- I will show you how to replace the brake light on your spoiler known as the high mount brake light or third brake light. You will need to remove the inner panel and a handful of screws and take off the whole spoiler.

Great video. I had issues getting the spoiler piece off because my access holes for the push clips weren't the same. I broke a one of those but it wasn't a big deal. Also broke one of the trim clips. I bought the brake light assembly from Amazon because everyone else was out of stock. The windshield washer was a pain to get clipped into the Amazon brake light assembly but I finally got it done. Thanks!!!

Great video, thank you. I am running into some trouble with the bolts. The left one came out, but the middle and right are just spinning the nut inserts that are attached to the rear spoiler. I tried lifting the spoiler up while using a socket to loosen the nut but even with the counter - pressure, they still just spin. any tips on how to get these two nuts out? without removing these, I cannot pop the spoiler's 4 clips off and cannot get it off.
This gave me an idea on how to replace my wife's Kona since there are no videos of how to replace this light for a Hyundai Kona.

I didn't even know that I had to do that , The only problem what i have is that When i press on the rear washer fluid The fluid comes out under the plastic wing and runs down the back windshield.
My advice is take the plastic wing of just like in the video. Then check the hose that connects to the nozzle. If the hose is very easy and loose to remove then buy a new hose and it should be a tight fit and will solve your issue. If the hose is already a tight fit then your nozzle may be clogged. Disconnect the hose and blow out the nozzle with compressed air. And see if that works. Hopefully you find this helpful. Please like and subscribe
@@BillOfAllTrades2016 Yeah that's what i thought , I thought that i could pop out that upper high mount light from the outside with a plastic tool, but i ended up breaking the brake light piece, that's until i saw your video after the fact I have a brand new light now to install.

what i need is the spoiler for a 2006 pontiac torrent. it blew off on the highway
Did you check the scrap yard. They should have some. Process should be similar to this.
what tools did you use? I have a 2013 Chevy equinox Lt
You need a panel popper or flat edge screw driver, 10mm socket and ratchet, needle nose pliers, torx t30 screwdriver and Philips head screwdriver. Each tool is listed in the video as you need them to see what tool goes with which part. Thanks for watching please like and subscribe.

Is this the same for a 2018 or has the setup changed?
2018 is a whole new body style. They are considered 3rd generation equinox. The one in this video is a 2017 which is the last year of the 2nd generation. That being said perhaps you can try this method on your 2018. The way it comes off may be the same even though the body style is different. I’ve just never worked on one myself. I would be interested to hear your findings though.
Bare with me but if you took that spoiler completely off and replaced the brake light with an LED brake light strip from the inside' on your upper rear window that would look awesome in my opinion 😮😏
