Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 чер 2023
- This video is Part 1 of a two episode series about my trip to Japan. I take you with me on a yarn shop crawl to four Tokyo knitting stores where we'll explore all things Japanese yarn and knitting. There's also some footage of my travels around Tokyo. And, as usual, I'll do a Show and Tell about my recent projects.

this is perfect for knitters travelling to Japan - thx ( another Melbourne viewer)
So glad you like it!! Have fun if you’re heading to Japan!
Thank you so much for sharing your trip to Japan! I’m going in a few months and am so inspired! I can’t wait to visit Amimono Spin!! It looks amazing and I love the idea of being able to source yarn that I can’t get here in Melbourne!❤
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you love Amimono Spin. You will have such a good time!! Plus, you won’t have nearly as bad jet lag as I did.
Brilliant episode!! thank you for taking the time to share
Thanks so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. 😀
Thank's for this fantastic episode, great footage of Japan. Looking forward to part 2.😍
Thanks so much! I am so glad you enjoyed the episode.
Another fantastic episode- thank you so much. Really enjoyed your footage of Japan and I am in awe of your spinning! Looking forward to see what you make with it.
Thanks so much for your kind words, Beverly! I am so glad you enjoyed the episode.
Thanks for the great Tokyo yarn crawl. I'll be there in October so this was definitely useful and looking forward to the next episode. Will hit up Amino Spin for sure. For the brioche sweater, I would frog. Oh and love that Horai Scarf, I'm putting that in my queue.
I’m so glad you found the video helpful! And enjoy your trip to Japan - you will love it!
Really nice to watch your journey through Japan. Loved seeing all the lovely yarn shops. Your scarf colours are so pretty. Thanks from Scotland 🏴
I am so glad you enjoyed it, Christine!
I had similar type experiences with the Earth and Air! I learned brioche because I wanted to do it too. I hope you finish - it is worth it in the end.
Ah. Well. Too late. But I’m glad to hear you persevered!
Japan -if you are going to spend your time to make something by hand, use the best materials. Close up of labels, lot of us can read them!
Thanks!🙏
Great episode. I so want to go to Japan. I think you should frog the brioche knit. Life is too short!
Thanks Rosemarie! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for the advice. :)
Just discovered and subscribed to your channel and i love your idea of traveling and discovering yarn culture in different countries ❤ If you ever visit Switzerland, let me know 😊
I am so glad you are enjoying the channel! And I absolutely hope to visit Switzerland. :)
Wow, a Tokyo yarn crawl! What an amazing adventure! I love Noro yarn, and I would have loved to see all the different yarns in the shops. I am sorry you had such a hard time with the neck of your husbands sweater. I have ripped back sticky yarn and it is difficult, especially when going the opposite way from how it was knit. It turned out beautiful in the end. I don't know about the brioche sweater. I do know I had a colorwork sweater I knitted long ago, the second sweater I ever knitted, and I made mistakes that caused it to be mishaped. I kept that sweater in a drawer for years, because of sentimental reasons. Then one day I just decided to rip it all out and re use the wool. It was a great decision, the lovely wool is now in a sweater I actually wear and like. So, if you aren't feeling the love for this brioche sweater, I say rip it out. Are you going to do Tour de Fleece again this year? I look forward to part 2 of the Journey in Japan.
Hi Carin! I’m so glad you enjoyed the episode. And thanks for your thoughts on the brioche sweater. I am indeed doing the Tour de Fleece this year! I’m going to talk more about it in my next episode. I’m still thinking about the fiber I’m going to line up for it and whether I’m going to set a project goal or whether I’ll just make sure to spin every day. Are you doing the Tour de Fleece? What’s your plan?
@@YarnJourneys I haven't spun in many years and gave away all my spinning tools a long time ago. I may get back into it, now that life has slowed down a bit for me, but I have soooo much yarn in my stash I feel I should really concentrate on getting through all that. :)
Makes sense! I laugh at myself for spinning yarn and buying yarn in the same day sometimes. 😂
