It should be a criminal offence to block motorcycles from filtering, these same people would never dare do this to a police bike. It should be a rule in the highway code to shift over if possible and safe to do so to allow motorcycles to filter safely and effectively.

I hate being stopped at the front of those particular traffic lights because they’re situated on a sudden bend at the end of a completely straight stretch of 50 mph (I think) so I always hang back a little to make sure I’m visible to anybody flying up behind.

Yee, it's annoying, but what's more annoying is when a biker is pushing thow and nilly takes your mirror off when you are stationery. Because you no thay are going to cry there the victim even thow there the moron.

It's depressing how little is done about people using their phones when behind the wheel given that there are numerous studies from around the world which show that using your phone whilst driving is actually far more likely to result in you being involved in an accident than driving drunk (due to the simple fact that, even though their vision and reflexes are impaired, drunk drivers are actually looking at the road ahead and not their phone screen and so can see hazards _before_ they've ploughed into them).

I would say be careful around trucks as they are alot bigger than a car and have alot of blind spots they will run u over quicker than they can say "was that a bike"

I've been riding for 30 years, and I have never been stopped for filtering. Finding that gap and judging the lights changing by the time you reach the front is an awesome feeling. Knowing when not to filter is just as useful.

Filtering is the definition of aggressive driving though, as you're taking extra risks just to save a few seconds of time.

sometimes they do make things up for a stop when they're bored. I once got pulled because there was apparently people using cloned plates - even though I was 1 street away from my car's registered address. hmmmmm... plus I was reassured this wouldn't happen again which confused me if, as they say, I'm flagged as a "cloned plate".

I was getting onto the ferry from Birkenhead and one of the police alerted me that my insurance was due to start the day after. I'd just bought the car earlier that day and obviously the insurance company messed up the start date. He just said it was ok because in another 1.5 hrs I'd be insured anyway, smiled and waved me on, so I agree about the Mersey police being reasonable guys.
