Jon Bon Jovi is a great humanitarian. Here in Philly he started a very low rent apartment building that also has assistance offices to help people get jobs and such. In his home of New Jersey he has a few restaurants where people can pay what they can or work off their meal in the restaurant. At the beginning of the pandemic he wrote a song about essential workers using lyrics sent in by fans.
Bon Jovi is an American rock band formed in 1983. They had a lot of great songs such as "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "You Give Love A Bad Name", "Bad Medicine", "I'll Be There For You", "Always", "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night", "Who Says You Can't Go Home", "Born To Be My Baby", "Lay Your Hands On Me", "Bed Of Roses" "Something For The Pain", "Lie To Me", "These Days", "Blaze Of Glory" & many more.
One of the greatest bands of all time. So many songs for you to listen to. Also Jon and his wife do alot of charity work. They have the JBJ foundation. You should watch one of their interviews about the work they do.
Bon Jovi is amazing to see live. I've seen them about 10 times in concert. It's an incredible moment when you have 20,000 people singing "Ohhh Oh! Living on a Prayer" at the same time. I was so upset when the pandemic happened as I had tickets to see them twice at two different venues and everything got canceled.
The singer is Jon Bon Jovi and it's his band. Richie Sambora is the lead guitarist that also used a talk box in this video for that sound you couldn't describe. Watch the video again and you will see a tube on Richie's mic stand. A talk box makes interesting sounds with the mouth which is also connected to the guitar.
@ASalvaro I would say most of the younger generations didn't listen to our music so they couldn't know what a talk box is. That is what we are here for, to try to explain it to them so they do know. Hopefully all the reactors will keep listening to our music and hand it down to their children to keep it alive.
It can’t be stated enough what a massive hit this was back in the 80’s. You can really hear Bruce Springsteen’s influence on Jon’s lyrics in this song. This was all over Mtv back then, back when they played music videos.
I know I'll be the millionth person to recommend this song but I'd definitely recommend Wanted Dead or Alive because it's just iconic & such a mood!!! Love Bon Jovi but if I'd had to pick another one to listen to, it would be that song! Blaze of Glory is also phenomenal
Hair band era.mid 1980's New Jersey band"You Give Love a Bad Name" "Wanted Dead or Alive" "Runaway" "Bad Medicine" All good songs to check out It's happy metal.Arena rock
I love that Sam is in her own little world. Lost in the song. There's some songs so massive you have to have heard them, and not know it. Living on a prayer is one of those songs.
I live all the up in the “ sticks” lol, Montana, I was lucky enough to see them twice. Their concerts are beyond EPIC!! They were all great showmen. My favorite Jon Bon Jovi quote of all time. Justin Beiber was showing up to his concerts sometimes hours late. Jon took to social media and said “GET YOUR EFFING ASS TO WORK. These people paid a lot of money to see a show!! So stop your BS and get to work”!! Jon your the greatest my friend!!
Bon Jovi uses a talk box to create that unique sound that was used a lot in the 70's and 80's. A lot of people don't understand what it is, basically the guitar sound is sent through a tube that the singer has in his mouth, and he articulates the sound using his mouth with either word shaping or just bends the sound, the mic picks it up and that's what creates that great sound.
Yes Jon Bon Jovi is still very popular. My daughter was in the 11th grade in 1990 when she went to her first concert of his. She has been to I don't know how many more. She will be 50 this Friday. Her favorite band! Mine too and I'm 71! Loved watching you two enjoy it so much!
I was so excited I found my Ticket stub to the concert back in the 80’s

Funny to see you both singing along. Lol. Fun fact about Bon Jovi: In 1984 (1 year after they started) they opened up for KISS in Stockholm when I attended the KISS concert. When they entered the stage they all had booze (Jack Daniels and beer) the drank and showed off. When KISS entered the stage Gene and Paul of KISS opened one bottle of sparkling water each, just to prove the point that You don't have to be dru K to perform. Funny memory. 😂😅😊
So I was on an absolute full bus in Ocean City, Maryland after the club called secrets closed, and I started singing this song on the bus, and my cousin put his head in his hands because he thought I was about to embarrass myself, but the next thing you know, every single person on the bus was singing along. It was pretty awesome.
When we were kids back then we’d sub our friends names in for tommy and Gina. Lol. We were goofs! I remember waiting all day listening to rock radio for this song on a sat or Sunday with my finger on the record button on my little boombox so I could hear it again and again. This. Motley Crue poison and Def Leppard were my faves back then.
remember bon jovi when they started my eldest son loved and played this non stop in his bedroom and other songs every day i was forever shouting upstairs turn it down lol but ave to be honest i actually loved there music too ave several there cd,s my lads laughs at me now but yea brilliant group
Hell yeah, I saw The Slippery when Wet concert at Irvine Meadows outdoor theater. Jon Bon Jovi flew right in front of us in the cheap seats and my 13 year old daughter was in love..
The Kings of arena rock back in the 80-s. I saw Bon Jovi in 1984 opening up for Kiss in Stockholm and 2 years later when they were headlining in support of their Slippery when wet album, opening for Bon Jovi in 1986 was Queensryche :)
I live in New Jersey and have never seen Bon Jovi live. He actually lives about 5 miles or so from where I live, and have been past his riverfront mansion a number of times. Thar said, he played at a number of clubs in the Jersey Shore area over the years, concerts at Giants stadium as well. At that time I spent time at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park watching Springsteen or Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
I was stationed at Seneca Army Depot in New York when I went to my first concert. It was Bon Jovi opening for the Scorpions in Rochester, NY. in June 1984 just a few months after Bon Jovi had released their debut album. It was a great concert!
Wanted dead or alive- Bon Jovi best song by far, hell it's one of the best all time rock songs. I recommend the live in Moscow version, the guitar is amazing
Jon Bon Jovi's band and Bruce Springsteen's are emblematic of New Jersey. Two rock bands from the state that made it big and have stood the test of time.
And the award for best female lip sync'r goes to...Sam! Lol 😃👩🎤🏆 Great reaction today guys. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Bon Jovi. My two favorite songs from him/them are; "Bed Of Roses" and "I'll be there for you". 🤘😎
I saw them in Munich almost exactly 4 years ago. Was amazing, even though Jon does have problems with his voice nowadays. But the whole atmosphere was awesome (also awesome crowd). Will never forget it. It was my first stadium concert. :D
Love how your wife is all into this. Every time I hear this reminds me of my my moms story when they attended a Bon Jovi Cincert in San Antonio, Texas. A man walked up to her demanding her tickets at gun point, security close by but didn't do anything, stepdad comes and chases the would be thief off. They got escorted to front row seats by security.
Good reaction guys. A few things to know about this song: Tommy and Gina are 2 characters created for this song by Bon Jovi. These characters come back in the songs "Born To Be My Baby," "It's My Life" and one more song. Jon Bon Jovi is the leader of this band. Also, Jon Bon Jovi had a few solo albums, the "Young Guns II" Soundtrack being his most popular solo album. And the most popular track for the album is "Blaze Of Glory" The instrument Richie Sambora uses to create those special sounds is a talkbox, a instrument that hadn't been used for ages since the Bon Jovi band brought it back. This is the first reaction video I watch from you guys. I have so many requests for you. I apologize in advance if I make requests for videos you already reacted to. My first request will be for the song "Always" from the concert at Wembley Stadium in 1995. Thank you so much. Keep on rockin'' in the free world my friends. You can't kill rock n' roll. It's here to stay.
Bon Jovi is great band with a lot of great songs. The lead singer Jon Bon Jovi. So they named the group after him. Some of their other songs you need to check out is " You give love a bad name", "Runaway" , " Some day I'll be Saturday night", " Blaze of glory" , " I'll be there for you", "Bed of roses", " Always" , "Dry country", "Bad medicine", "Keep the faith" , " It's my life" , " Lay your hands on me"
Bon Jovi Have Many Classic Songs - Bad Medicine, Lay Your Hands On Me, You Give Love a Bad Name, Keep The Faith, Bed Of Roses, I'll Be There For You, Born To Be My Baby Etc! The List Goes On.
The album Slippery When Wet that this came from was released when I was in middle school. It is one of the largest selling albums of all time, selling over 28 million albums. Pick any song from it and you've got winner
Jon Bon Jovi is the lead singer. His birthname is John Francis Bongiovi, Jr. His great uncle was Frank (Francis) Sinatra. My favorite song of theirs is You Give Love a Bad Name.
I grew up in the 70's and 80's. One thing I notice is when you watch Bon Jovi - the light heartedness in their mannerisms, theatrics, and how they carry themselves which is to say not seriously. That type of thing died in 1999 after Columbine. That impacted music as well as vast other areas of life. But music specifically would never be the same since the world became a lot more serious. I truly miss the 80's, I watched the first moon walk by MJ, I watched the first video on MTV, and the stardom of Guns N Roses (greatest album of rock history), and can tell you no one who did not live in the era knows how great it was.
Good ol 1986. Graduation year. Good times. Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Beastie Boys debut, The Eurythmics, ELO, Janet Jackson, Billy Idol, Genesis, Run-DMC, Metallica, and more.
1989 mtv music awards Jon and guitarist and backing vocals Richie Sambora performed Part of Living on a Prayer and Dead or Alive acoustically. Great performance 😊 really showcases both voices especially in my opinion Richie Sambora.
I was in 7th grade when this came out and all the girls in my school went nuts for Bon Jovi. This was an image that was hard to compete with at age 13.
There is a great rock hard rock and metal scene out of Japan the last decade. My favorite is a rock/hardrock group called Band Maid. Five phenomenally talented beautiful incredible musicians. But being you just reacted to a Bon Jovi song here. I'm going to recommend to you guys this Japanese five-piece all female group called Nemophilia. They are mostly a metal band. But they have done covers of classic rock songs in the past. Here's a few I would suggest. We will start with a bon Jovi song, Bad Name. Although I am not a fan of the rock group Kiss. They do a great version in studio with makeup. To the kiss classic song, Detroit Rock City. Then check out their amazing version of the journey classic, from the 1980s called Separate Ways. They do their best to reenact the classic video from that era and group. And finally a great song by them. Which is a cover of a Japanese band's song. The name of the song is called One Night Carnival. I'm telling you guys you will love all for these songs. Take care and be well.
In Australia they released You give love a bad name. Now, I figured that as a perfect song and predicted they would be a one hit wonder. Just like most 80s songs. I've never been so happy to be wrong!! They just kept on backing it up with hit after hit. Best band ever.
This is the rock of my 20’s. Good times! The Bon Jovi sound is credited to Jon and guitarist Richie Sambora. Please react to: Dead or Alive and Blaze of Glory … for amazing vocals!
It took me almost 20 years to really start appreciating The '80s Rock growing up listening to rock and roll music between 65 and 78 this was a huge step sideways that I wasn't ready for my old age of appreciated a lot more the pop that was born out of the seventies rock but even in the 80s it was always a little light for me John Cougar Mellencamp Dire Straits and metal was really coming into its own but because of this pop music I learned to enjoy Outlaw country came a great fan of David Allan Coe Hank Williams Jr Willie Nelson Johnny Cash Waylon Jennings and the outlaw Folk rock like John Prine Steve Earle Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt was awesome but I wonder Bon Jovi is fun sung a lot of hits
I always group this song. Doxies Midnight Runners 'Come On Eileen' And one youve reacted to. 'Paradise City' together as the fun vintage songs that everybody knows and sings. And of course, I do that because of a single FANTASTIC night. Ive had a lot of fun.....but that night is among the best. 21st birthday in New Orleans
They also have the song from the Deadliest Catch..A Steel Horse I Ride,,,,,I think Jon is about 60 ish and does alot for the homeless he has various kitchens in New York where your are welcome to go in and get a meal and pay what you can or eat even if you cannot afford to pay.
This is the kind of song that gets played in grocery stores. Just there, faintly, in the background, where the chorus can jump out at you. Plus I think this song was in Guitar Hero? One of those video games, anyway - my kids were playing it and I was surprised to recognize the song :) And if you do hear the verses, there's an emotional story that people resonate with - going through hard times with almost nothing except the person you love. That's probably why it's popular at weddings - it's about a young couple sticking together for poorer, hoping to someday get richer :)
The singer's name is actually Jon Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi has some great songs. You guys should check out You Give Love a Bad Name and Lay Your Hands on Me.
I think John Bon Jovi heard the song "Prove it all night" by Bruce Springsteen and thought Hey why don't I base my whole vocal style and all my songwriting on how his voice sounds and how the song sounds...but I am not putting him down! This is definitely a great song!
My wife has told me she's leaving me for a former fisherman called Thomas, because of my Bon Jovi obsession. I asked 'Did Tommy used to work on the docks?'
You're both smashing these reactions guys 😃 ... this was great & fun, Bon Jovi did the soundtrack to the western 'Young Guns II' - the album Blaze of Glory is epic ... I can imagine Sam being first on the dance floor when any DJ played this 😂, when do we get to see Sam with 1980's hair ! 🤔😂
John (Jon) Francis Bonjiovi, Jr. is his full name. The Band is called Bon Jovi. They are indeed a rock band, but more specifically an Anthem Rock band. For me, there is only one other band that beats them as the number one Rock Anthem band and it's Queen. Now if we are talking by country/region then Bon Jovi is my number from America. Put any of their songs on at a sports stadium, even mixed in EDM festivals and the crowd is loudly singing along no matter their age group. Jon and his wife have been doing amazing charity work and business that has given back for decades now. He is considered a national treasure. Bon Jovi has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
If you go down the Bon jovi rabbit hole, it never ends! It's hit after hit after hit!😅 Next song has to be Wanted or You give love a Bad Name!
Jon Bon Jovi is a great humanitarian. Here in Philly he started a very low rent apartment building that also has assistance offices to help people get jobs and such. He is so iconic. Beautiful man with a great voice. U can't go wrong with any of his music. A ton of hits. It's My Life is another great one.

its mind boggling that has to be explained to anybody lol but i guess these days some don't know...thats depressing

That is what we are here for, to try to explain it to them so they do know.

I'm damn sure I'll be blown away by his voice and emotions
Ohhhhh them 80’s‼️ What a cool time to be a young adult!
Just Look at this band - I was 13 - every girl my age LOVED him.
"Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake may be the next popular song from that era you don't know, but probably have heard ;-)

The Bon Jovi video for “Dead or Alive” is an A+. A great chill rock song that stands the test of time.

Good ole boys from New Jersey 🎸🎵🎶
Bon Jovi was the 1st concert I went to. I loved all of the big hair bands. FYI..Jon's dad was a barber and he did his hair 😂
I saw Bon Jovi in concert at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne in 2013, one of the best concerts I have ever been to

Bon Jovi also has some incredible rock ballads. You should definitely listen to "I'll Be There For You," "Always" and "Bed Of Roses."

Pop culture? They are an iconic rock band 🔥
BON JOVI rabbit hole is deep and awesome. ENJOY❣️
I always group this song. Doxies Midnight Runners 'Come On Eileen'
And one youve reacted to. 'Paradise City' together as the fun vintage songs that everybody knows and sings. And of course, I do that because of a single FANTASTIC night. Ive had a lot of fun.....but that night is among the best. 21st birthday in New Orleans
He now has opened (and works i the kitchens of) restaurants where you pay what yu can
We used to change the lyrics of the chorus and sing instead "Ohhh, I've got fluffy hair" 🤣
A lot of Johns music has a theme of "HOPE" in the lyric. No matter how hard things are now we are going to make it- I SWEAR!
that is a mouth harmonica ru from the guitar mic. Peter Frampton does it also. i DO YOU FEEL LIKE I DO
Got to see them live awesome group!
If you want to hear a couple ballads I suggest Always and Bed of Roses. They're beautiful
The singer's name is actually Jon Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi has some great songs. You guys should check out You Give Love a Bad Name and Lay Your Hands on Me.
You give love a bad name
I think John Bon Jovi heard the song "Prove it all night" by Bruce Springsteen and thought Hey why don't I base my whole vocal style and all my songwriting on how his voice sounds and how the song sounds...but I am not putting him down! This is definitely a great song!
Try "Bed of Roses" for another side of them.
Bon jovi. "dry county" live in wembley 1995
Thanks guys!!
My wife has told me she's leaving me for a former fisherman called Thomas, because of my Bon Jovi obsession. I asked 'Did Tommy used to work on the docks?'
"Wanted, Dead or Alive" is brilliant.
😂 Thanks Steve! Maybe the next wedding we attend?! 🤔
LOL I have never considered Bon Jovi as "Pop". It's definitely a rock band.
Need to check out "It's My Life" at the other end of their career. Great video from the 90s!
BIG 80's sound
Bongiovi
@@CrociatoAzzurro I stand corrected. In my mind I see it in the right spelling, but my fingers have a mind of their own sometimes. Lol
"Wanted, Dead or Alive" is maybe their best song.
Yes
