is bad.

I had fasting blood glucose of 150 and now I can be at 90, 1hr after eating gummy bears after a hike.
The muscles need glucose so much so that you'll make it out of fat, exercise is the best way to improve insulin resistance.
@@hempwick8203 He can just ride a stationary bike or walk on a treadmill for an hour a day.
@@lucianp2616 ?? Why would anyone want to do that if you can be outdoors?
@@hempwick8203 The body can't make glucose from fat, only carbs and protein.
I think a futer you will be making a vidio on how you were wrong about berberine,
I've recently started berberine and it has had some very profound effects on me.
I only come here for the comments, I cant hardly listen to this guy when you have UA-camrs like Dr. Eric Berg, one of my favorites.
Well by the looks of it everyone is benefiting from berberine. I’ll continue with Berberine thanks
🧐
Tu fir this true fact.. I'm. Long cov, long Lyme, w celiac, +gut dysbiosis, so berberine not for me
I'm insulin resistant, which is causing many other problems. I've been using Berberine for 2 weeks and am seeing changes.
Berberine absorption isn't relevant because its effect is in modifying the microbiome.
I love how your character sounds really professional and Elegant recently. Like you really worked on your presentation skill. Absolutely amazing.
Berberine is very effective in weight loss. I was 242 lbs in April 2023, by December 2023 I am now 180 lbs!
What brand did you use?
It gets more interesting the more I listen because he doesn’t mention how statins basically kill CoQ10 levels in the body. Also, there are many other studies. I just looked up that said the opposite of what he just said about statin side effects. This is crazy.
My next video coming out is on CoQ10
@@DrBradStanfieldplease tell the story of how drug companies did statin studies that included coq10. Then excluded it in the product to market due to the expense. Then as a result were fined millions for not disclosing this...
There are also studies with Q10 which are designed to fail. They take such a poor dosis of Q10 that it can't have any effect. Anything under 300mg Q10 per day in studies isn't interesting@@lone982
Sinergia
Run borderline diabetic. In the last 4 weeks...using Berberine... I have lost 10 lbs. I AM going to continue to use Berberine.
Berberine works great to lower my Blood Sugar. Seems to help a little with Cholesterol too, although harder to tell. Blood Sugar, definite. There's always gonna be nay sayers.
chronic fatigue syndrome, having been using dihydroberberine for 6 weeks and after 4 years of a lost life, months of research and numerrous lifestyle changes I have regained my life, 80-95 % normal energy levels. AMPK for the win.
Hi sound great I have chronic fatigue too. Was it only Berberine that helped or what else did you take? And how much Berberine are you taking per day?
Following with interest…

Metformin is never the choice. Research the very dangerous long term consequences of metformin use.
Doesn't it cause birth defects? Why are people still talking about it without bringing that up? Seems important to know.
@@johncalla2151 maybe because the vast majority of women prescribed Metformin are past child bearing age
Incorrect. Metformin is brilliant for type 2 diabetics and pre-diabetics
@@DrBradStanfield I read a study that Metformin blunts exercise. Have you found that to be true?
@Rumblestein is correct. It is associated with hypothyroidism, can cause renal impairment, and depletes B12. Berberine is a superior choice by practically every measure.
I’m from Berberine country and I can assure you it’s ok not to listen to this guy.
It helps liver and liver is responsible for everything.
I could manage my vitiligo by drinking it’s actual fruit smoothie.
Lower LDL with oreo cookies ? Its the new discovery . How about taking an AMPK supplement ?
Are you even a Medical Doctor? I prescribe berberine to my patients as alternative to metformin AD. And when the study is significant it is significant.
Va rog frumos sa-mi spuneti daca introduc berberina de 500mg de doua ori pe zi daca pot sa scot glucofage de 750mg ?
Berberine is also used as an antimicrobial for conditions like sibo. Be interesting to hear your take on the research around that
Ok, you lost me at Ozempic. Also, there’s a 52,000 people study out of Japan that indicated women shouldn’t ever take a statin UNLESS they have blockage
I use a version of Berberine called Dihydroberberine which increase the absorption. I take one before all my meals. I use Abbott FreeStyle 3 Glucose monitor and can see that my glucose peaks are very short and lower with it
Wonderful! Glad to hear you’re hacking the health bs out there and doing the best for health! Continued good health 👍🏻💯
What brand did you yse
What Dr. Stanfield is holding back here is that there are ways to improve the absorption of berberine, for example by using dihydroberberine instead of berberine.
He’s holding back much more than that
He hasn't mentioned the dihydroberberine this has shown good results lower dose though better absorption
Bit confused he preferred to pharma
I quickly lost 5-6 lbs. after 6 weeks on berberine with no other lifestyle changes.
Wasn't even trying to lose weight. I'm intolerant of statins. Was looking to berberine for cholesterol reduction.
I know once I started taking it I noticed I was hungry more, got hot quick, sweated more than I had in years, and had my first normal blood pressure reading in two years, it usually reads high. Still checking it out, no weight loss yet.
Your symptoms sound like low blood sugar.
He's the only one that has something negative to say about Berberine. Other health experts and people who have taken it has given it praises. I'm not talking just about weight loss, but other benefits to your health.
Agreed! I started taking it September 2023 for a chronic cough and today is November 2023. It’s not completely gone, but definitely 95% gone!!!! Take one 500 mg a day. Definitely is fixing inflammation in he lungs.
Good marketing tactics... people should use medicine not natural products to make pharmaceutical companies get richer ..
There are several forms of berberine that are highly absorbable. Berberine Phytosome, for one.
I have been talking Berberine for over 20 years I was pre diabetic and my test are all normal Cholesterol HDL 4.5 LDL1.8 Triglycerides .8 I take it with Chromium ! I will not touch Metformin or Statins for me it’s the natural way!
