I really felt what Henny was saying. I wear my in hair in twist and cornrow styles most often so that is what I look for when I look at the work and service lists of so-called natural stylists. Even when I looked for a silk press service recently for my daughter, I made sure the stylist was familiar and comfortable with doing natural hair in other styling methods. I am not okay with going to natural hair stylists that only straighten natural hair.
I understand the anxiety in speaking on discontent with a hairstylist. When I first went natural 10 years ago my stylist told me I had to keep my hair straightened to have healthy natural hair. I’d gone to her for years when I was relaxed, and still felt like I couldn’t express my concerns to her without her giving me attitude so I just stopped going to her. This is what I’ve done when I felt like a stylist didn’t have my best interest at heart or didn’t have the expertise I needed with natural hair. It took me 8 years to find a stylist that had the expertise to care for my natural hair in its natural state and the compassion to listen to any concerns I have. No one should settle for less with something that’s so important to them. As you grow, become more confident with what you want for yourself your learn that people show you the respect you show for yourself. You’re your best advocate. Sorry for the long post. Enjoyed this LIVE and love the energy you have when helping others.
I. LOVE. HENNY!!!! I love her perspective on things. I always miss the lives, but I would definitely have called in with my horror story that ended in a physical fight (the stylist swung first). All over asking for a graduated bob on mid-back length hair.......Love your channel!!!
I loved elasta qp. I dont see why people stopped liking it. But then again i can use anything and make it work for my hair..but when i was new to learning my hair it would keep my hair soft and moisturized for a couple days..i need to find some more. Plus the smell is amazing
Thank you. There's nothing to really share. I do all the things they say not to do. I cleanse, moisturize, exfoliate, and use witch hazel as a toner/astringent. To be truthful my diet and mental and emotional freedom from stress and drama are probably more contributing factors to my skin than anything else. I avoid stress and drama like the plague, I am a loner that loves being in my own company and I have very few friends that don't require much from me to maintain my relationship with them. Aside from my health, I'm in the best place that I've ever been in my life
Hope you are doing well. Have you tried "gloves in a bottle"? Another youtuber I follow is a florist and often talks about this product helping her hands. Cvs is now selling it online. Love your streams.
Just wanted to say thanks for the Q&A!! Also I love elasta QP products since they done wonders for my hair. Though I'm noticing they are getting harder to find lately.
Scab hair is something I wish had actual research to look into. While I don’t think it’s ‘chemical still seeping out of the scalp’ I do suspect it may have something to do with a change in shape/damage to follicles during a chemical service-most especially if a burn occurs. Damage to the scalp after chemicals can take weeks to heal and it wouldn’t surprise me to see it affect someone’s new growth during that healing process. I’d conduct the study myself if I could.
I’ve had “scab” hair and how you described it is what I’m thinking it was as well. It wasn’t all over my head though, I had it in 4 spots on my head that I kept cutting for at least 2 years, the most maybe 4 years, because the hair felt rough, stayed tangled, the hair growing in those spots made my scalp hurt, and the shed hair from those areas had deformed bulbs. The bulbs would be really thick and elongated and once shed the pain would stop. The spots weren’t that big either they were probably maybe like the size of 2 quarters on both sides of my head, the top center, and my edges as well which had the most chemical burns. By year 4 is when I finally stopped cutting it and let those spots grow in, it felt less tangled and those spots were no longer sore to the touch nor while combing. Prior to this I was relaxed for 15 years since the age of 6 to 23 with 2 years off after a relaxer took out my hair.
Follow up question! If you wash your hair and put in leave in conditioner the day before a permanent color service, will it disrupt the process. I here conflicting things about your hair having to be product free depending on the brand of permanent dye being used. Does it really matter as long as your hair isn't excessively dirty and without excessive product build up? It's obvious really hard to go product free overnight when you have coily hair...
When I think of a "Natural" hair care salon.. It means embracing and working with the NATURAL texture, and styles not doing everything possible to REMOVE it and make it Euro-Centric as we have done for the last hundreds of years in this country... 🙄 We need to switch it up and perpetuate Afro-Centric...

Henny's tip about leaving something so they don't think you're leaving😂 Smart, I gotta do that

This was a great Q&A looking forward to the next one 😁😁
I like this call in feature ❤️❤️
The way that woman was looking at the camera as she was running the hot comb through that woman's hair was giving me anxiety. Dx
Saw this comment - You slap the flat iron out of her hand
- LMAO!!!
I get so discouraged when plant based recipes don’t turn out right. Spent all that time 🤣🤣

Moknowshair says she has medium porosity hair. She’s the only one I’ve heard of stating medium or normal porosity.
One thing about Monica is that she really does know cosmetology. That's one thing that I can never shade her for.
@@AfrikanHairGod 🤣
See y'all tomorrow?
Lemme find that gaming channel. I've been slacking on getting around to that. lol
Healthy snack!
I love you Narada! Give me a N!! You got your N, you got your N!! :-)
Pa-MAHD. Listening to that woman gave me a headache. =_=
