- I would highly recommend Hoyt's Satori recurve. I get very consistent groups and arrow speed with this bow. 40lbs is also enough to hunt whitetail deer with. I added some footage of a complete pass through I got this year on a 7 point just to prove it.
In the video I recommened buying a string from TTT strings. Also this bow shoots 170 fps with a 540 grain hunting arrow. enjoy the video. thanks for watching - Спорт

While in College in the mid 70's I sold my beloved 45 lb Bear Grizzly for beer and grocery money. Then in the late 90's I found the same bow mint condition just a few hundred off the same serial number on EBay and got my Grizzly back. Yea! old bows on Ebay can bring pure happiness. I paid top dollar but it was worth 10 times what I paid to have it back.

The Satori riser is cut past centershot. The Shims allow you to adjust the arrow to perfect centershot depending on arrow diameter. A perfect set centershot bow is very forgiving of tuning for a very stiff arrow. Compound archers have known this for a long time. Thats why you can tune a 400 spine arrow and a 40 lb bow. Many bow risers are cut to perfect center, which means the arrow center is half the diameter off centershot. This is fine and shoots dead center with a properly tuned arrow. It just means arrow tuning is more important and narrower in range. You found center shot by by trial. I have never seen a bow that was not perfect if centershot was determined geometrically. I can however think of reasons why that would not happen so trial is best.

Nice man! I started with a samick sage several years ago and shot the snot out of it - and upgraded to a satori in 2019 - I love the bow and took my first deer ever this year with it. I was interested in that quiver until you mentioned the price 😱. 😅
I would just recommend a slide on for sure. This thing is way too expensive and doesn't work well for some bigger broadheads.
I love my Satori's ...have 2 with 19" riser and 45 and 50# das 3k carbon limbs. I sold all of my other recurves.

It just holds your arrow so you can hang your bow when hunting. Your arrow doesn't fall if you bump your bow or it's windy.
Great video…. I see you are shooting standard gold tips, Would that red arrow holder fit a skinny shaft too?

What arrow spine are you using?
Adding or removing material from the side plate of a bow actually does affect spine that's precisely what was showing up when your groups changed from right to left
Closer into the riser will weaken the spine Futher out stiffens

40.00 for the stop the drop is quite pricey, then it’s held on by a sticky mount 🤔. I bought my Satori from Stickbow supplies also.
I haven't had any problems with mine. But , everything ain't for everybody.

I'm still trying to figure out how to consistently aim this recurve. No sights. It seems like a guess. yes Im a beginner.
What is best, tab or glove?
Do you think it's worth the money to use uukha altai limbs or are the Hoyt limbs a premium choice?
I prefer a tab, others prefer a glove, either is fine, it's only to protect your fingers when drawing. I shoot instinctive, meaning I just focus on a small spot on the deer. (I'm talking 100% focus, like nothing else matters) and that's where my arrows go, your brain will automatically aim for you, think throwing a baseball, you don't aim but you can hit where you want. Your brain will calculate your trajectory for you after you've shot enough arrows. That altais are 1000$, I would not spend that much money until you've got your shot completely dailed in, I've shot 40 lb uukha salengas on this riser and got the same speed as my hoyt limbs but they're a little smoother. No experience with the altais.
I've been shooting a Satori for 5 years now it's a 21inch, started with blackmax 2.0 35 # shot them for couple years, then moved up to 40# blackmax 2.0. about a year ago bought samick r3 45# carbon foam limbs (280$ as I write this). I've tried heavy FOC arrows, positive tiller, negative tiller, gloves, tabs, different arrow rest.
After almost 5 years owning this bow the current setup is 1/8 negative tiller three under (started split) with a glove, arrows are black eagle carnivores (tuned) 32inch 400spine 100 grain points. I also use lighted nocks with 3 inch feathers shooting off the shelf. The biggest improvement for me was sanding and shaping the wood grip with a little putty and painted it with rust oleum truck bed coating, not only did that greatly improve accuracy It eliminated the need to use an arm guard. Shooting the bow now feels second nature. Don't be afraid to try different things.
Get a set of das 3k carbons for it 🤙

How many of the shims do you have in your side plate for a good tune? I’m shooting a 6.5 mm carbon legacy and I have all of the shims in there now jw if you have noticed better with less or more. Thanks. I have the same bow as you bought it off your recommendation. Thanks
Two shims on mine, but if I was shooting 6.5mm I would use 3 most likely. If you shoot a group and notice arrows hitting to the left remove a shim and try again. Let me know how it goes !
