Damn, there has been so much high quality content. 2 parts of Fanalysis and a versus series collab in the same week. Really impressed, happy I subscribed.
"Force Spirits can't do that." Oh, 2018 Connor...you haven't yet faced the true horror of the dark side and its corrupting influence on Star Wars canon! Great series gentlemen and I would love to see you or the other Council members do this again for another game.
Would've liked to see a continuation to that first DLC. The final mission could have been Starkiller and Luke taking down Sidious, and Starkiller claiming the throne for himself while the Rebellion is destroyed in the background.
I would also say that by this point, Leia would've taken Luke's place in the story and trained with Yoda. So, much in the same way she was DS ending for TFUII (I'd also say that Yoda may have pulled himself together to come with her to deal with Luke and Starkiller... because she is not taking *both* of them on alone and walking away alive).
I think the reason Obi-wan was able to battle Starkiller as a force ghost is because he was fresh. It's not until after being a ghost for a little while that Obi-wan realizes that just being around darksiders is harmful. We only see him interact with Vader as a force ghost on (I think) two occasions. One short conversation in a comic and once to save Luke on Mimmban.
+Young BZ If you do that, Vader will go berserk and kick your ass. Zonakin is one thing. Zonakin on his hatred of sand is terrifying. Vader fueled by his hated of sand? He becomes powerful enough to stomp Sidious.
I know it's late but I hope you'll make a part 4 with the PS2 and Wii stuff. The two sith lords; while not having any real build-up are really interesting and the Bespin mission is also great with that Gungan bounty hunter. You also have the bonus mission on Endor instead of Hoth. It also has my favorite comedic moment with Marek's mind trick failing flat out with Lobot.
Something I prefer in the new canon is that the Jedi temple was made to be Sidious's imperial palace. Instead of having it's destroyed. It seems more in palpatine's character by using the Jedi temple as the sith master's home it insolts the Jedi even more
It was also explained in further material (included unreleased TCW episodes) that a Sith temple stood before the Jedi Temple, which would also kinda fit with what Darth Malgus did in the SWTOR cinematic.
Reti4 - I'm with Jen on this one. Let the temple rot in a forgotten corner of the city, a silent but clear example of what happens to those that oppose the Emperor.
Q&A for next Star Wars podcast: What do you guys think of the Jaina Solo and Darth Revan Black Series figures (fan choice winners from 2015 and 2016) REPLY
I think the main sentence the story group used while writing the sith edition was" ok how can f*ck up the original trilogy in the darkest way possible?"
Just watched all three parts back to back, it’s great to see this game is still getting so much love even after all these years. I can’t believe it’s 10 years old already. For me I thought it made a nice change to play as the bad guy with the option to become good or bad at the very end. Yes there was a gradual redemption within the story but you can still choose to be bad at the end of it. The entire project was a fantastic idea and Sam Witwer did a fantastic job portraying both the uncertain apprentice and the cruel megalomaniac emperor with such ease. There are a couple of issues though I hope someone can help me out with, both of which concern the prologue mission with Darth Vader. 1. When exactly does this battle take place? Is it before, during or after the events of Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader? As we know in that novel he is participating in a battle on Kashyyyk while hunting down a nest of Jedi on the planet. 2. If the battle of Kashyyyk takes place in 19 BBY, shouldn’t the Empire still be using some hardware from the former Grand Army of the Republic? I know the Imperial-class Star Destroyers were already being rolled out into active service by this time (both the Exactor and Executrix were the first of their kind to roll off the assembly line), but I assumed storm troopers were still wearing the phase II clone trooper armour and the iconic TIE fighters had not been designed as of yet at this point in the timeline. Despite how gimmicky it is, Starkiller’s use of the reverse grip variant of Shien will always be one of the coolest, and it speaks volumes about his character. The standard grip is for a standard Force user, but this guy *is* the Force Unleashed. Sorry Reti4, but I am pro reverse grip, not as a constant but as an option. Jensaarai1, you mentioned how much of a tank Starkiller is, and as I recall that is a title you have used for another character: Obi-Wan Kenobi. So now I must ask you: Obi-Wan Kenobi (the real Kenobi, from ROTS) versus Galen Marek (the secret apprentice), who would win and what reasons would you give for your verdict? P.S. if Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Galen Marek has already been done, then I apologise. Hope you guys cover The Force Unleashed II someday soon as well
+Fanalysis I love these videos and you guys do awesome with them. Btw I had a little gripe with something you said about the MCU I really don't think they "nailed the character work." I mean some of my favorite characters were nerfed like hulk he has been so damn inconsistent like the avengers movies he's beaten by so many people he has destroyed in comics
Reti4 - Sorry, should have been more specific. They've nailed the character work in-film. Not talking about power levels or exact comic accuracy. I just mean they've been doing a damn good job of bringing the MCU versions of the characters to life and keeping the core essence of the originals in mind (mostly).
I pretty much agree completely with you guys here, I still remember wanting this game so badly for my 16th birthday but I had to wait til Christmas since it got delayed (for the 3rd time). I remember initially being disappointed with it though because it wasn't immediately as flashy and destructive as I had thought it would be but what made me stick with it and ultimately love it in the end was how interesting and compelling the story ended up being. I didn't expect to care about that at all. I'll be interested to see what you guys think of TFU2 because while I think it's technically a well made game it's story PAILS in comparison to the first one. Vader especially feels really inconsistent and keeps doing things that contradict earlier actions. I also can't forgive how unbelievably short it is, the first game could be beaten in a weekend if you know what you're doing, the second could be beaten in a day! Graphically it looks a lot better, the soundtrack is just as good and the combat is vastly improved with the inclusion of dismemberments from lightsaber slices, to the introduction of the mind trick as a combative capability. But everything else including the writing, level design, character development, game length, and storytelling all just fall so flat and it's a shame because that game had the potential to be as good as the first and even surpass it.
this why a Love the EU and have come to hate the New God awful Star wars by Disney with Such a Burning Passion. Disney is bunching this once great Franchise until there is nothing left and they have milking the Saga Dry.
Reti4 - Reminder: It isn't Disney that's doing this. Disney give Kennedy and her Storygroup money and tell them to make movies. If Disney was the route of the insanity the Marvel Cinematic Universe wouldn't have consistently nailed their character work the way they have. Apart from anything else, can you really see the Disney execs leading the charge on Luke Skywalker trying to murder his sleeping nephew? I certainly can't.
+Fanalysis if movies continue to fall under expectations and get so much backlash like the last jedi do you think Disney may either step in or replace Kennedy at some point? I feel like at the very least someone like Dave Filoni should take over the creative side, can keep Kennedy she is a great producer just don't let her make creative decisions.
I think that the Ben Kenobi fight isn't the first time fighting force ghosts appeared in Star Wars Games, if I remember correctly, you can choose to provoke Ajunta Pall's spirit in his tomb on Korriban in KOTOR 1 which results in him attacking you.
I would have liked if you would have talked about the Wii version at the end since this video is so much shorter. Mention the Bespin mission and the the two sith lords of the jedi trails.
Hoth is the best DLC to Force Unleashed. Not a fan of the Stalker armor so I use my Anakin skin in my playthrough. The second Unleashed game however is as forgettable and bland as the “sequel trilogy”.
8:35 I didn't interpret it that way. I more felt it was Palpatine lambasting another failure. He failed with Anakin and now his plan to replace him failed as well and he has basically ended up replacing Vader with someone else who is not really an improvement in any way.
eh I don't know about that it does pretty well, yeah sure they don't mention him in the films but then again TCW with Ahsoka... and all the times Anakin and Dooku fought... and Obi Wan and Grievous... yeah...
Can't wait for the next game analysis! Here's to hoping that it's KOTOR! It'll probably take a 3 part series like _Darth_ _Plagueis_ with 2 1/2 hours in each segment at the very least.
8:58 While not exactly the same, something similar happened in a Canon Darth Vader comic series, set in Vader's first years as Palpatine's apprentice. Vader goes berserk when he learns about Padme's death, and proceeds to attack Sidious. Vader is then immediately subdued by Palpatine's lightning. Both Vader and Galen Marek (Sith Stalker) realize that they are bitches of Palpatine.
Damn, there has been so much high quality content. 2 parts of Fanalysis and a versus series collab in the same week. Really impressed, happy I subscribed.
Reti4 - Thanks very much. I'm glad you're enjoying our content.
It's always great seeing you guys discuss these topics. :)

StarKiller has no character but shouting

Starkiller as a Sand Person custom would be the ideal outfit to replay the Vader fight in.
Reti4 - He hates sand people. Not just the men, but the women and children too...
Yup even the Sand Apprentice in that case.
+Young BZ If you do that, Vader will go berserk and kick your ass. Zonakin is one thing. Zonakin on his hatred of sand is terrifying. Vader fueled by his hated of sand? He becomes powerful enough to stomp Sidious.
Gotta do it.

I love the Jedi Temple mission. I haven't played the Hoth and Tatooine DLC. When I go back to TFU I will get them
I really like these. I'd definitely like a Fanalysis on TFU2. Even if the game was kinda a let down.
Cool. Can't wait.
Really hope they get to Jedi Academy eventually.
Reti4 - Don't worry, we love that game. It's coming, just a matter of when.
Something I prefer in the new canon is that the Jedi temple was made to be Sidious's imperial palace. Instead of having it's destroyed. It seems more in palpatine's character by using the Jedi temple as the sith master's home it insolts the Jedi even more

The Den yep. I wish we saw that sith temple in TCW
Its kind of cool he uses the Jedi Temple as his palace in the New Canon.
Jensaarai1 I can see your point
Reti4 - I'm with Jen on this one. Let the temple rot in a forgotten corner of the city, a silent but clear example of what happens to those that oppose the Emperor.

"REPLY! REPLY!" - random Dalek
I think the main sentence the story group used while writing the sith edition was" ok how can f*ck up the original trilogy in the darkest way possible?"
It's called the sequel trilogy, but they couldn't do it in the OT era itself.

+Peter Parker All very true. But while I love my Drunken Kota skin to death, I do love those FU2 Costumes more.

And this game should have been canon !!!
Sith Stalker Screw Disney's canon
Why? The game doesn't allign with the movies whatsoever.
eh I don't know about that it does pretty well, yeah sure they don't mention him in the films but then again TCW with Ahsoka... and all the times Anakin and Dooku fought... and Obi Wan and Grievous... yeah...
It is in the EU timeline. Just follow that.
If you want it to be canon you don't need some studio to tel you it's canon! Just have your own head canon! My head canon has both the old and new EU
Can't wait for the next game analysis! Here's to hoping that it's KOTOR! It'll probably take a 3 part series like _Darth_ _Plagueis_ with 2 1/2 hours in each segment at the very least.
I feel like Palpatine would have had the Temple at least cleaned up enough ao it wouldn't smell like rotten flesh whenever he felt like visiting

8:24 I fully agree
I am still waiting for their review on the second game I am sure therea somethings in that fame the boys like (not alot but some)
Will there be a review of the Force Unleashed 2?
Reti4 - There will be, yes.
One of this is on Xbox 360 or it is and I have to go on higher levels
+Fanalysis i apologize my mistake I should have gotten the context better not your fault reti
