Good morning from Hawaii, I appreciate your porsche buiid. I am planning on using a electric ac kit from coldmasterinc on my v8 swapped 87 rx7. I will be doing the same on my build. Looking forward to see the progression of your ac stuff in the near future!
Hiya. Thank you very much. It has been a lot of fun learning this system. I do hope yours works out well. I had a line failure I need to correct before moving forward.
Awesome work! I’m working on a same system for my van. Could you please share what you connected the compressor 4-plug wires to? Red is power, black is ground, not sure about the other two… thank you so much for making these videos. Any help is appreciated
Thank you R D. I thought I said what the green wired went to. but I could have just thought it. was the control wire from my Evaporator in the cabin. You have 4 wires on yours? I only have 3. Power, Ground and Evaporator. What type did you buy? Been fun making them and glad I can least update at I can with my tight work schedule.
@@dr.frahnkensteeen4485 I bought a similar compressor like RD, Is there an internal relay on the compressor? There must be because it doesn't run if we were to direct hook it up to a 12V battery. I currently have the red wire hooked to the OEM wire that would send a signal to engage the clutch (on the belt driven compressor). How would you recommend I get the signal for to trigger the evaporator wire going to the electric AC compressor?
Im looking at installing one of these in a bmw z4 im doing a coyote v8 swap on, as far as wiring the compressor, is it just a power, ground, and a signal wire to switch the compressor on? I seen some advertise different speeds but im not sure how to wire them to operate at the set speeds. awesome job, thanks in advance.
Hiya, There is a bit more involved for wiring. You have Power and ground for the Fan, Power and ground for the main unit direct at battery. Power, Ground and signal from the evaporator and Pressure switch. Most units come with a control board that will change the speed of the compressor from Low, Med to high. My unit only have a Low and High setting since it is a pretty basic unit. Sadly my system has a leak I need to find. lost all my Freon over the past 2 weeks. >_< The Vacuum test checked out. so it is certainly a pressure related leak I will find with a Nitrogen pressure test and soapy water.
Awesome job so far! I'm planning to build a mini electric car and I'm thinking about having an electric ac installed as well. Can you share the link where you bought the parts? It will be very much appreciated, thank you and keep up the awesome job!
Thank you C&C. It has been a bit slow and have had set backs from Leaking lines to wiring faults. This is the Unit is Purchased. www.ebay.com/itm/274865660794 Similar Hose kit. www.ebay.com/itm/232422714134 I highly recommend getting a AC gauge kit and Vacuum pump. will help in servicing. www.ebay.com/itm/191795518886 Hope this helps.
I'm enjoying the videos seeing what it takes to make one of these systems work. Thinking about doing something like this on the classic van of mine.
Thank you. I am happy to hear it! it has been a steep learning curve
Nice work, Looking forward to an update!
I should have an update after the rain stops.
Very interesting!
Thank you ^_^
Good job
Thank you Sir. That is appreciated!

@@dr.frahnkensteeen4485 failure? Like line exploded or damaged?
@@kevinu8919 Looks like my crimp seal failed. I will be pulling the line and remaking it this weekend.

@@CC-hc2gi You are welcome.!
Is it the chinese ac compressor? I've been wanting to install one
As far as I have seen. They are all from China. There is 1 place that is all in the US, but out of stock.
@@dr.frahnkensteeen4485 definitely gonna wait for your updates 🙌
