Frank, great vid, do you know if this will pretty much be the same hook up for a 2017 GMC Acadia?
I don't know since I haven't worked on an Acadia but moat SUVs follow similar ways for bolting on their taillight housings so you can use this video as a guide. If it uses halogen bulbs, it'll also definitely need load resistors to eliminate the hyper blinking.
By putting the load resistor on the rear wiring for the turn indicators, what happens when I change the front turn bulbs to LEDs? Would the rear resistor be enough to prevent the fronts causing the hyper flash??
Completely depends on the car. Some have independent wiring for each turn signal and others share a side. You're going to have to test by putting a load resistor on one side and removing both bulbs to see if you have hyperflash.
Hi Frank. Great vids, ive used your videos to replace my reverse lights and my license plate lights. My question is if i add the residtor which would end up being a modification to the brake light, would that fail inspection?
No sir. I've passed inspection without a problem here in Texas. As long as it works correctly, you should pass inspection.
Awesome thank you. My last question is since the load resistor supposedly gets very hot, have they caused damage when u dropped them in?
@@mannysolis9405 No damage whatsoever. The load resistor is designed to heat up and waste power as heat so that your car's computer thinks a halogen bulb is connected and working since LEDs don't use much power. The resistors I used also have a heatsink around them to help with cooling and increasing the lifespan of the resistor.
Just make sure it'd against thr frame and not touching painted plastic so that it doesn't melt it or discolor it.
The load resistor is a must for the brake lights?
@@ignaciogodinez8217 Yes. Like I stated on the video, if you don't add it, you will get hyperflashing and a bulb out warning because the car will think the bulb is out since LEDs don't use much power.

Marco Valenzuela Your blinkers will flash very fast like when a bulb burns out and it'll be very annoying. Follow my video, it shows how to install the resistors.
