- Get started with Logseq, my Daily Workflow
How to start entering data into Logseq and get going quickly, after this you should be able to use the journal, add data and be able to find it back later without having to constantly organize.
I got stuck when I had my initial look at Logseq so this is to help others get a good logseq tutorial in roughly 7 minutes. :)

Thank you. This was ideal and helped me shortcut the trial and error of the best way to organize with this app. It's easy to try to overdo it (e.g., like you said, attempting to add every single person to a meeting)

Interesting. I have a home made system where I keep markdown files for all my meetings, and I create new sections with a date in there anytime there is a new meeting. This is similar, but the inverse of your approach. Not sure if one is necessarily better than the other, but the ability to easily crosslink and query for everything related to a tag is awesome though
Yeah, I'm planning on doing a new video about this after using it for over a year in different companies. It's a bit more refined now.
@@toolsontech looking forward to the new video. i have adopted logseq and the exact process you outline here. still feels a bit weird to not collect all meetings about the same project/topic onto the same page, but it does seem to make sense, because in one meeting you can discuss multiple things or projects (and thus use multiple links or tags as appropriate), but a given meeting is only ever at 1 point in time; so it follows that if we're going to lock ourselves into one thing, and allow flexibility for the other, it makes sense to lock to a date, and allow flexibility for linking with tags and pages. With my approach, a meeting would always be in the same project file, even if we shift topics and start talking about a new topic. So your approach makes sense. Anyway, thanks again and looking forward for any updates :-)

I saw you had created 3 section as your basic structure for you DNP:
- Toughts
- Dayplan
- Notes
I got used to freely jot down my entries in my daily journal without the friction of choosing which section is the right one. Also, there is a bit of friction when writing something comes from a task in your Dayplan section, but It really belongs to the Notes one. Just moving the bullet up and down? Friction, again.
Some tips after your times working on that?

My current setup is simplified a bit. Morning thoughs (start of day), Dayplan (Tasks I want to do, move it to the side with a shift click) and Journal that grows throughout the day. Adding notes, meetings, thoughts and tasks.
I have a filter for all my tasks that i use to fill the dayplan and by adding friction for tasks during the day (ea moving them to my tasklist) i stay on track with what i planned, not get derailed by interruptions.
Got two videos planned where i talk about this. Currently working on Logseq tasks and after my holiday I'm going to revisit my daily workflow with all this fine tuning in the last 6 months.

@@toolsontech Sounds smart and coherent. I like this idea of picking up to/from the side. I still use (probably I'll keep doing it) my todoist. I created a temporary todoist daily workbench where I pull the today's planned main tasks (not the inline ones). I then drag and drop which ones I think they fit for my revisited dayplan and tag them in my backlog (I must confess I take that hashtag idea from you, since I use Agile frameworks long time ago).
Sincerely, I wanted to remove those sections/divisions from my journal.

My current project doesn't allow for Todoist but i still use it extensively for my channel and private work so that will be part of my workflow video. Looking forward to making that one.

As a visual person I think Logseq and Obsidian are both not ideal, very much a mental tool. One of the view reasons I still use Notion when I need to space things out. Though very often it just works better to put it on a whiteboard or a graph in draw.io (that I then paste in Logseq)

@@maeliandrade9919 It works very well when you enjoy free form elements. I always wants things to be exactly aligned and that makes it a bit trickier right now. But in combination with a pen and some drawing it's great.
What theme are you using here for Logseq, btw?
I'm not 100% sure anymore because it's a long time ago I setup the css, but I believe this one github.com/dracula/logseq
I think this seems quite similar to Obsidian; is there some way its different?
It is, even more so when you realize that a lot of people use both apps with the same data structure. For me the main difference would be that because logseq.com is a website that syncs I can use it on multiple devices and in multiple windows. Obsidian however is much more mature at the moment and as a result has more plugins and help available.
Since you're data isn't locked, I don't think you can go wrong with either one as you can always change or add the other at a later time.

@@kurodesuuuu While I mostly use LogSeq I do have plans for a video using both with the same dataset as I could use the benefits of both then.
Isn’t this the same as Roam Research?
It's very similar for sure. Few of the pro's are the local data and price. Roam is much more fine tuned. Keep in mind I haven't used roam in the last 6 months so I might be behind.
I'm still confused about setting up Logseq. I opened both the web app and the desktop app on my Mac, but I keep getting Grant Access messages and two other pop-up messages after I start typing. I also don't see how to get the web app to sync with Desktop app. All the videos jump right about how to use Logseq, but not how to set it up. Also, the program can't be viewed on mobile devices?
That's a super valid point, LogSeq uses a local directory to store it's data and unlinke many webservices that means you have to deal with where to save things and getting it over to other devices like your phone.
I'm going to see if I can make a small video on that specific problem because I can imagine it being very frustrating for first time users.
So the grant access message is because logseq needs access to a local filesystem where it can read/save your files. And a graph is just a folder where all the text files are stored.
@@toolsontech after I wrote the message, I discovered iOS version which was easy to set up a directory in my iCloud. Since I’m just getting started, I’ll try moving the directory on my Mac to the iCloud directory, and I should be good to go. Logseq definitely has a leaning curve, but it looks like it’s worth the time to learn. Thanks for your feedback. And yes a setup video would be useful for some new users.
Oh, and the problem with the Grant Access is that on my Mac it keeps asking me to grant access. I’ll see about starting over with my iCloud directory.

And LogSeq is tricky, but it's improving by leaps and bounds so I'm sure it will be much easier in the future. All still a bit rough.
Missing get started, title is misleading. Can not set it up on the system with this.
Where you expecting the installation / configuration of Logseq or something else? Would like to know so I can take that into account with the updated version I'm planning on .

@@toolsontech i'll get you timestamps. after that particular effect it got better. 0:46 (when you are talking about coffee, but it's used a couple more times...)
@@jearsh @Joshua Toyota You where spot on, I just checked in Davinci Resolve, the SFX track was on 0db instead of the usual -10db. It's way louder then it should be as a result. YT won't allow me to replace this one with a fixed version. I could do a re-render and upload it as an unlisted version if you like.

Thanks, I'll double check the audio on future videos. SFX should add, not distract from the content.
