O2 is released. You're testing that the oxygen microphone works through the speaker. In Flight it's the only way you will be able to hear each other unless you put your headphones on over the oxygen mask.

@@JackMillsPilot The simulator has real mask. They aren't setup with 100% o2 like the real ones, more than likely pressurized air.
