I’m in Australia, I loved this game so much. Only one video store had it for rent and I’d pick it up all the time, I kept asking if they’d be willing to sell it to me but apparently it was popular. Vinnie was my favourite, felt so cool to twirl into the power slide. My brother loved Modo and his extra damage that let him just blow up the other racers. Weird thing though, the Australian version was clearly sponsored by snickers. The invincibility star was a snickers bar, the winners podium had a snickers logo, and when you won a race the character had a snickers bar saying “even winners need to satisfy their hunger”. Kind of obnoxious tbh, but the game was fun so oh well.
I used to be a Butterfinger man myself but then then they changed the formula. It's just not the same anymore. I'd go for a $100,000 myself now. This a fast little racer, it really moves for a system without blast processing not to mention it looks like it controls well to boot.
Konami did certainly get license crazy back in the 90s, seemingly picking up anything they could get their hands on with some rather random licenses like Bucky O'Hare, Zen the Intergalacitic Ninja, Biker Mice From Mars, and The Lone Ranger. What was so great is that Konami usually always handled each license with care, even if they were not a huge one like Turtles, The Simpsons, or Tiny Toons. They put as much quality into all their licenses as they did to their main games, which is why they were my favorite third party back in the day from the 8-Bit to 32-Bit days. (Capcom was a very close second.)
It's rather bizarre to think about, that it all started with the first TMNT game on NES being Konami's biggest success back then, considering the game's mixed reputation these days.
I don't know why, but I have memories of playing this game. I don't know when or where, but I played this and that shop screen is so vivid. About the only other thing I remember is never getting hang of the controls. Just remember being frustrated playing this. Was probably between 5-7 years old when I actually played it. Thanks for bringing back this memory.
Thanks to family/friends/neighbours, me and siblings got to experience almost every gaming console ever made. This one we rented from a video store for 2 days, WHILE borrowing a friend's SNES over a weekend. Great memory and awesome game!
My best friend growing up hated me (and this game lol) for that exact reason. We eventually compromised on banning Vinnie in VS Mode because whenever I rented this game, he'd roll his eyes and refuse to pick up the second the controller unless the Vinnie issue was addressed lol I was a beast with Vinnie.
@@AJR-zg2py the funny thing i was a Modo main, and my older brother won 7/10 in the main races. Once we established Rules for Vinnie and Modo, Throttle is actually the best character. I ve been undefeated with Throttle since like 2005 lol
I always thought it was funny his voice came from Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders, Beverly Hills 90210) Once i knew that i couldn't "unhear" it.. Coolest Mouse in my opinion!
@@Seiko180 it wasn’t really an attack though. It was better as a speed boost. I always played Vinnie. You didn’t get the kills, you just won the race. Modo was the demon with his charge that hit for two points…
When I first heard of this game, I assumed it was going to be an action game similar to TMNT IV: Turtles in Time. But it looks like a fun racing game 🙂
Super Nintendo was my favorite console. I played more games in SNES then most people Im sure. For me this one is the best in the system. It is like rock and roll racing combined with Mario kart. Just amazing.
The title in the thumbnail confused me : at first i thought it was a game with a similar title as Biker Mice from Mars(it says Biker Mike From Mars). Then i checked your description and i understand that it was actually a Biker Mice From Mars game. On the top of that, a combat-racing game. It’s a really good looking game.
Haha oh okay, you must clicked it just after I published the video! I saw that and fixed it almost immediately. I wonder what sort of game Biker Mike From Mars would be. Maybe a Toe Jam and Earl spin-off? :)
It would make sense. He was in the show. They got the original actors when they made the Bucky O'Hare arcade game, so they probably did here too if they weren't able to sample it cleanly from a episode.
Yet another excellent game from Konami. They did their mondo bodacious licenses good, dude. The beautiful visuals, rockin’ music and generally awesome atmosphere is irresistible. SNES games are just magical. Even though I’ve never played this, it makes me feel nostalgic!
So basically if you don't feel like using Modo and don't upgrade your armour to have more then 3 hit points Modo can just end your race if he feels like it? Since every time Modo hit you he took 3 points off your health.
I don't know how often you buy SNES games, but you might want to consider a flash cart. They pay for themselves in no time considering how pricey the carts can get, and while I can only speak to my experience with an SD2SNES, it's close enough that I can't tell the difference between a game running from it and running from an original cartridge.
@@NintendoComplete I've pretty much been collecting for almost 15 years, at this point with almost 1,300 games owned under my belt, it's a bit late for a flash cart haha.
They take a bit of getting used to since the sensitivity of the controls changes a lot depending on the character you pick, but they're pretty good overall.

This Biker Mice From Mars game for the Super NES, is a tie-in to the animated series of the same title, off of syndication in the mid 90's.
My childhood I spent it playing this game .😢😢

@@Sledgex3 It's not surprising in the slightest, though, since anything with the Ninja Turtles back then was a license to print money.
Contra 3 man

The rules with Vinnie is that you can’t use his jump to gain speed, only to attack. It makes the game fair.

Vinnie will always be the real Underdog of the series, imperfectly charming, and Imperfectly different yet creative. Or by his real name 'Vincent.'

Where is the snickers turbo?
Is there anything konami didn't get the license of? Not that I'm complaining.
Charles in Charge. I still want that game lol
Street Sharks
Modo was the most broken character in the game lol
Obviously. 2 damage vs 1 from everything else, with everyone having 3 hp.
there's a Modo in every game for beginners, like Lilong in Sould Edge
Vinnie was also busted, the speed boost you could get from his jump attack was straight up broken
