Thanks a lot to Cara and Ramses for this video. My question is about one of the key aspects of an academic workflow is referencing and bibiliography creation. How do current references in Cara's written paper go from Logseq "link" to better Bibtex reference (I guess manually?) and then actually formatted reference + bibliography (is this also a manual process)? This crucial aspect of the workflow is what proprietary annotation and reference managers like Citavi are so good automating and wasn't explicited here. Curious to know more!
At 11:30 Cara mentions she doesn't use Zotero (or any other citation manager) until the very end of her work, so as to avoid overwhelm

I didnt really understand what a "process" is. Is that just a page where she collects how she wants to do stuff for her future self? Are these processes linked somewhere or is it just a "cheatsheet" for herself? Looking at it again: She has a bunch of other pages (like "log...") where she links to [[process]] with a list of what the process contains. Are these other files just separate pages defining themselves as a process?

Is there an easy way to export from Roam to Logseq?
Yes, you can export your Roam graph in JSON format and then from Logseq you just have to import it: ... > Import > Import JSON from Roam Research
inspiring work flow, thanks for sharing. One big concern that keeps me from using logseq is backup. Curious how you handle it given there is no sync feature? Having my entire project in an icloud folder does not give me enough peace of mind.
We're working hard on an encrypted sync service and real-time collaboration features. This should be available within the next 3 to 6 months. For now, we recommend making regular backups of the folder where your Logseq graph is located.
I know it's probably not super intuitive if you're not accustomed to it but git is really the way to go. I store my graph in Google Drive and github after having some syncing issues and now I'm very confident in my setup.
How do you get the icon/emojis, i love it give such a quality to the information
You can add the icon:: attribute in the first block of a page, followed by the icon you want to use for the page. Alternatively, you can use the Reference Styles plugin that's available in the Logseq marketplace.

This has been super helpful as a young researcher. Thank you Cara!| Quick question. I set up some templates and have something mixed up in one of those. How can I edit a template? Editing the block does not seem to do the trick :-(
You can just edit the template directly. Make sure the parent block has the template:: property followed by the template name; all the blocks that follow (the child blocks) will be part of the template-so make sure you use indentation.
When you run the template again it'll show the updated template. However, it will not change the blocks that you've created by running the template in the past.
This looks like it has lots of useful stuff, but I just can't interpret it. How is that index constructed? What's that hamburger she clicks on to get the outline? How is the PDF linked? It feels like a run through for people who already know 90% of what was covered.
Hello. Good morning. It is possible with Logseq to take handwritten notes from an android tablet and to be able to synchronize and update the notes on my pc. Greetings from Cali, Colombia.
If your tablet has some kind of handwritten-to-text functionality (like the iPad has), that would work. You can also upload photos. However, at the moment there's no built-in functionality to turn handwritten text into typed text. We also don't OCR images to make them searchable (because your notes are only on your system and aren't sent to us).
Using a third-party sync service like Dropbox or Google Drive you can synchronize between phone, tablet, and desktop. We're currently working on our own encrypted sync service.

Idk, but if you use emojis on your notes, you are doing things wrong. That's what I hated of Notion
This is a personal preference and requires a plugin (Reference Styles). Out of the box, Logseq does not have emojis for pages like Notion.
