My grandmother just turned 103. She stills lives on her own. One time she told me the secret was to keep moving take stairs instead of elevators. If you stop moving your body will stop working.
I can attest to that. After I retired I did not do much of any exercise and boy, all of a sudden pain was everywhere in my body. Changed that habit right away with walking, swimming and just started rebounding on a mini trampoline. I am almost 67 and feel fantastic now. KEEP ON MOVING, people. 😊

@ I have degrees and I still take academic classes online. I cook for people and I have learned Romanian, Mexican, Indian, Japanese, and Chinese cuisines. I bake and I make bread from scratch. And I make a killer cheesecake. I crochet. I sew clothes and make my entire wardrobe. Currently I am making a 1940s set of garments. I am taking an advanced tailoring class. I sew for others. I make bobbin lace. I currently am learning to knit. I read voraciously. I have traveled all over the world, and I lived in the Middle East, and Romania, and learned Romanian. And I write fiction. I taught myself to build PC computers and the one I have now is number five. I am currently learning Linux. A pet project I have going is learning to use a traditional quill pen and ink, and I am mastering round hand, which was the script used in the 18th century. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you are engaged with life and not passively receiving someone else’s creations. of course, all of this takes time and some of it is slow going. I will lay one thing down and pick up something else for a while. Then drop that and pick up another project. I’m always engaged and eager and enthusiastic to try the next thing or perfect whatever I’m working on.
I’m 68…..one thing I’d suggest is that money CAN buy you happiness. because if FREEDOM and Life OPTIONS are important to you, having both WILL increase your happiness. I’m not talking being a slave to materialistic madness…I’m talking about having the financial resources to cover and ENHANCE your lifestyle. BE HONEST with yourself, your talents, abilities, goals. And that includes any college and major. It also includes ANY business you work for. Next, WORK your ass off for the next 40 years, the goal during being asset accumulation and debt elimination. BUDGETING, financial planning, etc. is required. Find something that you have a passion for…that also supports your life. Strongly liking or loving a job, career, or industry REALLY makes a difference in the working years. When you’re young, learn to lean in- and say Yes! To TRY. When you’re older, learn to say NO!
Being poor can be stressful. But I haven't seen many wealthy people that are happy. Sounds like exactly what she's warning against- living in an unbalanced way for the future. But like kamala says "Hard work is good work." I'd add...don't accrue any debt!
Well done lady 94. 👏👏. However please don't dismiss tv and reading. My mother is 94. She loves watching youtube and enjoys reading large print library books. Both help her use her brain and keep thinking 😊
When my grandmother died, I asked her what advice she had for me. I was 28. She said “avoid men, all they will do is take from you and bring you heartbreak, find a couple of really good female friends that you trust and make that your family”.
She is right. I can attest this. I am 54 years. Wasted my life on finding a real friend as a man. Discovered that a dog will allways be the real friend. Men cost me $$$, heartbreak, nasty outcomes, losing everything, my health, lots of years, my future, my functioning, sleep, having to move a lot ( losing again $$$ ), chronic instability, lost my only chance to an own appartment, etc. Your grandmother is right.
My mom also was a housewife and she did not do any exercise at all just stayed home cooking and cleaning the house and loved watching different shows on TV and she got to live to be 92. My dad was active man beside working bringing home the bacon as they say and he did all kinds of exercise and he lived only to be 74. So, different DNA it’s not how you live it’s all in your DNA 😂
I think that's the best interview with a remarkable person. We should take notice, she still has a glint in her eye and has kept her sense of humour. She would have experienced more hardships than most but it didn't wear her down. A long conversation with this lady would be interesting and I'm pretty sure filled with a lot of laughter and chuckles.
Yeah - and how does she not sound cynical? You can tell she had opinions (which I share) yet also sounded "detached" (as in I'm not on board but live and let live). I have a hard time with some of that
Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Instead of trying to predict and prognosticate the stability of the market and precisely when the change is going to happen, a better strategy is simply having a portfolio that’s well prepared for any eventually, that’s how some folks' been averaging 150K every 7week these past 4months according to Bloomberg.
the strategies are quite rigorous for the regular-Joe. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skillset/knowledge to pull such trades off.
I wholeheartedly concur; I'm 60 years old, just retired, and have about $1.25m in non-retirement assets. Compared to the whole value of my portfolio during the last three years, I have no debt and a very little amount of money in retirement accounts. To be completely honest, the information provided by invt-advisors can only be ignored but not neglected. Simply undertake research to choose a trustworthy one.
Just wanted to say, ‘Carol Vivian Constable’, my CFA, is the real deal in his field. Dig deeper into her background; she's got years of experience and is a goldmine for anyone diving into the financial jungle!

In 2013, I encountered a transformative experience through the reading of "Overcoming Spiritual Blindness" by James P. Gills, MD, which led to my embrace of Christianity. This newfound spiritual clarity also coincided with a significant improvement in my financial circumstances, with a monthly influx of $25,000. This financial stability has enabled me to contribute to religious causes and support charitable initiatives within my community. I am grateful for the abundance that has manifested in my life.
Wise and wonderful. Everything about Yvonne is ALIVE. She’s 20 years my senior; my goal is to follow in Yvonne’s footsteps and thrive as she has. My late father lived to age 94.5 fully compos mentis, just like Yvonne. Best interview ever.

I LOVE this interview. I wish this interview could be shown to young people all over the world! "Keep active" and "enjoy your work" are two important keys to a healthy life.
An exceptional interview ! Love the insightful old soul-young man who interviews, and the 94 year old woman who shares her wisdom. Very respectful of each other. Maybe there is some hope for humanity with good people who stand up. Otherwise the deadbeat zombies who blindly follow without any original thoughts will takeover the intellectual landscape.
Loved listening to this woman. I’m a bit younger but I had similar experiences growing up. My sister and I had lots of freedom. We would be outside every chance we got, we walked everywhere. We had to be home when the street, lights came on or when my dad whistled for us. I was taking public transportation to my school when I was in the fifth grade. I also remember the ration books during the war. My dad served in the navy. Thankfully he came home
She is timeless! Just radiant beauty! I love how put together she is! Im wondering why she never remarried…I am not married 24 years now, so I’m curious! How adorable her reaction to his age of 25!! LOL
Sweet heart, I admire you, I’m 88 think and feel like you. My mind is in good shape, but a bad knee keeps me more than I like away from gardening and long trips… but I’m strong headed and love life. I will not give up my rights nor my voting🙏🙏🙏
Yeah, she got divorced at a time when it was still highly frowned upon for women. She must have left him cause he was abusive and never got into that mess again.
My parents were married 75 years! We lost dad July 14, he was two months shy of 99! He retired from the insurance buisness at 57 but never quit working! He just worked on his on terms! He was active even up in the last few years when he was using a walker! He vacuumed out three cars and washed one in an afternoon at 97! He lived life simply and loved his county and hometown! He was a wealth of history of the local area! I pretty sure he was the last surviving ww2 vet in the county! My mom worked all her life and retired at 83! She's now 95 and living independently at her home! She still drives to get her groceries, banking, and visits dad at cemetary! I live 3 min away, and keep an eye on her! You got to keep moving, my dad rode a stationary bicycle up until his last days, he was driving and still we working on his lawnmower and cutting grass til the end! We miss him but he lived a full life! How many get to make it as far as they have! My grandfather used to say: when you get past 75 you are living on borrowed time!
Taking people at their word, doing work that you like, staying active even after retirement, and not wasting your time on marriage \ relationship if it doesn't bring you complete joy and fulfillment. That's how she has lived such a long beautiful life
I love this grandma❤ I have learned something from her. My worriness and complains become less and instead have more confident to keep moving forward and experience also the things that may come this life.
Wow. What a lovely, articulate and gracious Lady. I could listen to her all day. I love hearing someone's perspective on a long life. There is a lot of wisdom there. Thank you for sharing.
I personally dont think living to a certain age is a goal - its quality of life and being spiritually aware Happy to live to 70 or 80 but not into 90s! This place is not our permanent home - our eternal home is heaven
She looks great for 94. She is very mentally sharp also. My aunt passed away this August at 105 years old. She was very mentally sharp, lived alone until she passed away. About 7 months before passing she wasn’t able to walk any more. An assistant came and bathed her, brought her meals, gave her medicine and moved her from bed to recliner, then in evening back to bed. I talked to her on the phone almost every day. She was an amazing, phenomenal woman. She loved God and her family. She had one daughter, who passed away about 5 years ago, and had 9 children, who had children, and grandchildren. She was ready to go home to God and, said he wasn’t ready for her yet. I miss her.
This is awesome. We must learn from our elders. They have so many to tell us; some might be wise, some might not but it's good to hear their experience.
I am just short of 70 and I agree with her statement. My experience has been that those who should accept and love you the most let you down, some by small degrees and others in life changing ways. If you are a giver, yet still have self tespect or inherently know right from wrong, you end up cutting them off as easier and better for your soul to be olone. Other people also, in my experuence are either fickle or out for themselves Only my husband has loved me deeply and liked me, accepted me and wholeheartedly done the right by me. My younger brother who died in January., whilst a very different person to me, I know loved me also. I miss him
I love her gosh. . She’s mentioned she would not going back to 25 for money…. But instead shes mentioned experience, and places she’s have been went are the ones that’s makes her happy 🥹🥹 . Beautiful! What an amazing woman! I especially love that she doesn't try to hide her age under tons of make-up, etc., yet obviously cares for her appearance. Note her lovely manicure.
The one thing I'd share with my younger self is to say "don't borrow money" from anyone else at all and likewise with "lending" to anyone - they never give it back and it causes problems
I like her. Healthy life like my father's parents and sisters who all lived to their late 90s but with very different ways of life than this woman in Tuscany, Italy. Relaxed, calm, very religious, homebody types of people. I believe it's about genetics, less stress and a lot of luck. Good health creates long life. Not everyone is blessed with terrific health. You have that, you really have it all. May God continue to bless her. She's lovely.
So great. Her last words, "Be honest with yourself." Straight up, most important wisdom on having a sound mind there is on earth. Wish my parents would have listened to this wisdom. I tried to tell them. Told me to stop talking. Dad just passed, end state COPD and renal failure at 83. Smoked marlboro reds up to 5 weeks before he passed. Still had SOOO much life in him, no dementia. I miss him more than I can say. Mom still living but moderate dementia and COPD. Very negative attitude. No physical movement, TV, snacking and reading only. Only 81. The hardest part is being told to shut up when as a holistic wellness provider I could help so much. Ah well. Sometimes learning what NOT to do is the best lesson. Also, this woman he is interviewing was single most of her adult life. I heard results from a research study that showed that married men live longer than single men and single women live longer than married women. You all can do the math on that one. The world is a more dangerous place in some ways, and people's hearts are harder than ever, but it's a safe and more peaceful world in Jesus Christ. We are in prophecied end times, when you know Him that's the best news you've ever heard. Trust in God, the God of the Bible. NOT religion, not churches, not man, just Jesus. Peace everyone. 💞

I started gliding at the age of 11, solo'd at 19, learnt to do all aerobatics etc, air law, meteorology, such an exhilarating hobby. I was also an RN for 43yrs lol. I feel I've had a very good life ,I'm 66 and wouldn't want to go back to 25, no matter how good life was then, it's still good now in a calmer way lol 😅😂

The main points I've gotten from this lovely lady are ....acceptance ....go with the flow of life, no regrets ; gathered experiences are treasures!
Thanks much ❤❤❤❤
I admire older people you can learn from them I'm 60 years old and still learning
Love this. If you boil everything she says down to one thing, it's this: positivity.
Nah. You're mischaracterizing what she's saying to fit your Happy-Go-Lucky b.s.
@@GB-gf3dmWell said.
Got rid of my TV in 2005. I became, and remain today at 77, highly productive. I am never bored.
What do you do ?
She is my hero 🙂 I'm 70 now! 🙂
Wouldnt surprise me if u voted orange banana peel. U sound like u think u r pretty smart , i beg to differ
Being poor can be stressful. But I haven't seen many wealthy people that are happy. Sounds like exactly what she's warning against- living in an unbalanced way for the future. But like kamala says "Hard work is good work." I'd add...don't accrue any debt!
Wow, she's doing great for 94!
She is sharper and looks to be healthier than many people in today’s society 30 years her junior.
Really !!!
Well done lady 94. 👏👏. However please don't dismiss tv and reading. My mother is 94. She loves watching youtube and enjoys reading large print library books. Both help her use her brain and keep thinking 😊
Great point
She’s right women can do anything!!🎉❤
Or a good dog.
Beautiful 90+ year old. We need them around.
My Mom lived to 94. She was a housewife in a small town and watched a lot of TV. My Dad lived to 90. My childhood was like the guest.

This lady is a gem. Somebody should make a movie about her amazing life. Truly free spirit.
100%. She still has that spark
Yeah - and how does she not sound cynical? You can tell she had opinions (which I share) yet also sounded "detached" (as in I'm not on board but live and let live). I have a hard time with some of that
You are very much right, Alan. Best wishes from Australia. Jarmila.

I LOVE this interview. I wish this interview could be shown to young people all over the world! "Keep active" and "enjoy your work" are two important keys to a healthy life.
She is right, society and people change.
Yeah, I really believe most people are good people! The zombies maybe loud, but there are more kind people all around us.
"Be honest with yourself" - great advice that gave me chills.
She has not be married long. Had a career she loved. It is a good predictor of longevity
She is very articulate and has a bright mind. I agree with her!

She was single for whole life , that’s the secret .Divorced at 24 and never married , now you know the secret. 😅
Yeah she believes in marriage but obviously not that much😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Yeah, she got divorced at a time when it was still highly frowned upon for women. She must have left him cause he was abusive and never got into that mess again.
Listen again. She WAS married!
😂 😂 😂
That woman is the wisdom that the world needs
What an amazing lady! So glad she has grandchildren! 🙏🕊️
Taking people at their word, doing work that you like, staying active even after retirement, and not wasting your time on marriage \ relationship if it doesn't bring you complete joy and fulfillment. That's how she has lived such a long beautiful life

I miss her.
My condolences! My only aunt died in June. She was WAY younger than ur aunt and hid her illness. I miss her everyday 😢

Indeed, "what is age?" !! It is a number, you just continue living and doing, as much as you are capable.
She knows what she's talking about. She gets it and I love it. God bless this beautiful lady.
