    My grandma used to put this edging on her pillow cases and cotton dish towels. They were just beautiful with embroidery on them also. I look back and wonder how she found the time to do this along with cleaning the house, doing all the yard work,(she had beautiful flower gardens around her house), she grew a food garden along with multiple fruit trees and canned the food for winter. She made the best raspberry jam also. She was a wonderful grandmother to us. The grand kids got to come and spend the night with her. My children, her great grandchildren got to spend the night with her some of the time. We all agree she told the best stories before we went to sleep. All of them original and off the top of her head as memories of her childhood on a large farm. Great times.❤❤

    I want to use this as a dress skirt. Would it be better to do it flat then connect it or should i do it in a round?

    Excellent video! I'm having trouble with row 2, placing the stitches evenly over the Treble Crochet 5 together area - when I move on to row 3, it never lines up so that I have enough stitches correctly lined up. Does that make sense?

    • @skylark5789
      @skylark5789 Рік тому +2

      yes! same exact thing is happening to me! i wish we could have seen the full second row to make sure which stitches over the 5 are actually single crocheted on top. looks like on one side, you skip a stitch. hard to explain. i've had to rework the row twice now....and i have over 200 stitches...so, that's a lot of time!

    • @skylark5789
      @skylark5789 Рік тому +2

      OK, so it looks like you just SC the space before the five, count and SC over the 5, then SC into the next space. There's a weird stitch you have to be careful not to SC into...that's what's throwing off the count.

      Thank you! 😊 I would have a practise with a small sample swatch - you need to chain in multiples of 24 plus 3 for turning so I would chain 48 plus 3. Remember that in row 2 you need to work into each chain space as well as each stitch along. I’d also make sure you’re working the correct number of repeats for the stitches in between your treble 5 together 😊

    lovely!! just had a question, is there any way to make the very bottom/top of the work flat while still having the rippled design throughout the middle?

    Would 642 yards make this a decent length wrap?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  6 місяців тому

      It depends on the thickness of the yarn and what you consider to be a decent length 😊 As a guide, people often use around 1000 yards of 4ply yarn to make a wrap, but again, it depends on how long and wide you would like it.

    Very pretty. Summer shawl? Just a quick question, do you add 3 per 24? As I noticed you did 3 then 24 and then 24 and another 3? I think this is where I often get confused…. 😅 x

    • @tarahughes6495
      @tarahughes6495 Рік тому +1

      It's multiples of 24 with 3 extra chains on the end only. So 48 + 3 etc. Hope that helps!

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Рік тому +1

      Thank you, yes it would make a lovely summer shawl 😊 You should add a single 3 chains no matter how many sets of 24 you have. For example, if you chained 48 you would still only add 3 at the end. Hope that clears things up 😊

    I am visually impaired so can’t see the video. Would you mind explaining where you place the last single crochet again please as I wasn’t quite sure I thought it was going to go into the turning chain, but then you seem to suggest it went somewhere else thank you. 1:00

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Рік тому

      I’m sorry, I had a slip of the tongue in this video when explaining this. At the end of row two you will have a chain three, and two treble stitches worked together - you should work your final single crochet into the top of the two trebles 😊
