TU for a wonderful podcast. Enjoyed it so much. Sorry u came home sick. Take care❤❤❤
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video!
Just what i needed, thank you for this❤
So glad! 🙂
Great video. What a lot of swag you got 🧶Thanks from Scotland 🏴
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Found your podcast looking for VKL posts…so glad I did! Loved hearing your summary…😄. I live near you in Maryland. This was my 3rd VKL in NYC. My first was January 2020 when they estimated their largest crowd…I barely could walk thru the isles on that Saturday. Last year and this year were pretty equal to me with the crowds and vendors…a good bit less than 2020. What I loved about this year were the wider isles for easier accessibility…bravo to VKL for doing that. I also did one of the VIP tickets this year for the first time and was amazed at the 3 swag bags as well. Interestingly, I got some different yarn in my Saturday swag bag than you…🤷🏼♀️. Looking forward to catching up with your episodes and following your travels…😊🧶💗
So glad you enjoyed the video, Pat! Yes, I agree that the wider aisles made the marketplace much easier to get around. I didn’t get that “salmon swimming upstream” feeling trying to make my way as much as last year.
How fun was that! So much stuff! Thanks for showing the fashion show and vendors booths. You made me laugh talking about the dreaded end to your shawl, so many stitches...LOL! Swag bags are fun and tape measuresare essential. I must have one in every room in my house, but still can't always find one.😄
So glad you enjoyed the video, Carin! I think all my tape measures are hanging out with my reading glasses, but never where I am when I need them. 🤷♀️
It was my first knitting fiber event. I thought it was great. Very well run and well executed all around. My similar experience has been with larger quilt festivals. It was refreshing not to be mobbed, while at the same time it felt well attended to me. I felt bad for the vendors in the open lobby area who had poor lighting. It was so much fun seeing what everyone else was wearing!
I’m glad to hear you had a good time, Patty!
i was there in 2013 and 2015 and from the photos it was less people. it was so crowded back then you had to wait to get into the booths. and by the look of these pics it seemed less customers. i didnt get to go this year maybe again next year.
Hmmm. Good to know! 🙏
Thank you so much for such an informative video. The show looks wonderful and I’m planning to visit the 2025 show from Australia with a friend but wondering if you could advise approx how much the VIP package was? Sorry I have toddlers talking over a few parts of the video so may have missed it?
No worries, I didn’t put a dollar amount in the video. Generally the VIP packages are anywhere between $800 and $1300 depending on the number of classes you want to take. They also have early bird specials with discounts for signing up several months ahead- usually announced on August or September. The packages do NOT include hotels. It’s an investment for sure! That said, NYC in January will surely be a break from the hot Australian summer.
Can I bring snacks? Do they check bags?
Yes you can bring snacks.
Yes much less excitement. I saw some empty stalls. I was overall disappointed. Missing some of the traditional vendors. La bien Aimée is wonderful
You’re right - there were some empty stalls. Also, I noticed some yarn brands were there in 2023 and were not in 2024, like Hudson & West as well as Kelbourne Woolens.
