@@AfrikanHairGod I agree! I hate when they say they do it to make their hair more manageable. I’m like sis that definitely ain’t it. And then they say how they don’t have to spend as much time on their hair. That’s a lie. Relaxed hair is more fragile, so they need to put in a lot more work to keep it healthy. I watch relaxed hair videos and all the stuff they need to do and I’m like so where’s the extra time you got from not being natural. And they STILL use protective styles as much as naturals. I wanna be like Kandi and say: THE LIES! THE LIES! I will mention that myself and my sister always blow dry our hair on wash days. Using styles to stretch it or keeping it in the naturally coily state doesn’t seem to work for us. We have high density hair with soft and fine strands. This causes our hair to tangle very easily and be prone to SSK. My mom has type 4b hair, but the strands are thicker and coarser, so she doesn’t have the same problem.
For the uncombable hair syndrome, the best way to describe it is that it kinda has the texture of damaged ends. And it isn't really uncombable, it just grows upward and won't lay flat. I know someone with it and it just looks like a blowout. She has locs now though
Its awkward because it's got a triangular or heart shaped hair shaft. I dont know if the person you know is black or white but I've only ever seen it on blonde hair and wondered if it was a genetic thing that was linked to blonde hair? Stuff like that interests me. My friends little boy had an extra little finger, so cute. Tiny perfect little finger and nail. They removed it cos it was attached by only a small, thin bit of flesh, but I then met a guy who'd had it when he was young and also saw a baby at the hospital with one. All were black and when I mentioned it could be genetic ppl laughed but I checked it out and I was right, it's more black babies that are born with it. Apparently white people are more likely to get an extra thumb, lol. Genetics are strange.
I can relate to the first story with the matted hair. My hair was flourishing and then I hit a depressed time in my life where I didn’t touch my hair for a year. It was in a ponytail. Eventually I tried to work on it and my hair had matted into a big mass that was so hard that you could tap it and hear it. Very hard. I tried to detangle it with a comb and nothing. I then tried oil to help and nothing. Eventually I used a spray bottle with conditioner and it helped a little but what really helped was time and detangling with my fingers on dry hair. It took forever to get detangled, around two months, and I was able to salvage most of my hair. The length is gone but I’m working on it now and nursing my hair back to health. Matting is hard to overcome especially for those with no patience to work with it. Detangling was emotional but it helped me heal from what was causing the depression.
I posted a supportive comment on CurlyHairCrisis when I saw the video the other day, but she deleted it. Literally right after I typed it so I thought I deleted it myself by accident so reposted it, but it’s not there so she deleted it again. I just wanted her to know that I understood how she felt and what she went through. Having gone through a situation which left my hair in the same matted state, I felt her pain. I spent 2 weeks trying to detangle my hair, but finally went to my stylist as I knew I would have spent another 2 weeks trying to do it alone. Basically 1/2 my head was left to do.😓 It took two back to back visits for her to detangle it. I had a some breakage and shedding. I still had length but it was sparse and uneven in some parts. Believe it or not after all that work to try to save my length, I decided to big chop so that it would be easier to care for. It was just before Covid lock down and I just didn’t want to deal with it anymore. I’m sorry I always miss these live. I remember watching your gaming videos live late at night. It would help me sleep.🤣 ASMR.
For years I thought I had 4c hair my stylist educated me and I made sure not to say that anymore, I do see a lot of content labeled 4c but it's actually 4a 3c. The sad part is the numbers I still support 4c content
Chia seed gel also takes out matted hair. It’s super easy to make. All you need is water and bowl and a strainer. I’d say 1/2 hour tops. It’s an excellent Detangler under $5.
Shea moisture's deep conditioners are pretty good. Tbf, though alot of their lines claim to be more for type 3 hair than type 4, includingthe famous JBCO and coconut and hibiscus line(exception is Manuka honey and mafura oil) I think there is this black French girl on UA-cam who made a video about all their different lines. We should watch it sometime.
The gel is definitely glycerin and silicon based. But also this salon, contacted a lot of influencers to set the new " anti - oil, anti- butter" trend in the natural hair community There are several ytbers now saying:" oil is bad and we should stop using it because it was misinformation and here is the product we should use only" Ingredients Water, Polyacrylate-14, Glycerin, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, PVP, Polysorbate-20, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera (Kelp) Extract, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Fragrance, Aminomethyl Propanol, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydnation, Iodopropnyl Butylcarbamate.
My hair looked like this after 2 days, washed it and didn’t do anything..but I was able to finger detangle. This happens to me in the winter I really have to keep it coated with butters.
There's definitely a lot of controversy with the stylist Jennifer Rose. I find myself in the middle because I like her and stylists like her as well as Narada 🤣
I'm not familiar with her work but sis... Your mouth is reckless. Stay in your lane and leave the hair science to those that know what they are talking about.
The uncombable hair do not look nothing like afro textured hair. It looks like extremely fried damage hair. Ive seen alot of blow outs and afro hair, and healthy hair will have a sheen or a shine to it. That name should be change to something else.
Hello!!! You made me laugh soooooooo hard lol. These videos are soooo great! Regarding video 9 and your observation of stylist cutting.... when you are able, can you explain why the cuts are good quality or sub par? Is it based on the angle and layering? Thank you :)
As far as the gorilla glue woman....not girl. I don't feel bad for her, as far as how she placed herself in the predicament that she did. She knew what gorilla glue was suppose to have been used for. It was not an accident, I don't like that she further the narrative of the black stereotypes of us. I can't be on code with folks that try to play us and act ignorant to their actions. Chile, I cannot defend intentionally foolery.😕😧 I don't like how she played on people's emotions for money and clout, when there are so many other ways to get your coins.💰 I however do feel bad for her children tho, I also don't agree with people sending her death threats. What she did was unacceptable, but it's not bad enough for her to be deserving of loosing her life. Anyways, thank you Narada...for pointing out certain suspicious loop holes in her case. I hope that Ms.Tessica Brown learns from this experience and realizes that all fame is not true fame. Unless, you gain it for great😊 reason and not for bad.😣 Ps: Oh and I'm glad Curly hair Crisis finally came back to update us on how her hair is progressing. Thank God, she's back on track with her hair growth journey.👍👍👍
white girls use that shit so i am not. i don't use that, nor jojoba, nor grapeseed. even that Tessica using that white bottle of Pantene and suave. they need to stop it.
While I still believe protein had a hand in it, I thought the first girl also washed her before getting rid of 3 weeks of shed hair...but it’s hard to say based on how she explained her story in her first video. Cuz she was using oatmeal protein shampoo and conditioner, it wasn’t something like ApHogee. Oatmeal protein is pretty gentle in comparison to other proteins. If I had to get it cut that short, I’ve would’ve gotten a taper and grew it out.
Something had to turn her hair into a brillo pad for it to mat up like that and even afterwards the loose hair in the back continued to mat up. It's more than shed hair her hair turned into velcro.
Re video 12 :I had patient's like this and they were of a caucasoid decent. Water would just roll off their hair and a comb would not go through their hair.
I haven't got there yet but I saw a geneticist on TV with a little girl talking about it. The hair shaft is triangular or heart shaped and it's incredibly brittle. Can be broken easy with even heat from a hairdryer. They call it glass hair. All the kids I've seen have been white and blonde, wondered if it was genetically linked to blondes.
All of the confessions of unhealthy eats. Its all good, all foods moderation and portion control. No guilt. Just praise the Lord for the blessing of meals. Natural hair in my opinion is just the hair that grows from your head naturally from your gene expression. Natural hair styling is different for each person and a way to express yourself or pamper yourself. Lack of 4C representation online gives the impression that all hair must be curled perfectly or perfectly straight. Locks is a way to express hair stylishly and wear it as you like.
What was the treatment she used that turned her hair to dreadlocs? Might be good for those who find it difficult to form locs. 😅 Incidentally, I saw in a couple of places that castor oil can cause matting on certain types of hair.
About uncontrol able hair syndrome: people with this disorder will not have a curl pattern as the hair shaft is triangle shaped. However this shouldn't be the major concern of this disorder, this can cause brittle bones and disorders that effect the fingers and hips. This disorder is also very rare. Its not that when you comb your hair it will be very painfull but the hair will break off under the smallest amount of tensions.
The same exact thing happened to me! Tried to save my hair and it got worse and worse! I had to big chop a few years ago and I am back where it was. I avoid this now by using a Wet Brush which detangles hair in about 15 minutes whereas it took hours before.
Hmmm so we stretched the hair to two stand twist when two stand twists stretch the hair themselves? If you can't grip sis just say that. And that sunflower color was okayish but the super low sides with that straight bowl gave me a slight Hitler Youth tea
@@AfrikanHairGod I did it with the first season-because of the stupid basement 😂 and it just made season 2 such a drag for me. So I promised I wouldn’t do it anymore...for this show lol
My hair tangles very quickly especially if I leave it twisted for several days without combining it and retwisting it. My hair is very fine, coily and believe I it’s 4a. But my hair texture is soft and only feels hard when I use a lot of gel. And no, I’m not mixed. So my hair could tangle like that first woman.
Your hair is tangling but it's not matting. It's a difference. Your strands are shrinking and wrapping around each other. Her strands were just sticking to each other like velcro.
The first woman wasn’t dramatic at all, black women and our hair has so much meaning to us and she even said she did as best as she could w the knowledge she had. I’m sure that was a stressful event she went through and was strong enough to share it with us🙏🏽
Did you actually listen to what I said or did you just hear me call her dramatic? I was referring to her over the top sense of humor and delivery not her reaction to her having to cut her hair.
What happened is the big business of products putting out the curlier hair and having everyone ooing and aahing over how so called ''beautiful" we can all look. It is just the same thing they did back in slavery time. THAT IS WHAT WENT LEFT.
I feel like my old publication of my cosmetology book was too... Oh well. I got people still telling me they got high density and coarse hair so maybe I'm the one that's mistaken. Just because I haven't seen it yet doesn't mean that it's not true.
Video 1: I think the young lady should have immediately use a moisturizing shampoo to remove the excess protein. Then follow up with a moisturizing conditioner. Video 3: So much to unpack. 1. Whoever did the post and captioned it "thoughts" is very disrespectful and probably hateful. Sadly, most people in the back community are blinded with featurism rather than character and to a lesser extent personality. 2. I think that she could have worded her caption differently rather than "This is 4c hair". Some people may fell attacked, some are just insensitive and uncaring about their tweet(s)/comment(s).
The lady on video one, if she really experienced protein overload, there was nothing she could have done. That takes a lot of time to reverse. The shampoo would have just made it even worse...
You can take out locs. You have to remember that locs are a combination of years of shed hair along with healthy hair. Nearly all of the woman's hair was of her hair attached to her scalp. That makes the situation even more dire.
I have high density AND coarse texture hair especially in the middle of my head...point blank period. I have a family full of hair dressers/ hair salon/barber shop owns. EVERYONE hair is different. What's on my head may not be be on 200 others🤷🏾🤦🏾.
No you don't. Everyone's hair is different but there's physical limitations. I say this not as difference of opinion between stylists but a matter of fact. First off genetically black people tend to have the least amount of strands on their head averaging about 80k.There's been plenty of occasions when cosmetologists have been wrong especially when they claim they promote healthy hair and do. Plus, a lot of people don't know how to properly assess "coarse strand thickness". When a lot of people say that hair is coarse they are usually talking about a feeling. But regardless your don't have high density and coarse hair. It's physically not possible.

I never said afro hair can't mat together either, I said it doesn't happen the way it happened to her hair. The depth and diameter of your curl does not denote your "proximity to Africa".
The way you’re so quick to leave when it’s gets weird 😭 that roach comment omg
I have only found that African Pride prepoo 1x since you mentioned it. All of my Walgreens are out. Will def check out Amazon.
Curl peace does one with very similar ingredients if you can't get the African Pride one.
@@marleyhill34 thanks, I will check it out!
You’re hilarious! Caught most of the live!
Thank you!
Chia seed gel also takes out matted hair. It’s super easy to make. All you need is water and bowl and a strainer. I’d say 1/2 hour tops. It’s an excellent Detangler under $5.
Shea moisture's deep conditioners are pretty good.
Tbf, though alot of their lines claim to be more for type 3 hair than type 4, includingthe famous JBCO and coconut and hibiscus line(exception is Manuka honey and mafura oil)
I think there is this black French girl on UA-cam who made a video about all their different lines. We should watch it sometime.
The uncombable hair syndrome had me DYING 😂😂 she said go to the Africans and get her hair braided yo 😭😭😭
Her hair would probably break off as ubs hair is incredibly brittle.

The gel is definitely glycerin and silicon based. But also this salon, contacted a lot of influencers to set the new " anti - oil, anti- butter" trend in the natural hair community
There are several ytbers now saying:" oil is bad and we should stop using it because it was misinformation and here is the product we should use only"

Water, Polyacrylate-14, Glycerin, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, PVP, Polysorbate-20, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera (Kelp) Extract, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Fragrance, Aminomethyl Propanol, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydnation, Iodopropnyl Butylcarbamate.
My hair looked like this after 2 days, washed it and didn’t do anything..but I was able to finger detangle. This happens to me in the winter I really have to keep it coated with butters.
Eloho took me out with the Neanderthal comment lover her😂😂😂😂😂 then josh said “yabba dabba dooooo”😂😂
Watched the video #1 when she posted it and just wanted to 😢 with her..
Unless, you gain it for great😊 reason and not for bad.😣
Ps:
Oh and I'm glad Curly hair Crisis finally came back to update us on how her hair is progressing. Thank God, she's back on track with her hair growth journey.👍👍👍

Oh thank you so much 😊
white girls use that shit so i am not. i don't use that, nor jojoba, nor grapeseed. even that Tessica using that white bottle of Pantene and suave. they need to stop it.
@@AfrikanHairGod
Oh yeah that is good point...🤷🏾♀️ sorry that happened to her though...
The shampoo was oat protein AND henna. Henna can make some people's hair hard and tangled, although henna works great for some people.
@@FoAdunni
Ouch...you’re right. Some people have had some real bad experiences with henna.
@@FoAdunni Ooh that makes a lot of sense, yeah that's not a good combination to have.

I have not watched for months, are you back in the shop. I have been healing myself, but I have always loved your videos for five years or more.
You can also tell her hair is not really dense by how easy it is to see her scalp when he parted it. It look like she has so much hair tho.
Ok I’m back to finish where I fell asleep. I hope you’re having a great day!

I think Coffee Cuties is exploring extending the category beyond 4c. She has videos about this and her rationale.
She’s a character 😂the lady in the beginning
I havent been watching your lives but I'm happy I dropped in to hear the hydrogen bond girls sound bits
Caught the end of the stream, but it was still so much fun just cracking jokes. Cant wait for the next one.
Thanks for watching! Hope you can join the next one.
What was the treatment she used that turned her hair to dreadlocs? Might be good for those who find it difficult to form locs. 😅 Incidentally, I saw in a couple of places that castor oil can cause matting on certain types of hair.
Video 6 what a ride, loved it. Gotta watch video 3 again
When I first saw the gorilla girl video I knew it was fake. COME ON PEOPLE.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! That was a fiasco!😬😩🥺

Aww thank you for watching. That's the best time to watch these watch parties, when you have to do your hair
I have 4a/4b and it mats a lot especially after shampoo and conditioning .
I luh me some Afrikan hair God 🥰

Why at 1:20 does the yellow hair woman look like a daisy from the back

The book i had in cos was specific with the numbers in density... wish I could dig it out for you

Yellow hairvstyle: What in the uneven haircut? What was the reason? For why?
I think she was trying to create a textured layered cut but I think she cut a little too much off
Video 1:
I think the young lady should have immediately use a moisturizing shampoo to remove the excess protein. Then follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.
Video 3:
So much to unpack.
Isn't she supposed to color her hair? It's still wet. 🥴
Video 13: please never let that be me 💀
I actually liked the yellow from video 4, just not the brown root color. Too close to her skin tone imo.
I was thinking whitney too 😂😂😂😂
Speaking of matted hair, how is it that Taren Guy was able to take her free form locs down??
You can take out locs. You have to remember that locs are a combination of years of shed hair along with healthy hair. Nearly all of the woman's hair was of her hair attached to her scalp. That makes the situation even more dire.
@@AfrikanHairGod oh wow ok

Some of your comments are absolutely false. I don’t fault you b/c you simply don’t know. You don’t have hair. What happened to her hair, happened to mine. We don’t have the same curl pattern. My hair is very thick. Using conditioner to detangle my hair, I realized caused majority of my problems... lesson learned...
But... She used conditioner and that's how she ended up with her situation
@@AfrikanHairGod it wasn’t about the hair products, necessarily. It was your comments about “biracial” people, softer curl patterns etc. that’s simply not true. I just don’t want people to come across your commentary and assume it can’t happen to them b/c their hair texture, or proximity to “Africa”... Basically it’s like finding out Heavily melanated “Black” Americans can suffer from sunburn. Honestly, I’m not sure if you were being facetious, so even if you were, I took it at face value, which many will. I appreciate your time. Good luck w/ your page!!
@@OnMyGrind0983 if you listen to what I said, I didn't say that biracial people's hair was the only hair that Tangled up like that. I also compared it to looser curl patterns as well. You are focused on one aspect of a statement that I made but not considering everything I said as a whole. Don't take it for face value take what i say at complete value. I never said afro hair can't mat together either, I said it doesn't happen the way it happened to her hair. The depth and diameter of your curl does not denote your "proximity to Africa". That's your own projection. Africans come in all varieties and hair complexions.
@@AfrikanHairGod I was referring to that whole part, which is what I pointed out... ~biracial people, softer (looser curls) curl patterns etc~. Which is what I again am clarifying. My hair in particular is high level “type 4” which doesn’t have an exact curl pattern, tightly coiled, very thick strands went through the same process, where my hair fused together.
