@01:34:20 It's quite a few youtubers that relaxed because of this. They didnt like the way their natural hair looked because they were so used to the standard of wigs and shiny straight hair. Their natural hair was polar opposite from what they're used to. And I could tell they hated it because they did natural videos with no makeup. But wigs and straightening we're done with a full beat face. Same with grwm. Some tried but were so obviously uncomfortable with their natural hair. It's a mindset that we as black people will have to.....generationally grow out of.

A lot of 4c hair girls don’t like their hair, it ain’t News. I’m 3c/4a and a lot of 4c girls I know just praise my hair and call it “good hair.” And they’ll complain how nappy their hair is. I get so irritated, and tell them that their 4c hair is beautiful too!
IKR! I have 3c/4a hair as well and I have heard people say "It's easy for someone like you to go natural". But I side eye them when they say that because I still have "black folks hair". Fine tooth combs just don't glide through my hair with ease either. Trust and believe I have broken the teeth out of some combs. I wish more 4c ladies would rock their beautiful 4c hair. I see a lot of beautiful 4c hairstyles out there. But 4c hair can do things that other hair types can't do. But 4c's can do the best braids and twist. It can make the fullest puffs and afros. Whenever I try to do an Afro or puffs my hair just falls down and it doesn't look right.
I had someone once tell me that my hair was easier because I wasn't 4c, when I actually am. Because I learned how to take care of my hair and know what it does and doesn't like we cool. When she complains I listen and adjust my regimen.

It's not that "4c hair" can't do everything, it's that people don't know the proper styling technique to achieve certain styles and/or aren't happy with the way THEIR texture looks in said styles.
They want their hair to do things that it can't do. They have unrealistic expectations from their hair, when they can't achieve those expectations, they get frustrated with their hair. Retaining length and health isn't the problem is the mental perception and misconceptions about this type of hair. I find that it's more psychological as opposed to physical issues.

Could I get a recommendation on a good protein treatment to use? I need to do more research but I think my hair would benefit from one but I dont which one I should get.
I think green beauty's is great from a scientific and logic standpoint, however I think she lacks the experience of being someone that deals with different heads of hair on a daily basis. I can appreciate her research-based approach to haircare but I find that most of the time like many other natural hair vlogger she over complicates basic haircare and pushes and promotes hair trends and gimmicks like the water only wash method. You can check out my video on the water only wash method I did years ago on my channel.
For the guy tang video. You were comparing a natural hair level 3 to underlying pigments level 3. That’s why it didn’t match. You have to refer to the natural hair levels when referencing her natural hair. Carry on 😉

"4C" hair is difficult tho. It takes longer to style (stylist tend to charge more to do it) because it is more likely to snap during manipulation. The texture is gorgeous but the maintenance can be tew much.
If we are going to tell white women that they can't wear box braids then Black women can't be walking around rocking Brazilian, Peruvian, Indian Remy, Chinese, etc. If someone white wanted me to do box braids, I would do it. We don't hold a monopoly on a hair style.

And corn rows specifically are cultural to Black folks and all types of braids are linked back to Africa, those types our culturally ours. When White women use styles that are KNOWN to be a Style worn my Black Women or go to another Country like Jamaica or Africa and have their hair done in the styles of that culture it’s novelty and trendy for them. Black women ESPECIALLY in the US have been banned, ridiculed, fired or not hired from jobs, because of these very styles. A white woman does its it’s perfectly acceptable. It is culture appropriation and it has to stop. The fact that there is a Crown Act that’s being passed in many states is proof of that. White women don’t and won’t ever have to have a law passed to allow them to wear their hair as they choose. And to say the discrimination has nothing to do with a white woman wearing box braids individuals or corn rows has nothing to do with the discrimination would be very short sighted. That has everything to do with it. Since Bo Derek rocked braids in the movie 10 in the 80’s it has been a major issue. I have been around the sun to see it and personally have to deal with it. It is not a new concept or conversation. As long as Black women aren’t free from Racial Discrimination based on how they wear their hair, children are banned from graduation ceremonies even online, or kicked out of school , teachers cutting off locks and braids, it’s a HUGE issue. And when White people wear locs ( that they condemned Jamaicans for decades for wearing, then come to the US and think it’s a cool style) face no backlash, when they rock corn rows ( no clue to the history behind the style and don’t care) it’s stylish but Black women it’s considered Ghetto and not Professional. They are not separate issues it all stems from the same act. We can disagree but I roll with facts and reality and the reality is it’s culture appropriation ... these women are just taking from our culture and not giving one thought to the people. If they didn’t they would choose to wear French Braids Dutch Braids and alike that cause no issue for them but it’s always a problem for us. It’s very tiresome to have to deal with it on a regular.

Any paddle brush for detangling but for tighter coils he recommended one without the balls on the ends.

I think green beauty's is great from a scientific and logic standpoint, however I think she lacks the experience of being someone that deals with different heads of hair on a daily basis. I can appreciate her research-based approach to haircare but I find that most of the time like many other natural hair vlogger she over complicates basic haircare and pushes and promotes hair trends and gimmicks like the water only wash method. For the guy tang video. You were comparing a natural hair level 3 to underlying pigments level 3. That’s why it didn’t match. You have to refer to the natural hair levels when referencing her natural hair. Carry on 😉

I'm saying this as a person who will watch the occasional Brad Mondo video when I'm bored and want some background noise. "4C" hair is difficult tho. It takes longer to style (stylist tend to charge more to do it) because it is more likely to snap during manipulation. The texture is gorgeous but the maintenance can be tew much.

If we are going to tell white women that they can't wear box braids then Black women can't be walking around rocking Brazilian, Peruvian, Indian Remy, Chinese, etc. If someone white wanted me to do box braids, I would do it. We don't hold a monopoly on a hair style.

And corn rows specifically are cultural to Black folks and all types of braids are linked back to Africa, those types our culturally ours. Too many Black women are discriminated against for having braids and then white folks do it and it’s all the rage ... that’s some BS and the very reason why I’m against it. @@danafisher8613 Black people wear French braids, Dutch braids, chignons, etc. Styles are tied to a culture but they are not exclusive to them. It has nothing to do with money for me, it's about living in a world and a society bigger than just yourself. That's like people of other cultures telling you that you can't eat their food or dress in their attire. As long as someone doesn't disrespect your culture or mock it is not an issue for me. While I understand the discrimination that BOTH Black MEN and women face with their hair, that's a separate issue within itself. A white woman walking down the street with box braids ain't had nothing to do with that.
BlackGaymerGod I think you fail to see the bigger picture. When White women use styles that are KNOWN to be a Style worn my Black Women or go to another Country like Jamaica or Africa and have their hair done in the styles of that culture it’s novelty and trendy for them. Black women ESPECIALLY in the US have been banned, ridiculed, fired or not hired from jobs, because of these very styles. A white woman does its it’s perfectly acceptable. It is culture appropriation and it has to stop. The fact that there is a Crown Act that’s being passed in many states is proof of that. White women don’t and won’t ever have to have a law passed to allow them to wear their hair as they choose. And to say the discrimination has nothing to do with a white woman wearing box braids individuals or corn rows has nothing to do with the discrimination would be very short sighted. That has everything to do with it. Since Bo Derek rocked braids in the movie 10 in the 80’s it has been a major issue. I have been around the sun to see it and personally have to deal with it. It is not a new concept or conversation. As long as Black women aren’t free from Racial Discrimination based on how they wear their hair, children are banned from graduation ceremonies even online, or kicked out of school , teachers cutting off locks and braids, it’s a HUGE issue. And when White people wear locs ( that they condemned Jamaicans for decades for wearing, then come to the US and think it’s a cool style) face no backlash, when they rock corn rows ( no clue to the history behind the style and don’t care) it’s stylish but Black women it’s considered Ghetto and not Professional. They are not separate issues it all stems from the same act. We can disagree but I roll with facts and reality and the reality is it’s culture appropriation ... these women are just taking from our culture and not giving one thought to the people. If they didn’t they would choose to wear French Braids Dutch Braids and alike that cause no issue for them but it’s always a problem for us. It’s very tiresome to have to deal with it on a regular.
