Hi my dog has chf and the medication Libeo she is on can cause kidney disease. I've been giving her 2.5ml once a day for the past year and only had a 2week break, she is 5.3Kg(15lb) Can giving it everyday without a break cause health problems?

I have used a couple different liquid brands from Amazon but is there a certain brand that’s best? And yes, can my dog have some from my own milk thistle capsule I take daily?
As long as it's only milk thistle, it should be ok. You would have to adjust the dose accordingly.

For tincture, give a starting dose of 1/4 tsp per 20 lbs of body weight per day, split into 2 to 4 equal doses. If you use powder, give 2-5 mg per 1 lb of body weight, 2 to 3 times per day.

I have my Westie 12 drops but also gave her an alpha lipoic acid capsule. She threw up her meal twice so I’ve stopped. Any suggestions. She’s 12 years old.

What kind of treatment? My 18 pound chihuahua has enlarged liver, not being treated. The vet had her on a pill for pain, pill for coughing, pill for vomiting, pill for seizures!! I’ve taken her off meds and wanting to detox her liver. Vet said nothing about fluid accumulation in abdominal cavity. Although her heart might be enlarged.(fluids?). I think my veterinarian just pushing pills and waiting for her to die.

Can you tell me how much you gave? My chihuahua is 18 pounds, has enlarged liver & has had a few seizures, the last one was 7 minutes long. Keppra was given but she spits it out even hidden in her food. I’ve taken her off all medication 4 and she is doing better, still coughing at times. She’s had all labs & xrays. She’s 12. I bought the powder capsules/ 175mg but don’t know how much she needs. Another channel says tincture, 2 drops twice daily, I’d have to order that one. 😢
