  • Below are some details of the setup I will be hunting with this year with an injured right shoulder. I had to go as lightweight as possible to be able to retain accuracy and be able to practice. These 40 lb limbs give me 170 fps average with 525 grain arrows.
    17 inch Hoyt Satori riser
    40 lb Uukha Salengha limbs
    400 spine Gold Tip blemished shafts
    5 inch shield cut feathers
    225gr up front on both setups-
    100 gr inserts with 125 cutthroats
    50 gr inserts with 175 gr grizzly stick samarai

    I finally spent the money on a Stop The Drop after using cheaper ones, it’s worth the money. I might have to try the string you mentioned.

    After that first shot my mind immediately went to “just shy of the recliner “
    I need an indoor range 😂

    You sold me on the bow and limbs, I found some used limbs for 200 nocked off, I’m guessing your t-strings are 56” ??? Love your videos very informative!

    I just got a set of Uukha Gobi limbs for my 19” Satori and am extremely happy with them. They are at 41# on my fingers and are faster than my 45# limbs I had on. I went with the shorts and I’m glad I did. The shorts draw cycle is quite diffident from the Gobi longs I had previously.

    Absolutely nice!
    I'm not sure about yours, but mine sometimes has a kick. I run a tie on nock 1/4" lower than my bottom nock. This really helped my flight. Just throwing this out there if you want to try

    That's pretty fast for a 40 lb bow! Looks like a great setup and flat shooting!

    Luv your videos but haven’t seen anything new in quite a while thought. Because of your videos I’ve purchased a satori knockoff until I can find the right deal on a real one. However I feel even though I luv nothing more then a custom wood bow I feel the feel of the weight/grip/versatility of an ILF is gonna be key to me shooting better. I have a basic wooden recurve currently and find it to light even with quiver full of arrows. Besides being able to change the limbs simple and quick to suit your needs is a huge Bennie. We are required to have #35 min in my state and my recurve is currently pulling #47 so #35 would be great for turkey but would like #50+ for moose and u stringing and snapping different limbs on would be great compared to buying new bow!!!

    I have 2 of the Black Hunter bows. That Hoyt looks great to me. I use a glove instead of a tab. Shoot straight, Shoot often. #bowlife. ✌️

    I really like Hoyt Bows but i would not buy Hoyt limbs due to the great big writing down them , i do not want to walk around looking like a advert , i like how Bear is subtle , and people ask that's a nice bow what make is it

    I run a Hoyt Satori 17" with the Uukha Salengas too. It's a sweet setup.
    Also really great for a girls who want the high poundage. Because the limbs are super smooth with almost zero stacking so I can comfortably hold full draw at 43lbs for at least 10 seconds or more.

      I remember you started with the same setup as my other bow also, and now we're shooting the same thing again!

    • @Maddie_Madds
      @Maddie_Madds 11 місяців тому +1

      @hooversoutdoors I did have the Hoyt limbs, however my shot wasn't as smooth because they stacked more, so I switch to the Uukhas, and even though the Uukhas are heavier poundage, the minimal stacking means I can comfortably hold it.
      So a great thing to keep in mind for you if a female asks you about heavy limbs. It's not so much the weight, but rather how much they stack at the back for her.

    All my Gold Tip Traditonals Blemished are made in Mexico .
    Got mine off Ebay , last year for $48.00 a doz. shafts bought 5 doz. of each 500 and 400 spine . I've got 16 different traditional bows . Thats why I bought so many . Your Right on not finding any Blemishes on the shafts .
    Do you still shoot the Fleetwood ILF Hunter wood riser bow . I bought one after watching your video last year. Great riser , I put Bosen longbow limbs on mine and Love shooting it !
    Keep the Great Videos Coming !
    Stay Safe & Healthy !
    God Bless !

    Is there really a difference between the different length risers? (Other than the overall length of course 😂) just getting into recurve archery and I’ve been looking at this particular bow for some time while I’ve been practicing on my PSE Stalker, old bow but it works for now.

    What string material are you using fast flight or dacron? And flemish or endless loop with that limb set up? I reached out to TTT strings and not sure which ones to pick with my gobi limbs

    What is your brace height? I am getting a loud buzzing sound with both of my Satori risers and 4 sets of Uukha limbs. The limbs are very quiet on my DAS and CD archery risers. What I have found is the ILF fitting on the Satori is very short compared to all my other risers and the U groove on the limbs do not go all the way in on the Satori riser and I get buzzing from the springs in the ILF detent on the limbs. Have you seen this with your Satori?

    • @hooversoutdoors
      @hooversoutdoors  11 місяців тому

      I shoot mine at 8 1/4. I did stick some stealth strip material where my limbs make contact with the riser, try some stealth strip or the soft side of velcro and it should help some!

      Thanks, I really like the shape of the Satori riser as it makes a very forgiving bow, just got to get it quiet.@@hooversoutdoors

    Do you think the UUKHA Selengas are worth the money over the stock Satori limbs? I am also considering the Gobi's.

      @hooversoutdoors  10 місяців тому

      Depends on your budget, I think. Personally, I didn't want to pay full price, so I waited to find a 40lb used set. But yes, they are better limbs. I'm using mine to hunt this year.

    Do you still hunt with your black widow or are you using the satori for your main bow?
