    This is probably one of the easiest zig zag patterns I've seen- I'm a visual learner so being able to see you do it slowly and clearly really helps and also the repetition ❤😊

    I'm fairly new to crochet. I think I've been doing it for about 2 months now. I love your videos. You always explain everything clearly and take your time showing what to do. I'm confused as to why everyone is complaining of the difference in the name of the stitch when you clearly state that in the UK it's a double in the US it's a single and telling you to make two separate videos for the two. Honestly it makes no sense. I'm from the US and have never had any issues with your tutorials. It takes a fairly small amount of common sense to pay attention to what you say and follow along. Either way thank you for such lovely patterns and wonderful tutorials.

    Thank you. I’m going to make a tank top with this stitch in the middle portion and half double crochet on either side. It’s a dupe of a lovely sweater I saw on Pinterest. I came to UA-cam to learn how to do this stitch and your video was clear and concise. Again, my thanks!

      I think she said this pattern is multiples of 25 +5. So 25,50,75,100 etc. Once you choose how big you want it, add 5 more chains. They are added for stitching. I hope that helps. I'm teaching myself how to crochet and I was so confused by the multiples thing at first.

  • @artisan529
    @artisan529 7 років тому +64

    If you crochet tightly (as I do!) it sometimes helps to use a larger hook for the foundation chain, then back to the 5.5 for the body of the afghan.

    Thank you for all your awesome tutorials.
    I use to crochet years ago when I was a stay at home Mom but I haven’t crocheted for a couple decades & now that I’m disabled I’m starting to crochet again & trying to learn new stitches & patterns.
    A friend of mine had yarn from their deceased Mom & I offered to make something for them & I think they would love this pattern.
    I have subscribed to your channel & will share & be back to make more of your beautiful patterns.
    Blessings from Sheila.

      Watch carefully at the 9 minute 25 second mark (9:25) you may actually be starting your first stitch in the second stitch from your turning chain and that will cause you to be off one stitch she points this out at the 9 minute 25 second mark

    It is beautiful and I love her language, but what she is doing is a single crochet...if it were a double crochet, you wrap the yarn over the hook before going into the loop to draw the yarn back onto the hook. It's when you pull the yarn through two loops twice that it is a double crochet.
    She does nail the zigzag pattern, though. Go girl!

      It should have the same amount of stitches each row… if you’re ending up with more then you must have made a little mistake somewhere. If you’re able to, use a stitch marker and pop it into your first and last stitch of the row and that will hopefully really help keeping your edges straight 🥰🧶🌸

    A written instructions sheet would be valuable for beginners. Your tutorial is at times hard to follow with a complex pattern such as this. Thanks.

      I just wrote it down as the tutor was instructing the pattern , and I got it first time.

    I love your teaching. It’s beautiful. I seen a dress with what seams to be one chevron point on front and back with a netting stitch. will it be possible for you to do a video on that particular pattern. I seen it in Pinterest.

    where can I get a hook like yours? It is short and fat, love the way the stitches seem to be more uniform.
