Lovely to see Venice. I visited 40 years ago & hope one day to go back. Your shawl is looking so nice. I have no knitting goals this year as I gave myself a challenging time last year. I plan to go with the flow. Thank you 🏴
Thanks, Christine!! Going with the flow sounds great . . . Adding extra stress in our lives is 👎!!
Venice is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing this adventure. I love your Plus shawl, such lovely colors. My big goal this year is knitting a Shetland lace shawl with cobweb weight yarn. This is with the Fiber Chats Shetland Lace KAL. I have started edging and knit only 1 repeat a day. I am allowing a year to complete. I also am doing the Woolly Thistle accessory KAL. Will be making the Le Massif Scarf by Dianna Walla, but will be pulling in my own arrangement of traditional Nordic Motifs. This is a knit in the round tubular construction and I will be using Rauma Strikkegarn in traditional Black and white lice and red accents. Thank you for your podcast, it is always an interesting addition to my day.
I am so glad you enjoyed the episode, Deborah. I admire your goal of the Shetland lace shawl! You will be so proud when it is complete. And the scarf sounds beautiful and fun!
Interesting video, thanks! 2nd goal sounds like you want to learn to alter garments, have you seen "knitting the stash" podcast? She has courses. I have altered garments after reading many books (e. g. knowledgeable knitter by M Radcliffe) and just learn by making mistakes 😜
Thanks, Olive! I have watched Knitting the Stash and I want to check out her courses. I just bought the M Radcliffe book! Looks like there’s lots of good stuff in there. And, yes, mistakes are the best teachers! Or so I keep telling myself.😆

Never was a guage swatcher but realise need to be. If I cant get exact guage, work out if my knitting width changes the size. Does going up or down a size really work? Have become a disillusioned spinner. Cant master consistent guage. Now cant spin thicker yarn. Only thin. Which is apparently a common problem. Knitted hubby a jumper with my handspun. Was a nightmare never found a pattern to closely match the thickness to my uneven handspun. Still have 2kg to knit up of Corriedale. Just ad well I didnt find Lellabella yarn shop in Venice. Not sure if it was there in 2019?
Hi Judith! Oh yes, the Bohus Stickning patterns - they’re terrific! Thanks for reminding me. And Fruity Knitting is the best - I binge watched them through the pandemic and became such a better knitter because of it. Lellabella has apparently been in Venice for decades. It’s tucked away next to a bridge over a small canal - very easy to miss if you’re not looking for it!
@@YarnJourneys hubby would have said thank god I didnt find their shop. I had to mail home yarn @ a cost of €150.
That’s serious!
