I'd still say the PS2 era was the golden age of video games (before the normalization of DLCs, releasing incomplete games, and games running at below 60 fps that the PS3 era interface introduced). But the 16-era would be a close second.

Awesome is an understatement....it was the golden age of gaming.. I can still pickup and play any of the top 10 in this list and have a blast...You cant say that about the n64 era lol those games did not age well.
SNES was and still My Best Console Of All Times. So much happiness !!!

Never played it ? Is it a turn based or real time? I cant seem to do the turn based stuff anymore
Christmas morning 1992 was one of the most AMAZING in my life. Getting the SUPER NINTENDO with the pack in Super Mario World AND A Link to the Past. Epic. I had no idea SNES had NHL 94' or Jungle Strike. But we absolutely loved them on SEGA. I was blessed to have both eventually, the next year getting the SEGA Fighting System with Streets of Rage 2. And my family wasn't rich. Well I suppose we were in a sense, someone else always has less.

I really like the layout. Seeing the box on the side really helps my weak eyes. Rock n' Roll Racing should be a lot higher than #72. It should have been in the top 50.

It's always a battle between Super Mario World, Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and Chrono Trigger. Shout outs to Final Fantasy VI as well

Super Metroid is still 1 for me...That intro to the game has really never been topped by any other game in history... When you first start that game there is NO way your putting it down with how that intro starts....There is no game in history that nails the atmosphere like that game its so alien, eerie, out of this world, the music is beyond amazing, gameplay is awesome, story is epic, bosses or larger than life, and that ending seals it all for eternity.
Chrono Trigger easily
Unirally/Uniracers at 98 hurts my soul. That game slapped and had soundtracks with undeniable heat!
Zelda a link to the past, my fav game ever, still play it to this day

Metal Warriors, for a game that made it's character's weapons go adorably "Pew, pew, pew!", it's a bloodlust inducing fun game.
Similar to picking Street Fighter 2 turbo, I would have gone NBA Jam TE. Glad to see Uniracers on there!
I bought my SNES on day one with money i saved by not buying lunch at school for almost the entire previous school year. When I tell you i instantly became the most popular kid in 8th grade. 😂😂😂😂 Those were the days man. Now at age 45 I'm still an active gamer but SNES still has the best console launch titles I've ever seen.

I remember the first time I seen final fight in an arcade. It was a far cry from the other games I played from 1980 and up. Action movies were in full swing, that arcade box took so many quarters from me 😂 on my list it is top ten for sure, that feeling of being able to play at home is unmatched
The SNES was an entire era and our generation had the most fun with games… some of us born in the 80’s still play games 😂😂
I’ve born in the 80’s too. I am a gamer all my life and I enjoy playing games on my ps5 and all the new stuff. But I still playing games from the 80’s and 90’s . They still gives me that feeling and the joy to play, like when I was a kid😄

Top 3 for me are between Mario World, DKC 2, Super Metroid
I still play a lot of these games on emulator sometimes. Everything pre Nintendo 64 or PS1 ports over nicely and can be played with a keyboard.
SNES WAS AND STILL IS A GREAT HOME CONSOLE.

@@The_Hobby_Playground I actually did..lol My first JRPG was actually suikoden, then FF7...Also FF tactics that was my fav turn based bc there was classes which made it really cool..Now that im older the turn based stuff is so slow and boring...

Super Techmo Football I felt should have made top 100. Definitely top 50. And number 2 game should've been Super Metroid. I definitely agree with Number 1

Then you have Illusion Gaia, Pocky and Rocky 2, and MegaMan X2 so low when those are all top 20 games easily. But then you put garbage soccer games and Eco the Dolphin on the list, this list is confusing

I bought an SNES Classic (mini) but I haven't played it very much because it's mostly RPG and platform games. No old school beat em up like Final Fight or Double Dragon. I like some of the platform games. I still can't go far in any Mario game (the old ones).
I beat Link to the past like 8 times. I love that game. Mario Kart tho. I didn't see it

82 is crazy, the hype for the game, the black cartridge, the music CD, and the graphics alone should easily put it a top 10.. some kinda bias going on here

Cool list, I obviously have a good amount of disagreements but this isn’t my list it’s yours so that doesn’t matter. I am surprised to see killer instinct so low on the list though, it’s a snes staple, there was a box variant for the game and it’s one of the best selling games on the console and also one of if not the best fighting games on the console.
Yes, Killer Instinct is easily a top 20 SNES game, if not top 10.

Some people just love RPGs and they usually hate fighting games 🤷♀️
Definitely not me
The only thing I hate about fighting games is their attempt at story telling. It's completely unnecessary for the genre and usually poorly executed. Other than that, fighting games were always pretty big for me back in the day.
