Nice video man. I've been truck camping since the mid 80's. 2 Things that might help. 1) splash guards will help keep you & your truck clean. 2) If dry camping, park head long into the wind at night. Thanks for the video, drive safe. 🤠

Most of the countries in East Texas are not under a burn ban right now. If you have never been to Tyler State park you need to some times. It's not very big so it can fill up. It has a lake with a walking trail all the way around it with lots of fishing spots. I there for little day trips a lot. Like your channel and keep up the good work and no I don't work for the state park.

I'm so glad I found your channel. Watched 3 videos already and I'm pretty stoked about them so far. That Angler sure put a chunk in the boat! No doubt that helped his bag weight. With all that wind he was mostlikely fishing the bottom water column for deep diving fish hangouts. Gotta live the weeds and weed edges for that! Your fireplace, LOVE THAT! I never seen an armadillo move so fast, learn something new I always thought they were slow
I figured they were slow too!
Those propane fire pits are nice, I use mine all the time, I bought mine years ago because of TX burn bans. I’ve run them off 1lb bottles with an adapter. It works but its not ideal. I bought 3 of those 5lb refillable propane tanks, those are perfect for a night or two of camping and you can buy a tee and also run a camp stove off it. I bought those tanks at Ace Hardwares in TX a lot of them carry them in store. Much easier to lug around then a 20lb tank.
Those are great ideas. I have a ton of the 1lb propane bottles, but figured I’d get about an hour of fire. I also have one of the 5lb tanks I didn’t think about. That should last at least the full night I’d guess.
With the exception of the sour cream, that dinner is right up my ally.

Nice trip Brian! That fire pit looked pretty nice. I tested out my "FireCan" (50 cal ammo box) last weekend and it really didn't seem to generate a lot of heat. So your solution might be a better one. Glad to hear the new bed configuration is working out better for you!

Cool 😎 trip. As a fisherman I would have loved to see you catch that 8 lb on 4 pond test line and that ultra light reel. In the limited amount of space you had. Can be done. But the entertainment value would’ve been awesome. 👍

Do you enjoy that park? I’ve only camped there a few times. When I get my truck set up I was thinking of going there for a few quick weekends just to relax. Just an hour drive west and a nice little get away to be able to actually see the stars and wildlife away from the concrete jungle.
I do enjoy it. You must be around my parts if it’s an hour west of you👍🏻 I find it’s the easiest for me to get to, especially on a week night. Next weekend I will be out at PK with the family, but we will be in my camper I built.
@@BrianWatersOutdoors in the area yea. I’ve seen your camper a couple times along RS. I been traveling doing music for the better part of a decade. I’m just getting to be home finally and looking at this hard and heavy for weekends. PK has some really good spots that are kinda secluded that are free in the off season.

@@BrianWatersOutdoors We got some out here east of Dallas near the Sulphur River. That river goes straight to Fouke Arkansas where the Legend of Boggy Creek was based. I believe some reports of sightings have came from west of FT Worth over the years. You can check on the BFRO website.

From South Africa like your videos... un scripted ? My rig is a Landrover discovery 2002 hse in car camping , no roof top tent ETC.... Stealth and off grid, fully self contained compressor freezer toilet shower tailgate chuckbox. Goes by the name of THEWHERETHEFUCKAREWECAR. Go figure.. My companions are Scruffy & Gooly-gone... 'cause his goodies are gone.. for fishing a fully inflatable class 5 river rapid canoe, with a mod to attach a min Kota 40lb electric trawling motor...gives me 2 alternatives river rapid rafting and fishing... stows Uptop on the roof rack.. just thought to mention that.. don't need a rigid hull and tow etc perhaps an option ? Amazon. Search “go to foam” and pick your size. They have tons, but I still ended up having to trim mine with an electric carving knife.
What are you using for a mattress?
Just 5” upholstery foam I cut to the dimensions I needed.
@@BrianWatersOutdoors thanks, I just used your design but modified it to have a pull out drawer underneath half of it. Do you need an inverter to plug your led,s into that cord stubbed out your truck? Or are they plugged into a battery cell?
Noninverter. My battery unit has DC ports I plug in directly. I did modify the wiring on the lights themselves to terminate to a barrel plug that I then plug into the battery unit.

It can get warm in there for sure here in the south. When the sun goes down and I have a lot of fans going it can get to around 80 degrees.
