No lie. Any chance of putting out some plans for the public? Obviously measurements would need to be customized by the user for their individual truck but more detailed plans for the drawers etc would be helpful. :)
I was only thinking if there would be a way to make the water container out of 4 instead of 2 pipes, to be like a Diamond shape, so that the water volume would double for not much more area taken.
Absolutely fantastic build. I’m just floored by the level of detail and functionality you were able to achieve in such a small space. I feel like I’m carrying my whole house now
That is the most well-thought-out truck camping system I have seen (the water tank system, specifically). I don't even own a truck and I want to do that! I do have a minivan, though...
Ok, this is definitely the best build I've ever seen! It's absolutely impressive! Whenever I see a custom build like this being done, I always know it will be well thought out when a woodworker is doing it.
Get the hell out of here. What a seemingly "simple" job so flawlessly well executed. I never ever leave comments, but this video was amazing. Keep it up man, for real, this was awesome and made my day.
best complete fab ive seen in a while, the attention to detail throughout your filming left no stone unturned. An absolute treat, and something to set the standard for truck box buildouts. bravo.

KIller Build... One important tip I learned the hard way. Either remove the fire extinguisher before using the kitchen or permanently relocate to a non-flamably area of the truck. If you ever have a fire situation with the tank, gas-line or stove a fire would prevent access to the FE.
@@scottwpilgrim $2,500 BBQ went up in flames, the LP tank hose ignited (leak?). We mounted our FE next to the BBQ. We had an extra extinguisher in the garage, but the damage was too extensive to save by the time we put out the fire.
When you cut the webbing for the propane I said out loud, "I hope you burn those ends" and 2 seconds later? You burned the ends. Lol. Excellent project my man! Very well done.

I’ve seen quite a few tailgate style kitchens built on pull out slides and yours is by far the best I’ve ever seen. Not only did you manage to think of just about everything you’d ever need in a tailgate kitchen but some of your design features are absolutely brilliant. The collapsible slide out sink, knife drawer with built-in magnetic strip are just so freaking cool and I love the fact that you tried to use every bit of available space so that nothing got wasted. I tip my hat to you sir for engineering an amazing pull out kitchen! Thank you so much for sharing and I look forward to seeing more of your videos! Cheers!
I’m looking into traveling a lot with my new Tacoma, and I was wanting to build something like this, and I’m absolutely blown away by how perfect this setup is. New dream acquired!
Late to the party, but have to echo everyone else's comments. This is an incredible build and the effort put into filming/editing is definitely noticeable. Unreal... such attention to detail.
When I heard the "This is a design as you go- figure out the details later" comment I'm thinking oh boy here we go. Boy was I wrong, you just nailed this build. You have re-coined the phrase "Jack of all trades master of All".
I started watching this for ideas for my work truck, but kept watching past the mechanics for the sheer joy of a well build and presented project! You are truly an artist! Thanks for sharing this!❤
This was by far the most satisfying build video I've ever seen, brilliant ideas, flawless execution and the way everything fits together perfectly made me tingle
3 years after posting and this build is still the best I’ve seen, informative, thoroughly explained with amazing attention to detail. The water storage solution is brilliant, it would never have occurred to use 4” soil stack pipe to store water! Huge thanks! After 3 years, is there anything you would add or change?
As I'm sketching my dream van conversion I've been trying to visualize a small outdoor kitchen that is attached to the van like an outside storage box that would swing around to the passenger side so I could cook while facing and visiting with everyone sitting under an awning on passenger camp side. The details you have included are awesome and give me some great ideas. Thank you!
Look into camping trailers , you can tow it behind your van and many of them come with awnings and full setup kitchens ect. So many kinds though I’m in the search for a camping trailer without a bed area but I guess that’d be a kitchen trailer 🤷🏻♂️

This is the first video of yours that I’ve watched and wow- the camera work, the craftsmanship, the professionalism. Everything about this video was helpful and informative. You are a model UA-camr and wood worker. Bravo.
Thanks to your videos, my boyfriend and his dad were inspired to build drawers for the truck, now we are living in the road and traveling through the states!
O.M.G. 😮😮😮 I would literally pay you for this! This seems more practical than the Decked system that a lot of overlanders use. I love the water system and propane set up you have made. You still have space in the back to place other things in.
Fantastic Build!! I am a Carpenter Contractor and you did a great job. Love the water tank. I used to have the pulled out drawers for my tools in my truck. I am going to use some of your ideas in my kitchen/12volt fridge/tools slide out to install on a trailer. I will be building that as well. Kudos to your skill-set!!!!
I've watch too many of these "ultimate truck bed camping drawers" type videos and this is by far one of the best. Really incredible work. Obviously a lot of forethought went into this for not just your needs, but your family's. Well done!
i'd've put the water tank on the right side to shift the load a little, as you're sitting on the left you'd have "uneven" weight distribution. but this is just my opinion. all in all: GREAT JOB!
Of all of the builds I've watched for making your truck more of a utility vehicle, this has got to be the best one. I fell in love with the kitchen sink, although I camp in a fold down. And I have an outdoor island that has a dish pan for a sink. Adding that rechargeable LED light is something I've been looking for. And using the rubber diamond plate, keeps everything looking very professional. Kudos on a great build.
This is the dream build, thank you for sharing! It’s everything I’ve been trying to piece together in my mind - but for real, and so brilliantly designed. Wow, I’m so excited to incorporate some of these ideas into my camper build!
Wow. This video and build was so well done and explained that I actually believe I could do it myself. And a great example of not needing high end everything to be extremely functional! I especially love the water system. So simple but perfect. Great inspiration, thank you!
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a video longer than 5 minutes long on here. This had me hooked the whole time. Growing up as an avid camper, our family used to laugh that we brought everything AND the kitchen sink. This put our little trailer to shame. Now I want the same for my truck.
This was a pleasure to watch. You did such a great job. Absolutely incredible functionality with a simple looking design. Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
Awesome build. Wasn't expecting to pick up a few tricks like using a router instead of a jigsaw. That is a very nice setup. Well built too. I think you should leave the sink loose so it can be cleaned up if it gets dirty around there. You could pull a little trailer to sleep in without having to put the tent up and toss a canoe on top.
Really nice build. My only concern would be having the fire extinguisher so close to the gas and grill. In the event of a fire you'd have to reach behind the fire to get to the extinguisher.
If the propane tank is on fire I'm not going to fix that with a fire extinguisher! The only reason I have it is for grease fires by the stove and I can get to it just fine for that.

Epic build. I used your basic concept for my build only with a few changes. The problem I'm experiencing and or my main concern at the current phase is; upon testing the blackstone grill(22 inch dual) the plywood on the sides reached 290 degrees F. I could show you the metal frame I built out of 1/16" 3/4" steel. It weighs only about 25-30lbs. About the Weight of one of the tracks 😆 🤣.
its crazy how much those slides weigh. he's probably got 180lbs of slides in there.
Really great how this turned out. Great detail in the narration and construction of this. @10:18 nice drilling to music sync.
I love this setup so much, outstanding work. Hopefully one day I can make a setup half as good as yours!
