WanderGlobe I had a friend in college who had gone to Catholic school clear up through high school! Sadly there aren’t phone booths anymore, because her punch line for all those years of Catholic school was that “To this day, she can’t go into a phone booth without having the urge to start each call with ‘Bless me Father, for I have sinned!’”

Kathleen Freeman was such a perfect fit for this role, and Dan Ackroyd loved her performance so much he later cast her in the big screen version of Dragnet he made with Tom Hanks. She is the foul-mouthed neighbor he had to get a statement from and she was equally as effective as a scene-stealing star in that role.

In the TV version of this clip, the edited out all the swear words, so the clip made no sense. They told the nun she was "in trouble" and she just starts beating the crap out of them for apparently no reason. An example of where editing for television can just ruin a good story line. I always thought this was really funny. She hits them for saying a swear word, and they swear more when they are hit, so she hits again.

In the theatrical cut, the Penguin says “I’ll be sent to the missions” and Jake immediately responds. In the director’s cut, she adds “Africa, Latin America, Korea.” Quite a few scenes in the director’s cut include additional dialogue. Both cuts are included on the deluxe edition of the DVD. I think the flow of the theatrical cut is much better!

When I first saw this scene in a theater at age 14 I never heard a crowd laugh so hard and so loud. I also saw Caddyshack in a theater and I remember the crowd going wild with laughter. 1973-1988 Definitely was a classic time period for seeing movies in a movie theater. I personally have not stepped foot in a movie theater now for some thirty years. And I can't name a single classic movie I missed during that time. Same for music. Every week for 20 years while growing up in the 70s and 80s I was at the music store buying something or recording off the radio. Now I have not bought a single piece of music or turned on the radio in decades. I also grew up a huge NFL fan. Now I haven't watched a game in 20 years and I could care less. Same for pro wrestling. I grew up on 70s and 80s pro wrestling. Attended dozens of live shows. The first thing my friends and I did when one of us was the first to get his license in 1982 was take a road trip to Atlanta and see a Georgia Championship Wrestling Omni show. Now I haven't watched wrestling in 25 years and whenever I stumble across it on TV I sit there in stunned disbelief. What the hell has happened? I can not believe the disintegration of all forms of entertainment in the last 50 years. Now on Sundays instead of watching the NFL I find myself more entertained watching QVC's In The Kitchen With David. I'm an eyewitness to yesterday's greatness and today's crapola.

Because she's standing on a moving platform that goes all the way back into the room, hidden by the camera and by the desk in the room where she was sitting when they entered.
