Such an insanely nostalgic game for me, I love it to bits. Word of warning for anyone thinking about playing it: the password system is the ultimate beginner's trap and a massive middle finger to anyone who wants to actually beat this game. When you use a password you start that level with 200 water pistol ammo and NOTHING ELSE. (Kinda like Doom) You cannot win with raw skill, you will NEED every single bit of the arsenal you build up through the course of the game. A perfectly reasonable and acceptable way to play is actually just emulate the game and drop a save state between each level. Trust me, this is more or less the only way to enjoy this game when first starting out.
My friend and I would play this game in his grandparents’ basement. The basement was furnished but not well let and barely any sunlight would get through. To be frank this game would scare the shit out of me because of its great haunting music and atmosphere with creature sounds and moans and when the neighbors died it would scare me. The most trippy and scariest part of it all was the title scream with its Night of the Living Dead omage and the cover to the game itself too.
@@swejugfewknlfEIU292 super ghouls and ghosts isn't super difficult. Or at least it has very little bullshit in it. I think Titanic Toddler might be the scariest boss in this game. Not sure why a big ass baby fumbling around at mach speed scares me so much, but it does.
Well... maybe iconic and at least it is a really good game for the normal levels, cause bosses are just ridiculous strong with erratic moves. Literally the best way to beat the spider boss is being invincible and spam punches.

It's a hidden weapon that you can only get in 1 spot in the entire game, if I remember right. In one of the castle you have to go through a fireplace to find it but I dob't remember which level exactly
I love how weird some of the bosses were, like a giant baby, graboids from Tremors, a giant spider that throws baby formula at you, and a giant head that spits tongues.

Quite a bit late on this I know. First off, respect the work Shadowserg. Have enjoyed all the videos I've seen thus far. Secondly, for those who are unaware; Snakeoids have one big weakness - clown decoys. The decoys are practically guaranteed to keep them above ground with their 'licking' attack, giving you plenty of time to unload with whatever weapons you have available. Not everyone's got Shadowserg's bazooka skills, after all. lol Thirdly, weed wackers do a great job of cutting through the spider-mind's floor webs. Have not tested, but it may also prevent that section of floor from getting re-webbed. Just some interesting notes for folks.
I was a little kid playing this and remember the 3rd level music with the chainsaw dudes chasing you would always scare the shit out of me especially when they were on you they always seemed to go faster and the sound of the chainsaw too man. Love this game.
Wow man I do no hits like this all the time but you do it way different than how I do congratulations on doing this it's really amazing and takes lots of skill! 👍

How everyone else sees it: zombies ate my neighbors
How I see it: neighbors ate my zombies

There is no way in hell "Vlad Belmont" isn't a reference to Castlevania.
Konami definitely made both.
Konami published the game.

Which Spider Mastermind came first, this one or the one from Doom?
Guess we'll never know
zamn is from 93, it takes from horror movies (tarantula featuring a giant spider), not action games
Doom is from 1993 also
ZAMN- July 1993.
DOOM- December 1993.
