Thanks for tuning in to a little bit different format from the “norm” for the channel. It’s almost too hot here down in Texas to really enjoy truck camping, so I took the family out for a few days in our little Jayco trailer. Minus the dang raccoons almost ending our trip early, and the brutal heat, I’d still say it all worked out pretty well.

I love it Brian! I remember when the kids were young and we had times like these, love it buddy. Now I have my alone camping times in the truck tent and at times the ground tent. Getting old but still love camping. Thank you for sharing with us.

Another camping tip we use when there is a burn ban. get you a butane torch and some steal hotdog/marshmallow sticks and then you can do them that way with no issues with the burn ban we went through that in Tn when we had a burn ban and the kids wanted smors my dad showed me this a long time ago
I do have a propane pit I could have brought too, but just didn’t feel like the hassle of packing it. But, good tip. Thanks👍🏻
Another great video. S'more hack if you can't have an open fire...one large tortilla, make one cut from the center to edge. Imagine 4 zones in tortilla. Marshmallow fluff in one "quadrant ", then crushed Graham cracker, then chocolate, and finally peanut butter or Nutella in final spot. Fold over one another. Throw on buttered flattop.
Now that sounds good👍🏻 I’ve made quesadillas like that

😎👍. Many yrs ago my brother and I were camping, and before turning-in for the night we used a decent sized diameter rope to lash the cooler to the seat of the concrete picnic table. Middle of the night we heard the cooler hit the ground. A raccoon had chewed through the rope, pushed/knocked the cooler to the ground, and stole our eggs.
These days I pre-scramble the eggs, and put them in a sturdy 1qt empty plastic milk bottle that has a tight lid. Takes-up less room in the 12v fridge, and you can pour-out what you need when cooking. One can easily get a dz eggs (more if needed) in the qt bottle using that method.
Well, that’s disappointing. I bought some “heavy duty” cam buckle straps to tie around the cooler in our next trip. Sounds like if they are that curious to get into the cooler they will just eat right through those
@@BrianWatersOutdoors Yep, they're pretty crafty, and determined. I now use one of those lockable vinyl-coated security cables that are available for securing bicycles/gear boxes/etc. The one I use is around 10' long as I recall, and I secure the fridge to the tire on my square drop camper. Raccoon is gonna have to bring tools next time. :)

i worked at a place called sagebrush steakhouse and that my good sir is what we called a Rodeo chicken it normally comes with peppers, onions ,bacon , and Swiss cheese but i have made it alot of diffrent ways

I love how you used the bodega cooler/fridge. I noticed you usually use the other fridges in your videos and was curious why (size/load capacity?) I was very happy with mine on the 4th of July bbq. We used it as a freezer and loaded it up with ice cream and kept it outside (FL weather) in the shade. It worked great!
I mainly use Bodega. I think they are some of the best for the price. We used this one because it was the largest one we had, and we needed a lot of storage for 4 days worth of food. Plus had to feed the raccoons also😂👍🏻

Brian, you may have to replace your fridges "Trermamister" about $15.00 and you can replace it no problem. It controls your Temp. I replaced mine if I can do it anybody can. It clips onto your refer fins and easy wiring. Fun video thanks for sharing. Jake McClellan The Oregon Boy 👦
So, I looked for that on this trip. I did t see anything that looks like it clamped onto anything inside. Who knows anymore. It would be “cold” in the morning, but obviously had a hard time maintaining the temp during the day. Even with the awning open and shade on the fridge side of the RV.

We were at Possum Kingdom. They were doing some major air show moves before I could get the camera. One of the state police guys came down and said they get a lot of F35 traffic from Sheppards AFB from Wichita Falls

Lol. Let’s hope she takes after mom😉😂 I did put some large rocks I found, and my grill on the cooler the next night and they did not get into it. Also pushed the cooler up under my camper too

All I get to see around here are F-15's doing attack runs on my cell towers. I swear yesterday the guy banked 20 just to wave at me and show me how much cooler he was! LOL. I did wave back though.
Man! They were out here doing some major show-boating before I could get my camera setup. Low level passes over the lake, high bank turns, it was awesome. The clip in the video was them leaving.

Hi Brian and Fam, I love those family camping videos!! I just purchased a 2 burner Blackstone grill, WOW what a learning curve !!! How long did it take for your grill to be seasoned???
I actually used my big grill at home to season it. I wiped the cooktop with avocado oil in thin layers and then stuck it in my grill to heat up for about 30 minutes. I’d let it cool and then did that same process about 5 times. Good to go after that.

We’re all dying to know if the shovel was ever found? LOL. Looked like you guys had a great time. When we camp we always put a lashing strap or cam buckle strap around the cooler. Basically set strap on the ground and place cooler on top of it then wrap strap around the top.
Lol. So, yes, the shovel was found….but not by the magnet. Found it the next day when the water was clear. And…I bought some cam buckle straps as soon as we got back for just that reason👍🏻👍🏻

For the Blackstone, coat the chicken in Dukes Mayo. No need for oil - the fat will cook off and the Mayo provides a crust to the chicken so it stays juicy. Also I can see you customizing an RV door so your truck AC unit will fit.:). Great vid.

@@BrianWatersOutdoors about all us normal folks can do to camper frig, that runs on propane, 12volts d/c and 110volts a/c. these frigs are an ammonia refrigeration system. the different voltages and propane are heaters act as a compressor in a regular frig. the old timers I worked with said without the right equipment thats all that can be done. this is a simple answer. you can learn more by googling “Burping” Your Propane Refrigerator. you are probably handy enough to do the simple checks and repairs when the time come down the road
