You are amazing ! I am a visual learner and have been struggling with written patterns for years. Watching your videos has launched a whole new world for me. I feel so empowered to take on all sorts of projects and learn all sorts of new stitches. You are such a good teacher. Things that were never clear to me before are now crystal clear. I just retired two months ago and my fourth grandbaby is due in a few weeks. What perfect timing for me to really believe I am now a good crocheter with endless projects ahead of me. I just finished a corner to corner blanket for the new baby and will start a big girl quilt for the one year old using the camel stitch Thank you!.

I agree with others that I learn better visually. You spoken instructions and the great film and editing certainly bring it all to life! Thanks so much!

I was looking for a stitch that created a subtle ribbed look for cuffs and collars on jumpers and this is perfect! Thank you, this is super helpful :)

I love this! I made one blanket and ran right out for yarn for another. With 9 grandkids from mid 20’s to 4 year olds, I can keep quite busy with this. (Everyone wants the first one.). I like how you film and instruct! Thank you! I’ll try this one.

Wonderful, the name of the stitch caught my attention, the camel stitch. We own a herd of camels that my father adored until he died. I pray to God for him always in heaven.🌹

That is so sweet. If you are a believer and your dad was a believer, he is In Christ and In you. Because when we hear and believe the True Gospel, we get God living In us! We are Born again, Passed from death to LIFE! Because these flesh bodies go back to the dust, but if we have God In us, He IS LIFE, and so our Spirit Is Alive In Him, and can Never Die.
1Cor 3:16- Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwelleth IN you?
John 4:24- GOD IS A SPIRIT and they that worship Him Must Worship Him In Spirit And In Truth.
1Tim 1:17- Now unto the King Eternal, Immortal, INVISIBLE, the ONLY Wise GOD, be honour and glory for ever and ever, Amen.
      1Tim 2:5- For There is ONE GOD and One Mediator between GOD and men, the Man Christ Jesus;
Col 2:9- For IN Him Dwelleth all the Fullness of the Godhead bodily.
This world ( flesh) is temporal. ( temporary).
Everything we see with our eyes is temporary.
2Cor 4:18- While we look Not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are NOT SEEN: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are NOT SEEN Are ETERNAL.
God who IS a Spirit, was IN Jesus. Jesus died for the sins of the world, ( GOD is a Spirit and Can never die),was buried, and on the third day God Raised him from the dead according to the scriptures.
We Only Need to Believe this Truth, and God Will also Raise up us! He puts His Spirit ( Eternal Life) IN us believers! And we ARE SAVED! WE ARE Passed from Death to LIFE!
It is instantaneous! HE Is IN us, and We IN Him! And so shall we ever be with the Lord! He will Never Leave us or Forsake us! No Works, No Rituals, No Religion!!!
He has ALREADY Forgiven us of Every sin we ever did and Will Do. It is a FREE GIFT. It IS FINISHED.
God Is here Right Now, IN every Believer!!! His Word Is Spirit and It Is LIFE!! Hear the Gospel Word, and Believe, and be SAVED! We believers are already seen in heavenly places!! We just can’t see with our Carnal Eyes! But this world is but a vapor. We Must Be Born Again by the Word of God. I hope that you will Hear and Believe, because He is IN me, and In All Believers! Glory to God!
      ❤️ 🌺 🐑 🌳 ☀️

This video is perfect in explaining this technique, the camera is correctly focused on the stitches and the speed of showing the stitches is excellent so we can see which stitch should we leave or start from. I wonder if you you can have darker background when using light colours and vice versa to be seen easily. Beautiful video! Thank you.

This is so cool. How did we learn before UA-cam? Fast forward from when you created this, and in January 2022 Aunt Bec’s Creations is leading a bunch of us through some of her favorite crochet stitches. She has, of course, discovered Bella Coco as an outstanding teacher, and so here we all are. Thank you for this very clear video.

Hi I just tried this today for my Valentine's blanket it works fast and it's easy. One problem on the beginning end it is curving but the rest is not curving. My tension has been loose and steady
Thank you for sharing this is so easy I love the effect it gives!!!

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  4 роки тому

You’re welcome, I’m glad you like it! 😊 I’m not sure which end you mean but if it’s the bottom where you did your starting chain, it means your chain stitches are too tight - you can solve it by going up a hook size just for the chain stitches. If it’s the sides, you can try adding a border.

I'd learned this stitch in the 1980's---all the Camel crochet stitches, actually---but lost the pattern books I had from back then, and subsequently forgot how to do camel crochet altogether.
Your instructions are so clear and easy to understand, I was able to pick it up again without issues. I've been crocheting for nearly 49 years (will be that in January, 2022), and while I know a great many patterns in my memory, I really enjoy learning, and relearning, various patterns.
Thank you for your clear and excellent video instructions.

I was making a poncho, and I did the first panel with the knit stitch.. Then I realized this looks nicer so i did this instead with the second panel. Realized too late that the camel stitch panel is a lot shorter! Same amount of yarn used, but this makes it tighter i guess, and it makes a difference on a big piece. Hoping blocking will even them out lol

Hi Bella , I was wondering, if you wouldn't get a more streamlined effect, if you instead of the vertical loop instead used the 'first loop' (when looking at the stitch from the top it's the loop at the right side, towards the wrong side) on top of the row?? Because when I look closely at your swatch, every second cable have 3 bars instead of 2.
I have used the back loop effect before, that's why I'm considering this.
I really like your videos, so keep up the good work.
    Sincerely Pia, Denmark

Thank you, I'm glad you like it 😊 You can decrease the camel stitch in the same way as you would a normal half treble crochet, as the stitch is exactly the same, just worked into a different place. You could also practise by making a small swatch first before you start a larger project.

This stitch is beautiful! I don't think I've ever heard of it before. Would this work up well as a scarf, if I make the rows and ridges along the whole length of the scarf, and not side to side? I was wondering if it is very flexible, or a little stiffer due to the half double crochet (US) plus the ridges. Would a double crochet stitch (US) make it more flexible for a scarf? Anyone's helpful reply is welcome. Thank you.

I’m glad you like it 😊 It would make a lovely scarf I think, with the stitch worked lengthways instead of widthways as you describe. I’d recommend making up a small swatch first in your chosen yarn and hook; if it’s a bit stiff you could try going up a hook size as this will give the fabric more drape.

This pattern is nice and easy to work with in the round because you only have to do that first row! It's great for wrist warmers or coozies.

I love the way you do your tutorials, great job as usual. One thing though, trying this stitch make my left hand cramp. :-) Thank you!

Thank you so much for this! I never use camel stage because when u get to the third row and all subsequent odd rows if you’re just doing it in the back loop it doesn’t give you a very pronounced “V”or rib like the first row does. Because the third loop is now in the front. Going into the diagonal loop on the odd Row is very smart. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to do camel stitch to make every row pop. I’ve instead been doing a different stitch where are you do a slip stitch in between each double crochet. But it takes much longer than the camel stitch. I just couldn’t figure out how to work it to pop out on every row!

Awesome. If I need to make it big enough to cover lap and legs for a friend doing chemo how many chains would you start with.

It depends on what yarn and hook you’re using; I would make a small sample swatch (say twenty to thirty chains) that you can measure and use to work out how big you want it. Sending my best wishes for your friend 💕

I have found perfect wool and we need it 100cm width. Silly question cause I just made chains until it measured 100cm so have no idea how many why does one need multiples of 2 and if I don’t what impact would it have. Thanks so much for the guidance 😊
