Also, nobody gives a rip about male sexual harassment because nobody gives a rip about the health, success and welbeing of men apart from you can do for them and because any attempt at addressing or even bringing up men's issues gets attacked as misogynistic amd "distracting from women's issues." I don't even consider myself a "men's rights activist," but they're completely 100% right about this (and quite a lot actually, especially as it pertains toward the automatically favorable bias toward women in the Justice system, especially in family/divorce courts).
From an article aerly this year:
"When it came to addressing her co-star's attitude and conduct on the set of "The Witcher," Chalotra (Yennefer) revealed that Henry Cavill is "...incredibly professional, polite, brilliant, very experienced, clearly in the world of acting and being on sets that big, very experienced being a leader of a team with such grace." She went on to say Cavill's professionalism also benefited their close relationship as characters in the series, saying, "It's a real privilege to play alongside him, he was just so empathetic and his experience just helped in every conversation that we had." Summing up her clearly positive feelings about Cavill's on-set behavior, Chalotra said simply, "He cares about you; he cares about the show.""

The worst part about this is that Henry Cavill never made any diss of the netflix witcher publicly or in any social platform (as far as i am aware). When he left the show he just said a very PR statement about it. Basically he stayed professional about the whole thing and never mentionned any conflict whatsoever. The only reason we believe he left the show because of the writers is because we easily connected the dots over 2 facts : he said once in an old interview that he wishes for the show to stay true to the books, a ex-writer of the show said that the current writers disliked the witcher books.
The fact that they are trying to put the blame on Henry Cavill while he meanwhile never said anything about this whole "drama" is very telling of which side is acting more mature than the other...

If this is a NORMAL production team of PERFECTLY SANE people, they will be gracious about Henry leaving, they will wish him well, they might even wish fans to give their second pick for Geralt a chance, even if it's just all PR talk.
Just be professional and sell the idea that they trust that fans will eventually see that the Witcher show will not decrease in quality because of an actor change. If Henry is really as toxic as they're trying to tell us, then they should be ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ECSTATIC behind close doors of him leaving if anything, and will know that one of the right cards to play will be to STFU.
Instead, they throw tantrums, they attack and smear him, and they treat Henry's passion for the source material like a it's the worst thing an actor could have. These are the actions of someone who knows they lost someone who was carrying them, have nothing to add of their own, and they're fully aware that the Witcher license might as well be toilet paper in their hands without him.
It turns out this entire post was from some random podcast that talks about conjecture and even says everything is just rumored... The written post is just what one of the hosts said word for word on the podcast called Deux/U from Deuxmoi, which says they publish rumors, not facts, and certain events are either from the author's imagination or conjecture. So basically, it's People magazine. The lady said that post word for word at the very end of the podcast and ended it right after she read it, and nothing more. And even a disclaimer for the podcast says, "statements on this account have not been independently confirmed."
Update: the person responsible for pushing this narrative locked their account down and admitted that the story was untrue. Also apologized publicly in the header of the account. My guess is that Lawsuits suddenly dropped so they had to quickly retract…

After reading that the original script wanted to make fun out of Roach's death it's pretty obvious how incompetent those writers are.
It was only thanks to Henry that that scene was changed into a serious moment.
Imagine the frustration of the one writer in that room. Repeatedly asking what the title of the show was. Constantly asking what monster will Geralt fight this episode. While the rest of the room keeps pumping out scene after scene concentrating on the supporting characters. Constantly trying to limit Geralt to a brooding hulk that barely knows what is going on and being a spear holder in HIS story. I’m almost positive he was annoying to them. The gall of him trying to make them write scripts that were loyal to the lore. All the while Caville was doing the same thing from the actor side. I don’t doubt they were seen as a coalition.
If they want female centric shows perhaps pick IP with female main characters. But I suppose those just don’t get greenlit that often and a writer has to eat. This means they get jobs on shows they don’t really want to write for. Now they just change the show they are on. Much like gamer reporters that wish they were working for different companies just concentrate on the facets of the games that coincide with their own interests not the gamers they are supposed to be writing for.
unfortunately it's not that female centric shows don't get greenlit or there are no shows with female main characters, this type of people don't want to make a great female character they want to take down a male character.

Fits the real superman
If you read that entire thing with a shred of an Average IQ, it sounds like they were tying to make the Witcher about girl power and Cavil abs.
I'd say the hints were there in season 1 and season 2 made it all the more obvious that they want to be writing a lesbian girl boss power fantasy and would rather sideline the actual main character of the Witcher series and use him mostly just as eye candy for straight women by having him shirtless frequently rather than actually being the main character of the story.
I was never too familiar with Henry Cavil, outside of superman, but the more i learn and watch interviews with him the more i like him. he just seems like a very wholesome and respectful dude.

Yes I'd respect him more if all of this were true.
I don't understand how not wanting to do romantic scenes could ever be something to get upset at an actor for. If he's refusing to do it, it wasn't in his contract, which means he has absolutely every right in the world to say no and there is nothing you can do to change that or get your money back. You can't write something good if you don't have a passion for it and it seems like the writers don't have that passion whereas Henry does.
@@sl9dge but it was though.

@@SignificantPressure100 All words have appropriate uses. Only losers care about shaming people for using them lmao
@@sl9dge Season 1 was amazing, season 2 was a disappointment and mediocre at best. You can tell these shit writers really hate source material and wanted to put in their own garbage ideas to make it look like they wrote the whole thing themselves and didn’t just make a series out of a game or books.
He's like a polite Chad tho lol
I remember playing the first Witcher game back in 2008 and falling in love with the world. I started reading any of the books that back then had been translated to English and was even so desperate to read more that I started reading some of the fan translated books. I obviously played Witcher 2 and Witcher 3 when they released and eventually read all the books. So it's safe to say that I'm a huge Witcher fan.
When the first season of this show dropped, I actually kinda enjoyed it, there were deviations but it was clear they were at least trying to follow the first 2 books and tell the short stories somewhat faithfully. However, I didn't like the second season much, very few moments from the books were kept, but rest was basically fan-fic and some of the story beats straight up upset me, because they clearly wanted to change shit for the sake of not following the books. Like turning Eskel into a Leshen (WTF). I'll watch the third season for Henry's sake cause he was clearly the only one who seemed to give a damn about the books, but after that I'm done with anything Witcher related Netflix churns out. The new Blood Origin show looks fucking abysmal too.
These accusations clearly makes it seem like Henry was getting frustrated with how the writers were trying to rewrite the entire story and now they are just attempting to save face by trying to throw Henry under the bus. Fuck Netflix, honesty.
I wasn't a least bit surprised that Mr. Cavill is getting cancelled and character assasinated by everyone nowadays after having disagreements with the direction Witcher TV-show seems to be taking. I wish all the best for him in his new Warhammer 40k production. He is cool dude and I refuse to believe any of this BS.
If anything she proved that he was right.
What I have noticed in my decades on this planet interacting with other people, is that very often the ones making a huge deal about being disrespected are often the ones disrespecting others. And the person they complain about is just having a normal reaction to an enormous amount of their bullshit.

I think the only way to talk to those people is to call them "deeply misandrist, toxic and other buzzwords..." because they clearly dont understand normal human language.
I work in theatre. What you've read is how directors talk about actors who care about the source material more than the director wants to sell it as wide and as cheap as possible.
This is ridiculous 😒. I'm a women and I love video games. I love playing FPS, RPG, dungeon crawlers, mmos, ect. Its insulting to me that people think it's all men who play games. Not to mention that what they are doing with the show is basically plagiarism
It sounds like Henry Cavill just wanted to stay faithful to the books and they weren't having it.
Their attempts to paint him negatively only makes him more based. Toss a coin to your gamer bro
Nah, he’s absolutely being a gamer. He quit the game because his teammates were trash.

Woke culture is just devoid of any logic and reasoning... I can't even...
They will only assassinate their show in the end.
Its concerning that a writer labelled as a "gamer" lost his job due to HR complaints without giving any more reason, our mans might have lost his income because how dare he be in a gamer alliance, that just isn't acceptable in this economy
Shit given how she raged that Henry didn't want to be naked on camera all the time maybe she complained to HR after the writer wouldn't strip for the women at the office. Wouldn't surprise me in the least in this day and age they probably would throw darts at the naked dude for empowerment or some diversity bullshit.
sounds like he was labeled a gamer because he would use the game to justify how he was trying to write and trying to get them to write more in line with the game.

This just made me love Henry even more.
How could anyone attack him? He is so wholesome, he literally almost lost his role because a wow raid.
That man is a gift from above yo.
Henry not wanting to do shirtless scenes makes a lot of sense. In an interview, talking about his bath scene in the first season, he talked about how he had to dehydrate himself so his skin would be tighter. He said that he would have 1.5L one day, 0.5L the next, and then none on the day of the shoot. He also said that by the end of that, he could smell water nearby. That's not healthy!
Yeah and as a guy who recently got BUFF for the first time in my life I have noticed more and more sexual harassment like being groped and shit in public mostly by milf/older women who don't give a fuck about men's autonomy but would be OUTRAGED if the scenario was reversed and a young woman got groped without consent in public at church or grocery stores gyms etc it's fucking ridiculous the double standards and privileges women get.
To be frank that protocol was tarded and any bodybuilding prep coach would shake their head at it, it can be done so much simpler. Most men, even in shape ones, don't like to take their tops off. Here is the thing, ACTORS HAS CONTRACTS, similar to how you would apply to a job and SIGNING THIS LEGAL PIECE OF PAPER ARGREEING TO DO STUFFS ON THAT JOB. So if he left and there is no complaints or legal actions from the writers or his employers, meaning THEY broke the contract first somehow! This is a million dollars series worth of damage we are talking about, I believe that if Henry violate their original contract, in any sense of the phrasing, he would have been sued. Which means he DIDN"T which means this is just kids rampaging about how grown ups take away their toys because they are being naughty which is really sad due to the fact that they are supposed to be "grown-ups successful directors"
What this reads to me;
Henry Cavill wanted to stay true to the source material of games and books (both of which hold their own canon). Showrunners got mad that Cavill took a stand, with him re-writing scenes to better portray his character in the proper light. Writers didn't enjoy the canon and kicked off a member of the writing team that tried to stick to the source material and gave a warning to Cavill. He didn't like that they warned him for just wanting to make his character true to who he is and sent a strongly worded message.
Whether he quit or was kicked off wouldn't matter in this situation. And it was made all the worse by them trying to force him into intimate scenes and appear shirtless. Yet, as a respectful actor he chooses not to comment poorly on other people's demeanor and was probably forced to sign some sort of waver as well. But outlying forces come crawling through, trying to defend themselves from the Internet's immediate knowhow and spread disinformation to paint Cavill in a bad light.
I bet that when he was using "gamer language" he was desperately trying to explain to the clueless writers how in that particular situation Geralt would be using *igni* instead of *ard* or something like that.
I'm thinking its more simple than that and he just said "RPG" at some point and it blew their minds.
@@omgvague nah i bet everyone but that one other gamer ducked as they thought "OH GOD A ROCKET PRAPELLED GRANADE WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE RUN!!!"
When non gamers hear someone say RPG a RPG-7 comes to their minds not that cluster fuck of a genre that no one could define what a RPG is because a lot of games muddied the water too much that the term just like autism is a spectrum as everything shares similarities
after each successful scene he would shout "GG, NO RE!" and that was disturbing
I can only imagine that when she says "Video game bro language is not how you talk to coworkers and he wouldn't stop" Henry literally said something to the effect of: "Hey I noticed in the script that I'm supposed to just stab the monster to death, but in the games you're actually supposed to use the Igni sign against it. It might be a little difficult but I think we can pull it off and it'd end up way closer to the games!"
Very plausible

And then they’ll come back out like 2 months later claiming that they were “needlessly harrassed” by angry trolls and play the victim. These people literally don’t know how to take consequences for their own incompetent actions
So much respect for Cavel. Mans was standing up for the fans so much that he sent in his resignation. Actual GIGACHAD
Emilie Clark from GOT said I don’t wanna do romantic scenes anymore after her first season and they respected that
You know it's bs when they said "it's like watching someone get brainwashed" as game playing was new. Cavill famously said he missed Snyders call to offer superman cause he was raiding in wow. He's always been a big gamer.
Difference between missing a phone call about a possible upcoming job in your off time vs not showing up to work that’s been agreed upon, anyway
@@Cadian9t Sounds more as they are abusing that known fact of him to slander him. There's 2 parts to this:
1. If it's true, it's a recent development as none of his previous project reported any sort of issue with it
2. It's kind of normal when you are getting disinterested in the project because non-fans try to change it into something else.
As a metaphor: Somebody is working on a project car, wants it to be a sleek nice showoff car, but then a new partner comes in and demands and even works on it to make it a family car. Ofc you lose interest in it and activly sabotage it, it's becomming any other car now, it's not special.
Henry wants to create a Witcher story on screen, but from season, even episode 1, they are making pushing Yennefer forward and even ahead of Geralt.
If it's true, I understand how these events played out, I understand Henry's point and the writer team (who's massivly stacked with women for this kind of deflection as part of the reason) wanted to push to a different story.
But I think this is closer to Slander because there's absolutly no specifics so nobody can acuratly coroborate.
It’s unreal, he didn’t do anything sleezy towards them so they’re upset that he wanted to keep it canon so they had to try and destroy his character still💀

Not only that, but his female costars regularly gush about him in interviews (often completely unprompted) about how wonderful and kind he is, how he has taught them so much, and he's always respectful.

Henry clearly deserves a ton of respect for sticking to the source material of where the whole franchise originates from and trying to make the wish a reality. Yet then you get hollywood who clearly doesn't care about what people want and pushing their agendas thus ruining what made something amazing in the first place, to become immersed and enjoyed the character. The accuser making allegations probably never read the books where cavill surely reads the audience knowing facts from fiction
All of Henry Cavill's behavior in this "leak" is so easily explained. We know he was frustrated because the directors wouldn't stick to the material. He tried to be faithful to the story, and the directors weren't having any of it. They're just painting him in the worst light possible to hide the fact that the directors were making the worst decisions possible and Henry knew this.

The show starts ok and promising, isn't as good as books but they have time to make it better and flesh out the characters. You hear that Henry is asking for more ways to show Geralt inner monologue and his complexity and the nature of his character, then you hear he is parting ways with the show, then there is the leak where people claim writers on the show make fun of the books and not in a good way either and you remember that the show had questionable moments, then there is this. I mean... Something doesn't add up.
It came from a website that has in its site description that any stories from there are false or simply guesses
The person who made these accusations has made a.... "legal disclaimer" and retracted her statement
I'm guessing Henry's lawyers reached out with some questions. Rumors can get out of hand rather quickly.
There's a reason why people don't trust women when they come out with allegations such as "he was mean to me, thus let's pretend he is the devil now."
That kind of behavior bleeds into actual cases of when women come forward with abuses. People tend to have a distrust of that because of stuff like this. HR departments are a bit too drunk on power and the people running them seem to have ego issues.
I guess it wasn't enough for Henry to leave the show. They had to try and ruin him as a person too. Very petty stuff from people pretending to be saints
He was obviously toxic though, he is addicted to video games.
I see why he refused to film romance scenes. He could probably feel some bad vibes on set and didn't want to give anyone room to accuse him of anything. Plus the shirtless scenes required him to be dehydrated for days at a time, he talked about how miserable it was in an interview.
@@dontsubcribedontlike673 Generally when doing shirtless scenes or bodybuilders doing a contest are closer to passing out from dehydration than they are to fighting off a horde of enemies or lifting like a boss. The writers could have had an extremely easy job with Henry if only they weren't smearing shit on the witcher lore. I hated watching Netflix's witcher season 2 btw
Exactly, he was hired as an actor to read the script and act not write a script and rearrange props on sets, imagine people on the set who were hired to do these jobs may have felt ... Irrelevant if his ideas were good or not, irrelevant if his intention were good or not ... objectively as film industry goes it was not his place nor job! And we know he did this thing because he himself said he tried to influence writers and change direction because he felt source material was not respected! I am not defending producers I agree with Henry on this but still ... it was not his job! So if he felt disrespected and started sulking ... I believe this 100% ... I work in the film industry and have seen actors do that many times... particularly when it comes to their own image on the screen, they always think they know better than the entire make up department... it is normal and only human!
