And we’re off.
We started our Scotland tour.
Up to Lancashire - Moss Lane Farm CL for an overnight stop. The drive up was dreadful - heavy rain all the way. But then it cleared up in the afternoon.
Then the next day, across the border to Largs on the Ayrshire coast.
Heavy rain and high winds but what an amazing site at Largs Yacht Haven!
Never been so wet setting up. 💦💦💦💦
Next time it’s a ferry across the Clyde and the weather gets worse!! 💦💦💦💦💦

Well after a dreadfully wet start, we finally hit Summer. Up here on the Isle of Mull!! We’ve had two scorching days up here. Can’t believe our luck!!

Editing on the go but now sitting outside and trying not to annoy fellow campers!! 😃😃
Wind and rain, but some fantastic sites and experiences already! Safe crossings and can’t wait to follow the onward journey! 🏴

13 nights away - 2 nights of rain. Definitely cannot complain about that. This trip just gets better and better. Largs was lovely if extremely wet 😃😃
What’s a bit of wet weather when you’re out and about exploring new places, great facilities on the sites, and what view over the water at Largs, super.

Oh, poor Lapwing, it definitely sounds distressed. Hopefully she can find a safer place to nest. Good idea bringing some books to read while having some downtime. Wow, the disposal/recycling is pretty impressive. Looks like a fun start despite the rain!
It’s been a fun start Donna. But we’re moving all the time at the moment so apologies for not catching up with everything. We finally arrived on the Isle of Mull today and it’s blown us away!

Wow, what a lovely CL Moss Lane Farm is! Will certainly add that to my list of CL to visit if in the area. I have a friend who often goes to Largs, I can now see the appeal. Looking forward to the next one, safe travels.

Great campground; except they don’t have enough trash bins for the number of slips they have. Restaurant sounded great. Of course you can’t get away from the rain can you? But the waterfront looks so nice. Have a fun trip.

We got away from the rain! Today has been a day to remember. A mill pond crossing to the Isle of Mull and it’s blown us away. Warm Sun all day with views back to the mainland and a Sunset which we won’t forget in a hurry.

Nice to leave the rain behind and go into The Plow for a sunny walk and a dam fine meal as well. I used to visit my parents in Scotland once a month and as soon as you crossed the border the traffic became so much quieter and the rain always heavier too. That looked grim when you pitched up mind and despite a canny site and amazing views, I would have hated all that rain. Fingers crossed you are in for better weather ahead, cheers Alan

The Scottish adventure begins! 😊🙌. And what a wet start! 🌧🙈. Let's hope it is getting it all out the way now so you will have brilliant sunshine in the highlands 🤞. We are glad you made it safe and sound, the rain certainly didn't make for the best driving conditions 😮. Ah they are called Lapwings!! We have been seeing a lot of these birds around over crops locally, and we often stand and watch them, Pete has been calling them 'metal detector birds' because of the crazy beeping sounds they make 😂. Wow what a coastline! Your view from Largs boat yard was something else! Very dramatic! 😊👌 ⛵️. Ooh onwards and upwards! Oban next! We are looking forward to that, adore that area of Scotland. Safe onward travels guys, have fun!

Ps Pete says if you get a chance, pop into the Oban whisky distillery, one of the smallest in Scotland, but it packs a punch! The 14 year old is one of Pete's favourite whiskies 🥃

I messed up on our journey and didn’t get time to stop in Oban. But would love some of the Malt! I think there’s a distillery in Tobermory - will have to try there this week.
Ah yes that Lapwing. They call them Peewits, or the Latin name, Metallica Detectoruss. 🤣🤣

Mull sounds amazing! We have only ever visited the island once on a short day trip from oban, but we remember falling for it that day, it was like travelling back in time. One day, we will go back. In the meantime, enjoy every minute guys! And soak up that Scottish sunshine 🌞

Couldn’t work out what was happening at first Maria. As we walked out they were ploughing that field - seemed really late in the year. Then we saw the Lapwing 😨😨. I’ve never seen that before.
We’re lovin it up here so far. Going to Mull today and 🤞🤞 to see \ film Otters maybe even Eagles. 🤞🤞
