My wife and I drove up from San Antonio to be at the 50th anniversary show. We met a couple that night who had seen the Feb. 3rd, 1959 show at the Surf as teenagers, and had returned all those years later. It was an amazing night in spite of being 6 BELOW zero outside. Many, many stars, as well as Bopper"s son, Ritchie's family, and Buddy's widow, Maria Elana were there. The next morning we went back and I got to stand on the stage in the spot where they had performed 50 years earlier for their final time. It was moving beyond words.
