Hiking the West Highland Way in Scotland - May 2023 Adventure
Join me on my epic journey hiking the West Highland Way in Scotland, one of the most iconic long-distance trails in the UK. In May 2023, I set out on this unforgettable adventure with a friend, aiming to explore the breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, from the charming village of Milngavie to the stunning Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis.
This hiking trip was full of surprises as we found our paces were different - my friend preferred a slower pace, which led us to part ways after a few days. I continued the trek solo, pushing through the challenges and soaking in the beauty of the rugged terrain, vast lochs, and lush forests. It took me 5 days to complete the trail, while my friend finished at her own pace in 9 days.
Experience the raw beauty of Scotland with me as I navigate through the Scottish Highlands, face changing weather conditions, and take in the breathtaking views along the trail. From Loch Lomond to the Rannoch Moor, and the iconic Glencoe mountains, this hike was the perfect mix of adventure, self-discovery, and natural wonder.
    In this video, you'll see:
Detailed highlights of my hike on the West Highland Way
Tips for hiking the West Highland Way solo or with friends
What to expect on Scotland’s most famous long-distance hike
Spectacular views of the Highlands, including Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, and Ben Nevis
Whether you're a seasoned hiker, a solo adventurer, or simply love watching outdoor travel content, this video is for you. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more hiking adventures, travel tips, and inspiring stories!

Hi there. We live in Edinburgh. Next time you are over I suggest heading for the cairngorms. I don't hike at quite your AT level but I have enjoyed the extended Lairig Ghru from Blair atholl to aviemore.l (40 miles) You may enjoy a longer run on the Scottish national trail. Either way you will find the remoteness of the Cairngorms much quieter than the WHW. I have been putting off the WHW due to the busy nature. But I'm finally doing it next week just to stop the endless question as a walker here in Scotland.

It's the most enjoyable video. Brought back sp.mamy memories. You said you would be back next year. I suggest you take a look at The Devils Pulpit, a short distance off the WHW and The Lost Valley, which is stunning. It's a little further off the trail but an easy walk.

@7:55 - 8:55 yep, I go through that at the start of a (popular) hike. I don't even think I walk that fast, but always can see I'm catching someone. Did WHW a year ago and by far, for me, the most populous one I've done and fully aware I was part of the masses.

Try St Cuthbert's Way. 100-kms, starts Scottish Borders town and ends Lindisfarne (holy Island) off the coast of Northumberland, England. Lindisfarne is stunning. I am in training now before trying my first trail and got inspired to try a walking holiday when I visited holy Island last year. No idea what the walk is like and it doesn't seem to be a super popular route so couldn't find too much info... thats another reason why I though it would be good. Not too many people for me to embarrass myself infront of ;)
