Have only gone through this masterpiece once, back when it first came out. Since then I have left the game alone, it's box still in pristine condition from the day I bought it till the day I pull it back out and try it again. Even had the Nintendo made guidebook for it, but a flood wiped it, along with a lot of Nintendo Power, some Sega Visions, EGM's, and Gamepro's out. I remember getting this from Toys 'R' Us on my birthday back in '94. Me and my friend would speedrun this game throughout the whole year & beyond, trying to beat each other's times for 100% completion. Those were some good gaming days. I just don't get the excitement for new games today than I did for this game. Also, the soundtrack and SFX are phenomenal and showcased the best that the Super NES could accomplish. This game is the definition of a classic.
I am just discovering it for the first time recently. I bought a SNES mini. I’ve been playing Killer Instinct, Super Mario 3 and World, and now this. It’s hard. Kraid keeps killing me.

Is the ruined tourian/ Metroid 1 tourian part of super Metroid tourian where you fight super mother brain or is it separate
When Samus gets the elevator to Lower Norfair and the music starts playing is the best part 🥹
At 48:20 i don't get how you make that jump so easy. I've been trying over and over and don't even come close
I Love the Metroid Series. This game is truly a Masterpice. I am so Exidet of Metroid Dread.
Me too!
1:21:03 how the hell do you do that super jump at an angle?
I remember finishing this metroid with 100% of the secrets found ... in that time I tried to do that again and could not, got 99% so I just forget that 1% XD
This game and Metroid Fusion along with the Metroid 1 Remake, Metroid Zero Mission have the best sprites and graphics.
Que SAUDADEEEEEEESSSS i miss the Super nintendo and the years 90 😢
2:25:05 Been playing this game for years and I did not know that you could do this. Wow...
This looks a 100 times better than the Metroid game on Switch.
I am having a 39:59 on this game, but i didn't want to upload my record to not make other runners feel bad...
The music is so awesome ❤ i love SNES sounds and music. Metroid is a masterpiece.
1:21:5 how do you fly horizontal?
PLS TELL ME HOW YOU DO JUMP AT 48:19, COZ I CANT , I NEVER REACH IT ,
Run with B and then jump. That way you get some extra speed when you jump.
I am just discovering it for the first time recently. I bought a SNES mini. I’ve been playing Killer Instinct, Super Mario 3 and World, and now this. It’s hard. Kraid keeps killing me.
▪️
I'm guessing you've beat the game by now though....
🟥
My SNES mini doesn't have SMB3 or KI on it. Are there different kinds?
the boss @ 2:25 is wild that trick sure did help lol!
1:00:06 OMG, after all these years, I had no idea that you could drop multiple bombs from holding the charge
Bro knew what he was doing when he put crocomire’s death as the thumbnail 💀
Who else remembers calling the Nintendo hotline with the game counselors helping. And then getting the Nintendo taken away by the patents bc of running up the phone bill. Lol
It’s kind of sad when the Metroid dies but you get the rainbow gun and it’s all worthwhile.
Tons of secrets and precise platform jumping that make this game a white-knuckle ride even for modern gamers who got sooo spoiled by analog sticks , , 😋😋👍
I really enjoy the decision to not destroy the thing that clears the tunnel for you. It was a nice piece of player expression.
Cool ass game, confusing as FUCK to navigate without a guide. This is a game that deserves a modern remake.
