Hi Everyone! I forgot to add subtitles during the Police stop, but have now added them inside the UA-cam studio app. But you have click on the CC button in the video options to enable them. Hope you enjoy!
I would be very careful of what you put up or say my friend. I am very certain alot of police are chanel members of yours. This someday may come to hurt you not help you buddy. I've had comments from a couple that are extremely different to the typical UA-cam replies... As a rider of over 45 years I don't like seeing other bikers troubled by police over nothing... Police may be kind and polite, even friendly. But at the end of the day they only stop people to get a prosecution out of them. Even if you were friendly with them, they will still issue you with a fine. They are never stopping you to be friendly. Of course it's respectable of us to be polite and courteous to them, even respectful. But it's not our job to help them get something on us to take us to court because of something we say... Respect my friend.
@@evelghostrider This video has nothing to worry about, his riding was much calmer than mine is and I've been uploading years with no issues. You will only potentially get in trouble if you are being reckless/dangerous, as for talking to the police, you can say whatever you like to them if you have nothing to hide.
So from your reply i can tell you have never had a bad negative experience with police... as to say nothing to hide, nothing to fear is very concerning and here is why.... Im walking home from bar with friends. Police cars come round corner and stop us... they start asking questions... Like you my friends believed as they have done nothing wrong there is no reason not to speak to them... so my friends start explaining their night... Their innocent answers to police got us all arrested on suspicion of murder... People gave a witness statement of 4 men wearing similar clothes to us and running of in our direction.. Police were not their to ask you how your night went and do you need a lift home. They were looking for something but they dont tell you what.. This is how 95% of people get arrested, because they speak to police thinking and believing police were helpful to them... I was released after 24 hours, my friends were held for 3 months and lost jobs etc.. but they were innocent. Police ask you questions and can legally lie to you so they can do their investigation. .. do police ever turn up at your work and help you do your job ? So why should you help them do what they are getting paid for ? Innocent people get arrested and innocent people are in jail, all because they talked to the friendly police.@HalfdeadRider
@evelghostrider do you think if you didn't talk to them they'd have left you to go on your way when you matched the descriptions from a witness statement?
@@malcellison8831people seem to forget this, it’s like when you go fishing you get one on the line and then spot another one you don’t cut the line you stick with the fish you already have
Smallest violation in the traffic act there is, police tend to not enforce it. Never seen anyone get pulled for it despite how many marked/unmarked cars ive seen on patrol. Bigger violations are enforced.
With the amount of bike thefts, is reassuring to know that the cops are randomly checking things. A small inconvenience and nice guys, so I wouldn’t have a problem with that 😀
Until they find something silly on you. Then you get arrested then life gets turned upside down... When police stop you they are intent on funding something wrong to have a conviction..
Headlights are low down on the totem pole - sure it maybe a safety issue, but the profits of billionaire insurers comes first. There's always police resources available for that, but not when your bike get nicked.
@@RTPOVreally? That’s the first thing I noticed. I couldn’t see anything wrong with your driving, but that headlight stands out a mile away yet they didn’t pull that driver! In my experience if a driver hasn’t fixed a light issue like that, the rest of the car isn’t gonna be up to scratch either! 🤷
Liked the video because of how relaxed you were and how you didn't resort to mouthing off or criticising the police for it afterwards. You handled the situation well and praised them for doing their jobs. Well done.
Back in the '90s I used to commute into Liverpool City centre from Warrington (or maybe it was St Helens by then...) and there's a nice bit of dual carriageway between Knotty Ash and the centre where the traffic backed up, so filtering between the two lines of slow moving stop-start traffic made a huge difference to my journey time. One time I spotted a police bike filtering behind me, so, unsure of my ground, I pulled into a gap in the traffic, which was just coming to yet another halt at that point. The cop pulled alongside me and stopped, and I thought I was for it, but he just nodded in the direction of the traffic flow and said "come ahead lad" (more like: come 'ed la' 😀), and rode off, so I followed him in probably the fastest and safest filtering of my riding days!
Well done for showing the Police just doing their job, If you wasn't insured and had an accident it could cause a world of pain for others to deal with.
@alisonb4898: "That old chestnut….not on our system" I'm just glad I read the comments first as I was going to use that line myself🤣🤣 You beat me to it 😂😂 👍
Well why pull him otherwise! Honestly they won't pull you and waist their own time there will always be a reason, trust me I give them enough excuses to pull me over (Small plate, ride a little fast most the time, quite a loud pipe and filtered past police countless times over the years) but have never been pulled on a bike in my entire riding career of over eight years.
Stumbled across your videos last night through shorts and you have a such a peaceful way of riding. I recently got my cbt along with a few boys and find that ego riding is a real thing. Safety is a flex! I drive a car and try to ride a bike whenever I can and truly believe that it can be a wonderful experience. Stay safe out there, continue with these gems and swnding love and blessing to you and your pillions!
@RTPOV London. Just a little bit chaotic. Didnt have my first pcx too long before it became a target for opportunists. Hopefully you never experience it in Liverpool. Stay safe bro!
I would suggest a High Vis Yellow Helmet. I saw a guy the other day from MILES away. I saw this yellow dot in my mirror and I kept looking at it wondering what the hell it was. Anyway, It caught up my truck and I then saw its a bikers helmet. Mate it stood out like a sore thumb from a LONG distance away. Better than a high vis jacket because its unusual and thats what caught my eye.
That’s what life’s about just being friendly instead of these idiots shouting about knowing their rights and not giving their details . Safe riding chap and hats off to the police for just doing their jobs in a professional way
I live in Huddersfield and used to work in Stockport. Going home on my Blackbird, I could do the 30 miles on the M60/M62 in 30 minutes. It could have been less if I'd been irresponsible, but I'm not. Then, some evenings, I'd go via parts of Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, 70 or 80 miles, just because I was on the bike.
As a 90s Hot Hatch kid I was so used to being pulled and given producers. I never once thought it was anything other than them doing their job and trying to save boy racers lives.
This video was on my "algorithm", so had a watch. IMO, it was your 0-30 that flagged the police to run your plate, just in case it was stolen, and you were trying to get away. But big up, for them being so nice about it all. Will be subbing for more videos - ride safe!
I took off fast at the lights once, after filtering, in an 80km zone. I got up to 80kmh quickly, but did not go over. Next thing there was a Police car right on my rear. They stayed there for two seconds, then braked, and turned off. They just wanted to see if I was speeding. I wasn't. :) Didn't even see them, till they moved next to me, before turning off.
I’ve told my teenage son if you get stopped by the police just be polite and friendly and they will be the same with you rather than jumping into plastic gangster mode
An old girlfriend lived in Camberwell (South London) and I used to love riding down through the city to visit her. Although I had to stay really switched on, I always found that ride enjoyable and not at all stressful. Unlike that time on the M25 when a coach clipped one of those huge traffic cones and sent it spinning into the road missing me by inches. Probably caused chaos for the cars behind.
You're right I love my bike. For the fact I can jump on it and reset my brain mood and feelings etc for that day. A bike licence should be suggested to anyone with mental health issues because it helps 100%
I got pulled for exactly the same reason. Private plate but I forgot to tell the insurance company. Police were parked up in a lay-by and as I went past they said it set off their ANPR system. Like yours, they were very nice and asked me to find proof via email that I was covered.
This makes a refreshing change because, naturally, you expect the worst. But whenever I've had any contact with the old bill over my bike they've always been as good as gold. Bottom line was (as told to me by an officer) if you're not doing anything wrong, we're not going to bother you. If you are then we'll pull you for that.... and for the can/visor/numberplate/etc if necessary...
There is nothing better than riding in a cold Autumn and Winter with the brisk cold air, as long as the ground is dry... I usually dislike the police. However, they acted as you say, very professional.
Ah man thank you so much for taking time to say that! Glad you appreciated that side of things! Still got a lot to learn and improve! Do you edit yourself?
@RTPOV hi, was riding a HD xl1200cx roadster about 4 years ago and had bad off, rear tire blow out ! Nocked my confidence. Still have gen 1 Hyaubusa in my garage that needs to be sold on but can't bring myself to sell it yet. Had Kawasakis, a Buell cyclone and a couple of CCM's in the past so had a few. 64 now but still have older friends who ride but not sure I will again and the wife is not keen on me getting back on after last time. Really enjoyed my biking adventures though😊. Stay safe out there.
I always carry a printout of my insurance ( like a screenshot ) because phones are always temperamental when you need them, especially in the city environment or when you’re out in the sticks!
I've heard from a police traffic Sargent that they don't accept screenshots as people intentionally take put a policy, screenshot it, and cancel, using their old details as evidence. It's an interesting one.
Was about to make the same comment. I had a police encounter a few years ago, same thing, anpr alerted no insurance. I knew I was insured, problem was, I have 4 or 5 bikes insured at a given time, mostly with different companies, and I can never remember which is which, or even the company names! Also, I never open service accounts on the different companies, as I mostly change companies at every renewal, for the best deal. So when I was asked who I was insured with I replied I didn't have a clue!! That got one of those police looks, so I added the reason why. He got all snotty with me and threatened to confiscate the bike there and then and have it impounded, etc, etc, unless I cooperated! I further explained and asked why I couldn't just get a producer, as he had already checked that I was the registered keeper, and I had produced id. He really was being an utter w4nker about it but eventually he capitulated and gave me a producer. So now, I carry a hard copy of the insurance cert for the relevant bike. And anyway, when you take a producer with your cert of insurance, they only copy the details and never seem to check if it's valid or not!!
@@turboslag Do they still let you go off with producers? I thought those were a thing of the past given insurance companies are all mostly online. Like in this video, they will request you to log in to the website or show an email with a link through it to the main website
@@audify3833 It was about 5 or 6 years ago, maybe it's changed since but I definitely got one then. I always get physical paperwork from insurance companies and never use their online portals, so I wouldn't be able to bring anything up online anyway. I'm not going to be the only person like that so cops would have to be able to provide a producer. If the vehicle is in your name and you can provide those details it's not like it's suspicious, if you're not insured you get done, that's it. I've never driven uninsured though, that's a fool's game
So glad your channel is blowing up. Your videos are entertaining, great quality and so educational. Picked up so many tips. Thanks for the filtering tips. Very helpful for me in Birmingham! Gets very messy around 5pm in the city centre. Look forward to your next one. Maybe some more vids about bike care like chain maintenance or something. And also about winter storing? Also subbed
Ah thank you for saying that! It really means a lot and it is so nice to have someone wishing me well and putting out some positivity! Yes I do plan to do a winter prep video as mine is due, although il.be prepping it for riding not storing, haha, most likely applying a ceramic coating etc. Also have to get to work on that bobber build I bought a few months ago! Take care in B'ham, and your right, it does get mental down there... I might have to come down just to film a filtering challenge there 😂
@@RTPOV oh thank you for replying! Yes if you ever come down here do let me know. Sadly I don't have any rider friends. I have a CBR 650r. Lovely sport bike but I wouldn't be able to keep up with you in a drag race haha. I thought a winter storage video would be good. Loads of videos and opinions about winter storing on UA-cam that just confused. I'd rather take advice from a trustworthy source. Seems like a lot of people are looking for an experienced biker in the UK to guide them. So many American videos but the weather and the roads are not the same here. Thanks again.
Are you riding through winter? Id gladly meetup, we're not too far away. In fact, I'm coming down for the bike show at the NEC next month ! Lovely bike btw, love the CBR!

It wouldn't be the end of the world, you are not legally required to carry any documentation proving who you are, where you live, whether you are the owner of a vehicle, or what type of driving license you have. You would be on your way and they would give you a time period to go to the station with whatever documents they need to see. The only exception would be if the bike was flagged in their system as stolen (you are probably not riding home), or you were in an active crime and they had to stop you. But it's not a bad idea, a picture on your phone saves you wasting your time going to the station later.
MIB "admit" that around 10% of vehicles show as no insurance incorrectly. MIB are one of the most incompetent organisations for data failure that I've had to deal with. You mean your baffle fell out, 😂
The filtering was ok. A lot of people get confused about filtering. It is allowed in slow moving traffic e.g. waking pace and still traffic. Where is is not allowed is where the cars are moving at normal progress. There is the general perception if the cars are bunched up you can filter, but not if they haven't already slowed down.
Pretty sure when I did some advanced riding with the police class 1 riders. We were told all filtering is allowed. And very much encouraged. I know my memories not the best but....
It is completely allowed and encouraged to filter. There are basic guidelines and a lot of it is common sense. It’s stated that you should be carrying it out at a safe speed and if the environment around you can facilitate it. I.e, don’t do 50mph down the middle even if traffic isn’t moving. So discretion is exercised here. As for being behind the lead vehicle. I’d be inclined to follow that rule if I could rely on other motorists to make an efficient departure from a standstill. Sadly most don’t - they sit there with the light green and then don’t get on with it up to the speed limit. Even when I’m driving, I’ll leave the lights, get up to the speed limit and the cars behind are still hundreds of yards behind! I’m not out to drag race but if people took more of an interest, congestion and traffic would be dramatically reduced. Thanks for the uploads. I’d be interested to hear about the Bikesafe course If you happen to mention it in any of your uploads. Have a good time 👍
I got pulled for the same reason - dvla messed up the registration when I bought a used car and I got pulled for it, but police were ok when I showed them proof of insurance
The issue with some of this filtering is that it highlights poor lane discipline and that’s an issue for a lot of road users not knowing where you are heading. Not knowing where a bike is going is part of the problem and creates a bad name for all bikers, labelling everyone the same. But for you, good job, using indicators, telling everyone that you’re changing lanes. All bikers need to show that they are this responsible, it’s not just down to other drivers, everyone needs to come together to meet half way on this one
@@RTPOVyeh they chatting S. Ask mid or ask mib will tell you straight away if your showing as insured. I got this back when i was 18 in a vauxhall Astra. I've had something similar on the day of my MOT, it passed and I had the cert in my pocket. Slight problem with my indicator flashing too quickly made not look like it had a bulb out. Officers followed me for a little while, but when stopped, they were polite and knew my name, which suggests they ran my plate a mile or so down the road before pulling me over. Maybe to see if I'd run? Anyway, they did there job, I took another detour on my way home from the MOT centre and all was well. If your not doing anything wrong, you've got nothing to worry about. Having had my bike stolen a year or so ago, it's good that they're stopping people to check people's details out. Just a shame they can't run them off the roads when they're riding around on stolen bikes with no helmets on. Ride safe 😎
Sorry to hear your bike got stolen. Where from? how was it secured etc? Im quite paranoid about leaving mine places and dont really leave it anywhere out of sight
@RTPOV unbelievably from outside my house. Chain was secured to a ground anchor. Ponked the chain off at 2am and bungled it into the back of a van parked down the street. Neighbour woke us up and I went searching for it. Never found it until I got a phone call 2 days later. I'll tell you about when we meet up one day 😅
@@RTPOV I'd say always lock up your bike the best you can when out and about. I chain and have a disc lock with an alarm on. Visual deterrents go a long way, but I still park it somewhere I can see it.
I was getting onto the ferry from Birkenhead and one of the police alerted me that my insurance was due to start the day after. I'd just bought the car earlier that day and obviously the insurance company messed up the start date. He just said it was ok because in another 1.5 hrs I'd be insured anyway, smiled and waved me on, so I agree about the Mersey police being reasonable guys.

Hello there, 0:33 - 0:55 quote was oh so true, that's exactly how it is sometimes, occasionally going for a ride in any weather clears your head and for me anyway it's the best therapy I can think of. Rarely have I returned from a ride without a smile on my face. The two cars running together is obviously a police tactic as I've seen it in action in Derbyshire and North Yorkshire. Your reason for being stopped reminded me of a rather nasty bit of work stopping me for so called speeding, a good reason for a dash cam with the speed on by the way, anyhow he says I'm not showing as insured on the system, I know I am but this is before it was on phones. So I ring my insurance company, on speaker, and let him talk to them. It had been a fault with the link from the insurance database as they said they'd had loads of calls already that day. Satisfied he went and gave me a caution for my speed, when I checked when he clocked me, he was stopped on a layby, the dash cam recorded a speed of 78km/h in a 50mph area (80km/h) as I went by him! Ride safe enjoyed that little ride/encounter. P.S. I rarely have a bad experience from getting stopped by the Police but the one I mentioned was one of the worst. I always take my helmet off to talk to them or get out if I am in a vehicle, and show an equal respect.
Nearly all cars have auto ANPR now - I’d be worried as well, as I can’t even log in to my insurer 😅. Some sound words of advice too and glad they didn’t look at the exhaust hahah they’d get me too. Ride safe!
Hi. Having ridden motocycles since I was a teenager I have come acroos my fair share of cops. Most have been reasonable but inevitably you do come acros a few idiots. I like you believe that my safety is paramount and sometimes the police don,t quite get that. So I,ve had the "I,m the one who will have to call your mother and tell her , blah blah blah" routine. But I have been riding for 30 years so I like to think that I know what is dangerous to me. Perhaps they should concentrate on incosiderate car drivers and pedestrians a bit more. And before anyone says anything I have also been dring cars and trucks for the same length of time. So i am a very experienced driver. It was nice to see that they dealt with you fairly and with respect. Safe riding bud. Stay safe and ride on.
I used to have a night black K1200S. I loved it. I put 88k miles from new on it. Seeing your K1300S brought back happy memories. Our UK police in general are ok. Do a Bike Safe course locally for “extra protection”!

@@RTPOV Enjoy Bike Safe, and as soon as you have your Certificate, ring your insurer. I had a hiatus of 9 years and so when I got my RT, I had zero NCB. When I did Bike Safe, it came down from £840 a year to £320! Definitely worth doing and you'd have to do something terrible for them not to give you the Cert!
Is your want to glow in car head lights. The best £100 I ever spent was just recently. on a Richa rain flare jacket. 100% waterproof SO NOT BREATHABLE. but keeps the wind out this time of the year. So less layers needed.. might be a bit much in the summer (even though it even glows in sunlight)
Most of the cops in the city are sound - I used to commute from Wales into the city daily, never had a bad run in with them. Filtering isn't illegal, as I'm sure you know. To answer your question, when you're stopped and the unmarked car has disappeared, you can see the ANPR camera on the roof of the marked car. From there, they probably had a chat on the radio with a "if either of us get a chance, lets have a chat with him." The route you were going, I'd wager that they weren't working tactically together, they were probably both headed back to the station and just happened to meet up (and I don't mean the main station car park, I think that unmarked volvo is based at the tunnel - or at least seems to park a lot at the lil "kiosk" as you head down into Kingsway)
So about 10 years ago I had a similar experience..I was filtering through traffic past cop car and there was surprise surprise a uneven bit of tarmac and I had a spare helmet in a bag on bag which swung to side and clip a car's mirror, looked in my mirror but no headlight flash so presumed all ok , 5 mins down the road I had to pull in to pick my daughter up and cop car and the car with mirror I clipped pulled in , the car who's mirror I broke right off was a unmarked CID car 😂 wtf !!! Of all the 100+ cars I filtered past I hit a CID car .. but what great guys they were, they said I did absolutely nothing wrong in their eyes, I thought I might have been going ABIT quick as I wanted to get to my daughter so she wasn't waiting by herself. But brilliant cops and nothing came off it not even paying for the replacement mirror . So not all police are bad .
I'm of the view that they have a job to do and I'm fully legal with nothing to hide so I have no issues with them stopping to check that. If I'm breaking any laws then it's my own fault if I'm in trouble.
Same happened top me: Cop asked me to jump into the van, which I did. Turns out one of the numerals on my insurance was the wrong away around . He got that sorted for me whist we waited. He told me that he was a biker; we talked about bikes. His final tip for me: take a look at my speedometer before passing a van with POLICE written on the side of it 😉
On behalf of the entire biking community THAN KYOU! and yes drivers often close the gap on us. But in fairness, i think more drivers give us room in general. Well they do around here, it might be different in other parts.
Not a good idea... if you show an officer your phone and he takes it for better view... You have now given them access to look through your phone... You may think your innocent, but its not viewd by police as innocent ... Keep photo copy of insurance on paper on your bike in a zip lock tucked away. Or just in your pocket or something you always carry...
Friend i am speaking from experience... i had an officer click out of photo and start looking through my photos and then try and create a serious issue from that... When you get asked about photographs of children on your phone by police you know they are looking for something much much worse... Say they see a photo of a peraon with a fake toy gun or drugs... you are now getting arrested and all from this innocent pull over where they say no insurance. . I always ask them to show me their proof first they see no insurance. I drive multiple vehicles, none of them are insured... I am insured to drive them, a person can be insured, just like not one police vehicle is insured. The driver is covered. @rupertbollywood1190
Rebuilt a litre plus bike years back. Was on M25 filtering a bit quick and all of a sudden car went passed me and pulled infront of me at speed with sign in back window saying follow me. I looked in my mirror and thought must mean car behind me as police car indicated to leave at junction just ahead. So carried on riding very progressively using trucks and large vehicles to hide number plate at gantries from cameras as you do and filtering. Weeks latter MOT and my well known over decades mechanic tells me my number plate is wrong doesn't match the computer records. Yep slight fuck up with the stick on numbers on new plate. Pealled two numbers off and swapped around and all ok. Then the penny dropped and realised that they did mean me but would never find me. Result.

I got 12 months last December😂😂 I've checked the online database and it is showing as uninsured so they were legit. all very strange. I'm giving my insurance company a call on Monday 1st thing
Both cars being traffic cars would have ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition). Vehicles with no insurance (when systems are working properly...) will automatically ping up on an ANPR system such as Cleartone with a traffic car. I'd imagine the moment you passed infront of the two vehicles the BMW's front ANPR camera would have flagged up the marker. At the light they'd have had enough time to ask their control room to check both the current and previous VRM to check for insurance policies.
Yes that's very good information and very likely. When editing the video, At the 1st set of lights I could see the unmarked car edging forward most likely toget a better look at my reg
@@RTPOV Probably! Usually the front ANPR cameras are quite a zoomed image so I imagine it’d be the marked car which caught you - if either. Or there’s every potential that they have conducted a PNC check on your bike when they’ve noticed you, purely to ensure it’s not got intelligence, stolen, involved in incidents etc.. Then realised it’s showing as not holding insurance and subsequently stopped you.
Yes also likely. I find it strange I've never been flagged before for this as I've passed and been directly Infront of many police cars over the past year
@@RTPOV Sometimes it’s a spontaneous error where the information can’t be fetched within the system. Other times vehicles don’t have ANPR or the officer isn’t monitoring it. It links in with the phones now and often the vehicles themselves don’t have a system which will flag up a warning marker.

YOU GOT TO CHECK THE MOTOR INSURANCE DATA BASE ASK MID , IF YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY IS SLOW TO PUT IT ON THEN YOU WILL GET PULLED
Nice to see a normal, professional and friendly encounter with the police.
And hats off to you my friend for your honesty.
Thanks 🙏
There's literally a van next to that police car with a headlight out that went happily on its way.
Good spot! I didn't notice that. I think maybe by that time they were already alerted to my reg and running checks etc
They can't catch everything and someone with no insurance is more of an issue than a blown bulb.
@@malcellison8831people seem to forget this, it’s like when you go fishing you get one on the line and then spot another one you don’t cut the line you stick with the fish you already have
I noticed that as well
Smallest violation in the traffic act there is, police tend to not enforce it. Never seen anyone get pulled for it despite how many marked/unmarked cars ive seen on patrol. Bigger violations are enforced.
With the amount of bike thefts, is reassuring to know that the cops are randomly checking things. A small inconvenience and nice guys, so I wouldn’t have a problem with that 😀
Yes it was all good and reassuring tbh.
Until they find something silly on you. Then you get arrested then life gets turned upside down...
When police stop you they are intent on funding something wrong to have a conviction..
With the amount of bike thefts you'd think the police would do more about the thieves. Not pulling the legal guys over in order to go fine fishing.
More click bait 🤡
Police work for money not us, they need to earn if they can they will
Completely right about the filtering action. Always be ahead of the trafic.😊
Decent Officers there. Doing their job in a professional manner. Nice upload.
But the car behind had no headlight 😂 classic
Good spot! I didn't notice that!
Well done.
Thanks! Yes all round a good experience with them here. Do u ride yourself?
I know that road well!! I'm going on a bike safe course next week with the police, and I'm looking forward to the experience and learning from a pro!
@RTPOV and you will be shocked how the road down the country lanes then when your on your own they will stop you for riding a bit fast. Stupid😂😂
Did you see Ken Dodd and the Diddy Men……or are you too young to know wtf I’m on about?😂

It's all about attitude. You're decent, they're decent, job's done.

Well done for showing the Police just doing their job, If you wasn't insured and had an accident it could cause a world of pain for others to deal with.
Nice to watch a positive police/biker vid for once, there are some coppers that are decent out there.
Thanks! A lot of people with mixed opinions on this, but I genuinely didn't have a problem with the stop and thought they were sound.

Yeah, I'll second that. I'll never forget when I changed to yellow helmet from black, it was so tangible that I was more visible to drivers.

Love a blackbird! Thanks for sharing that story! You still riding?
Its all about having a good attitude and being up front and honest, it worked for me when i got pulled up for speeding.
I wasn't. :)
Didn't even see them, till they moved next to me, before turning off.
So they were right on your rear, braked and moved next to you at the same time?
How does that work?
I’ve told my teenage son if you get stopped by the police just be polite and friendly and they will be the same with you rather than jumping into plastic gangster mode
That's good advice!
That’s not the case at all, talking from experience.
more than likely the unmarked Volvo being a Roads Policing Unit will have an ANPR camera, so it would ping up automatically.
Probably caused chaos for the cars behind.
wow, bet that was scary! Ive had an entire sheet of thin plywood be kicked up by a car going over it and hit me dead on.! 😱

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! What bikes did you use to have?
@@audify3833
It was about 5 or 6 years ago, maybe it's changed since but I definitely got one then.
Lucky it weren't the MET police. !!

I always take a picture of my insurance certificate on my phone to show them should i ever get pulled.
Why the a picture? Most companies now just send a PDF document by email
I think the problem with that is picture isn't current. You could have canceled your insurance since talking out the policy

I'm on a Bikesafe course this week and am gonna get all this cleared up! 🏍️💪
Pretty sure when I did some advanced riding with the police class 1 riders. We were told all filtering is allowed. And very much encouraged.
I know my memories not the best but....
@loonaticsrunningtheassylum haha.. thanks for sharing.. I'm doing the Bikesafe course this weekend and will be sharing everything here 👍
It is completely allowed and encouraged to filter.

@pgVeritas thanks ! Just got back from it ! Was really good! 💯😊
Where’s the wheelie at the end ,be a god man.
Haha! Comment of that day! Thanks ! Made me laugh 🤣
Thanks so much for sharing. Didn't know about that one. Looks pretty cool! Do you just put it on over your leather/textile etc?
What helmet cam you using mate thats really good night time quality video
DJI action 4
@RTPOV cheers thanks for letting me know, do they sell there own helmet mount for it?
yes, but I got a chin mount from another company. think called.. 'chinmounts'
Why are you so happy and cheerful? Its making me too happy and I'm forgetting about brexit 😅
🤣🤣🤣 comment of the day! That's getting pinned...
@@RTPOV you've got yourself a new sub ;)
@@mistahugespliff1265 Welcome onboard!
From there, they probably had a chat on the radio with a "if either of us get a chance, lets have a chat with him."
The route you were going, I'd wager that they weren't working tactically together, they were probably both headed back to the station and just happened to meet up (and I don't mean the main station car park, I think that unmarked volvo is based at the tunnel - or at least seems to park a lot at the lil "kiosk" as you head down into Kingsway)
Haha, what a great story! Thanks for sharing!
fair and decent coppers, a rarity these days
I'm of the view that they have a job to do and I'm fully legal with nothing to hide so I have no issues with them stopping to check that.
If I'm breaking any laws then it's my own fault if I'm in trouble.
They harass bikers. I know. And talk down to anyone who they judge as weak. fe.
Can I ask what bulbs you are running please? I have a k1300s too and my lights at night are nowhere near as crisp and bright as yours.
Thanks
Will get the link for u when I get to my computer in the morning.. They are way better than stock. Literally like night and day difference
@@RTPOV Thank you. Much appreciated. 👍
@@TheSd1cko Here it is ( order the H7)- amzn.to/3AuOB6A
Ive had them on for 2 months. been great. No issues with LAMPF sensor and really easy to fit.
@RTPOV that's brilliant, thank you. I've ordered them 👍
Same happened top me: Cop asked me to jump into the van, which I did. Turns out one of the numerals on my insurance was the wrong away around . He got that sorted for me whist we waited. He told me that he was a biker; we talked about bikes. His final tip for me: take a look at my speedometer before passing a van with POLICE written on the side of it 😉
Its so easy especially around town to break 30. couple of short blips and your there
@@RTPOV I’m pretty hot on 20, 30, 40 … National I occasionally have a lapse of concentration
You have to be!
No such thing as a super nice copper, they are not your friend.
Why ask where he was going? That’s none of their business.
I think I will start wearing a hi viz vest now 👍
I try and make room for bikes but i often see other drivers trying to close filter gaps which is not nice
On behalf of the entire biking community THAN KYOU! and yes drivers often close the gap on us. But in fairness, i think more drivers give us room in general. Well they do around here, it might be different in other parts.
Its a big city and a lot going on , sometimes they cannot see the wood for the trees .
Hey can I use this footage on my social platforms, ill fully credit you, let me know thanks!
Hey! Yes no problem.. so long as it's done in a positive light.and there's a link to the original video 👊
Nice to see you start the vid in the best part of the city. The south end🙌 ifykyk
Lived round there for over 20 years! ❤️
@RTPOV what an absolute sweet spot. The south end is a hidden gem🤫😂
It's funny how having a decent attitude towards the police never leads to a confrontation.
Always carry your papers on your phone.
Yes good shout. Although I think he would want to see the online version as it could have been canceled since receiving the papers.
@@evelghostrider Good thinking.
Result.
@@gazman3568 excellent story, hope you had lots of high speed fun before
Haha that sounds like a.proper mad story,! Thanks for sharing! Can't imagine rebuilding a bike like that. Well above my skill level. Good on you! 💯 What u riding now?
@@RTPOV Old git now. Many decades as hooligan biker Tenere T7 remapped high flow air filter and lid de snorkel plus decat pipe. Had to re gear sprockets as too low with extra go with the removal of EU bollocks.added one on front lost two on back. Now goes like it should have done.
@@jonathantatler Are you old enough to recall the days when rider policies was the norm. Your insured not bike. So loads of motorcycles in shed and although you had registration docs none updated to your address. No speed cameras and police cars that maxed out at about 120. Yep we had the best of being bikers.
@@gazman3568 the test was the best! 😀
Being in Liverpool they probably thought it was someone else's 😂
They knew you were insured, just wanted an excuse to pull you or see if you'd run to find out if there's anything untoward. You've taken it well but this would annoy some
Why would they lie when they do not actually need an 'excuse' or reason to pull you over, they have S163 of the road traffic act for that!!
This has happened to me, had to call up the insurance company to confirm that I was.
Lol that happened to me as well.. i started doubting if i renewed it and freaked out a bit, but it turned out renewal was the night before and their system hadn't updated
They've all got inbuilt ampr, it'll beep red if anything is wrong. I run an 'illegally spaced' plate on my car, and afaik, it'll say error, and they have to manually input my plate to check my details 😂
Haha... I thought so too, but why have I only just been flagged? Been past loads of cop cars?
@@RTPOV Good question, but you said you have 12 months, so have you just renewed your policy? But the more probable answer is, they knew your bike was legit and needed a reason to pull you, to see if you've ride off. They aren't exactly the most trust worthy bunch.
Amazing info thanks! How do you have so much inside knowledge? Are you on the force?
