This was the first Blues Brothers movie I ever watched. I played the N64 game for it before even seeing the movie and I'm so glad I got to see it. So many good songs in this movie that I had to look up the originals. This was the first song I ever learned by heart because it's so dang catchy!!!
The way he says "Riders" I hope John Belushi and Carrie Fisher are looking upon this with a smile ❤ I feel this song is a fitting tribute to them both even though Carrie passed after this film was made
2023 and it's still my favorite song from it. if nothing else to be able to watch some of the greatest music talent in both movies who are no longer with us and to remember how great they are.
Hello everyone, I'm Brazilian, I live in South America. With all due respect to American country music, in my humble opinion this is the best version of this song. I believe this show will cross generations and will always have new fans. It's special, it's an icon that will last forever.
Man, you got to watch the whole movie again, and again, and again cuz you can't just get over it.. too many wonderful songs. I got my DVD player and the dvd disc still running clean 20 years later.
One of the most recognizable songs ever written. Never fails to send chills down my spine and loved by almost everyone. So many renditions have been done and the graphics in this one, I believe, is what we almost all envision in our minds when we hear it. Good job guys!
I'd like the fact the the announcer said that they Elwood and Mac were driving through the ring of fire, since Johnny Cash sang "The Ring of Fire" and "Ghost Riders in the Sky." Nailed it. 😂😂
Loved this when I saw it as a kid. Think it the stand out piece in the film and what made it worth watching . Though I do like the one when the dude sees the light in the church
An old cow polk went ridin' out one dark and windy day Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw A plowin' through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw Yippee-I-Yay Yippee-I-Yo The Ghost Herd in the Sky Their brands were still on fire and their hoofs were made of steel Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky For he saw the riders comin' hard and he heard their mournful cry Yippee-I-Yay Yippee-I-Yo Ghost Riders in the Sky Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred , their shirts all soaked with sweat Their rindin' hard to catch that herd but they ain't caught 'em yet Cause they got to ride forever in that range up in the sky On horses snortin' fire... as they ride on hear their cry Yippee-I-Yay Yippee-I-Yo Ghost Riders in the Sky As the riders loped on by him, he heard one call his name If you want to save your soul from hell aridin' on our range then cowboy, change your ways today or with us you will ride atryin' to catch the devil's herd across the endless sky' Yippee-I-Yay (Yippee-I-Yay) Yippee-I-Yo (Yippee-I-Yo) Ghost Riders in the Sky
These films are so underrated, I LOVE them both. I know their a bit silly but I love them! The music is awesome and the films are some of my favourite comedies everQ
I have a metal band (currently on hiatus). I saw this movie, and got the idea of doing a heavy metal cover of Ghost Riders in the SKy. I told the rest of the band the lead guitarist immediately agreed, while everyone else (six piece metal band) looked at us funny. Until the drummer said, (accurately, apparently) "Those three haven't seen BLues Brothers."
It pains me that it took more than 20 years to have a high quality rip of this on the internet. My favorite part of all of this is Elwood RC controlling the car. (Me, a 22 year old who watched this movie as a kid and has not changed his opinion) Also as someone who has gone to college to work on cars, the most unrealistic part of this is that the doors spring open when he hits a button on his RC remote.
Clever of Elwood to rig the Bluesmobile with a remote control device just so it could drive itself over to the stage and pick them up. I wonder when Elwood had that installed in the Bluesmobile?
The Blues Brothers Band sure made a storm performing this song, which saved Elwood from getting shot thanks to the lightning bolt that hit the sniper as he was about to shoot Elwood.
Eu assisti a 1* versão dos BLUES BROTHERS, OS IRMÃOS CARA DE PAU. Muito louco o filme. Final de década de 70 e começo dos anos 80. Recomendo. Engraçado pra caramba. Tem na Net. Ou claro tv.
when buster starts playing that harmonica elwood's looking at him with annoyance thinking what the hell's the kid doing? but then just smiles and thinks ah fuck it the kids's got talent
This scene is not from "Blues Brothers" (John Landis, 1980), but from "Blues Brothers 2000" (John Landis, 1998), the sequel still starring Dan Akroyd, but where John Belushi (dead)) was replaced on screen by John Goodman. The title is wrong. Even if both are excellent movies !
I wondered about that. I saw the original in the theater but I haven't ever seen 2000 version. John Goodman did a good job. Funny I saw the Blue Bros on SNL....
O Brother Where Art Thou came out 2 years after this movie, I wonder if the hats and beards worn by the Soggy Bottom Boys were a tip of the hat (and a pull of the fake beard) to this scene.
This was a tribute to Jake who died. He was leading the ghosts riders to the blues mobile and the other ghost didnt like the fact it was painted so they made it rain to wash the paint away a Jake drove the car to the stage to help his brother Elwood escaped. Just a thought
Many decades ago, who would have thought that this song will going to be a theme of one of the most iconic and terrifying anti-hero of Marvel universe. Then at 3:12 Carter Slade appear in the horizon, whilst riding in these endless dark skies.
Funny thing is these guys are a legendary session band, and the key to session work is being adaptable. If these guys can fake their way through a country setlist at Bob's Country Bunker, I'm sure they can fake their way through a bluegrass setlist at a Kentucky state fair.
I have trigeminal neuralgia amd I was watching Suicide Squad 2 and you know in the beginning you hear Johnny Cash Long story short here I am writhing in pain singing along 😅 Could be worse 😉 cheers from France
This whole scene is amazing. Gives me chills every time the ghost riders show up. Best cover ever.
No Johnny Cash is the best version. But this is still great
Check out the Colum McGinnis cover here on UA-cam.

I love this version of the song.
Me too my friend🧐🤙

Carrie Fisher played one of the best ex-girlfriends in movie history

Music sure has got some magic ...
Neither Aykroyd nor Goodman are pro singers, but it's actually the goddam best version of Ghost Riders I'm known to!
You got that right
The talent they had wow and still do.
@@sethmorgan833 yep, Johnny Cash would've been proud
Considering the amount of live gigs the Blues Brothers played and their SNL slot you would consider Dan Aykroyd a professional singer
@@Dibbdroid sure seems like it

5:51 Cab’s scream of “Elwood” always makes me laugh
Freaking awesome! 1 song made the whole show unforgettable, the ghost-rider!
I'd like the fact the the announcer said that they Elwood and Mac were driving through the ring of fire, since Johnny Cash sang "The Ring of Fire" and "Ghost Riders in the Sky." Nailed it. 😂😂
It sounds like the guy was attempting a Vaughn Monroe impression for the song tho, kinda interesting
The Blues Brothers singing a bluegrass cover of a country/western song is as metal as it gets!
Of all the moments of this scene, the radio controlled car is the best
It doesn't matter, this is awesome to hear....and don't forget to sing very loud with them😅😊
Man, I love this movie and they made me discover and love this song!
This is the best scene in the whole movie

The Original Blues Brothers are the true Goat, James was Dan's ultimate partner. there will never be a mor epic team in music
John was actually the OG Blues Brother. I think they approached James Belushi to do it but he ultimately declined the movie.

This was Blues Brothers 2000
An old cow polk went ridin' out one dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
When all at once a mighty herd of red eyed cows he saw
A plowin' through the ragged sky and up the cloudy draw
Yippee-I-Yay
Yippee-I-Yo
The Ghost Herd in the Sky
Their brands were still on fire and their hoofs were made of steel
Their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feel
A bolt of fear went through him as they thundered through the sky
For he saw the riders comin' hard and he heard their mournful cry
Yippee-I-Yay
Yippee-I-Yo
Ghost Riders in the Sky
Their faces gaunt, their eyes were blurred , their shirts all soaked with sweat
Their rindin' hard to catch that herd but they ain't caught 'em yet
Cause they got to ride forever in that range up in the sky
On horses snortin' fire... as they ride on hear their cry
Yippee-I-Yay
Yippee-I-Yo
Ghost Riders in the Sky
As the riders loped on by him, he heard one call his name
If you want to save your soul from hell aridin' on our range
then cowboy, change your ways today or with us you will ride
atryin' to catch the devil's herd across the endless sky'
Yippee-I-Yay (Yippee-I-Yay)
Yippee-I-Yo (Yippee-I-Yo)
Ghost Riders in the Sky
Wow amazing! Now I can sing along 😁☝️❤️🇨🇦

The music is still good :)
I'll made your words mine!
Music alone is most compelling, it has good moments.
Nobody asked for this half baked sequel. Please just stick with the original and do your best to ignore this one.

Tesla before the real Tesla
That was high tech AF back then. Even today that would be expensive and difficult to install. Keyless entry still isn't very popular today.
The wizard did it.
Wonder if it uses Bluestooth ;)
This ISN'T from Blue Brothers; it's Blues Brothers 2000
Yeah
The band is still just called the Blues Brothers though, so it's still correct.
Should've never been made.
Didn't hold up to The Blues Brothers. Don't fix it if it doesn't need to be fixed.
RIP John BELUSHI.
I still think spider baits version is best of them all
what, are you the police?
First time listening and I give two thumbs up. A good cover

You have to hand it to the Blues Brothers Band. For a blues act, they sure have a diverse repertoire.
If you've never stood on a hill on a moonlit night, watching a storm approach, you have no idea what this song is about...
