The tonex one with all of my pedals into a fender FR-12. It’s the best digital sound I’ve had so far. Next is to get another FR-12 for a stereo setup lol.
Hi Josh. I just found this. I am trying to find a direct to FOH and pedal board for home practice solution. I jam out every once in a while and they don't allow amps or the volume has to be really low and I'm looking at the IR2 as well as some other stuff like the POD Go, etc. I play clean and then mostly hi gain Gary Moore like stuff and your pedal board is cool. I just need two times basically. Kinda a just breaking up tone that I can clean up with my volume knob on my strat with EMG sa pickups and then a high gain sound for all other stuff. I'll use a micro pitch delay for dual delay in the loop and some small micro pitch for that Steve Vai tones. So anyway, your video came up. Very cool stuff man.. I will check out more of your videos to see what ya got man. Thanks sir.. ❤🤟
Thanks for stopping by! IR-2 is great...but check out some of my Tonex One vids. It's also a great solution and takes up less space on your board than the IR-2.
I did the same thing.. I started out with the UA Dream just before the IR-2 was released. I bought the IR-2 a couple months back and just recently built a small board. I start with Boss BP-1w, JOYO Vintage Phase, Boss TR-2 , Boss IR-2 and end with MXR Carbon Copy. It works out good... I may replace the Phase for a Chorus. I want to keep it at 5 pedals. I usually plug into the sound board, I've used may Katana 100w power amp input for the amp. What settings did you have the IR-2 set at...
I don’t think the FR10 will like your pedal board. Like the Powercab they expect a hefty input signal to work properly. I use a Helix Floor and an Iridium based pedalboard into a Powercab. The Iridium needs the input boosted by +12db (done on the Powercab) to get level with the Helix. Your IR2 might produce the tone but it will be at instrument level, not the required line level. I really hope I turn out to be wrong.
I just got the FR10 today. So far it's sounding good with my pedalboard. But I'm at bedroom volume right now. My next rehearsal will be the true test :)
Hey Josh, what made you pick 10 not 12? I think the weight difference is minimal, I'm waiting myself on my 12, so I'm curious on your decision driver..
The Strymon iridium has the opportunity to run one side without IR (to an amp) and the other with IR to the PA. I tried many active FR Cabs but in the end, a regular Speaker with a small poweramp (Orange pedal baby) was the best. In the end I went back to a regular Amp with an integrated IR Loader and I think it delivers the best af both worlds..
I have used just HX Stomp effects (drive, boost, delay, chorus) only (no preamp block) into my HR Deluxe and it sounds great. But a big part of what I’m trying to accomplish is a lighter weight rig that I can carry and load in with just one trip. My HR Deluxe is 45lbs…that with a couple of guitars and pedalboard isn’t the easiest to carry in one trip…maybe with a dolly yes…but then that’s one more thing so have to bring to a gig.
@JoshGordonGuitar you should try the preamps on infront of your clean channel. That way you have all that versatility and extra eq!! I use a parametric after the preamps. I'll have e the delays and things after the hx preamp, which sounds great. Idk.. it hard to beat real speakers but I understand. That was just my best sounding modeler solution
Hi ther it’s me agin I have a pod go also I’m doin what your doin with a pedalboard however.. My pod go is wireless I really like the unit on the pod go so what I did was add the pod go to the beginning off my pedalboard to use the wireless unit then you have added everything To your board really works great …so Pod go … 1/4 6 ft other side of mic stand into My pedalboard out to source …. You use the benefit s of the pod go Amps extra speakers Anything to enhance it Ok hope you get it … This is useful to you I’ve been watching you create patches for some time so thought I’d help out .. Oho one other thought boost after the pod go seems to work great .. done .. peace
Thanks for the advice :) But for me, I will either use just the POD Go or just my pedalboard. I bought the POD Go so that I wouldn't need any additional or external pedals and such. Yeah, I keep my rig as simple as can be. I don't need so many effect choices that I end up thinking more about effect switching instead of focusing on play the music :)
i have the headrush 108, it reveals the true results of what you put into it. I tried the headrush pedal board, yuck. now I've gone Friedman IR-D and the fender fr10. very happy, kept the headrush 108's for band fold back and they are great stage monitors. there's an out on the back of the fender fr10 that may work to go DI to desk, or maybe with the friedman, i may put a DI box on pedal board and send to desk and through to fender fr10
Good idea, but I don't want to buy another modeler. I'm just going to stick my the Line 6 gear I already have and the BOSS IR-2 and pedals I have. However, ya just never know...lol
I've watched some videos on the Tonex. Yes, sounds great but I just want to stick with the Line 6 gear and BOSS IR-2 pedal for now. This is getting expensive enough lol
Perfect timing. Ive been watching IR2 vids all days. I do amp on/cab off and go in front of my Amp1 and have fun with all my pedals.
Nice 🤘

The fender FR12 is 1000w and is LOUD!! I have a Boss IR-200...and it sound's great into the FR12 ..huge!!
I just got the FR10 delivered today. SO far it's sounding quite good with my new pedalboard and with the HX Stomp. Test videos to come :)

Nice set up. I have the IR-2 set to "CLEAN" and have the reverb set to Hall. Treble, Middle, and Bass hover around the mid point on the dial.

The FR10 is a little smaller and a couple of lbs less. I believe it's all I need to hear myself on a bar stage and simultaneously run into the PA.

Sounds like a good rig
Have you tried hx preamps infront of your clean deluxe? You can put effects after the preamp and man..thats been my solution.

I use th IR-2 with the cab off into an EHX magnum 44 into a cab, 4x12.
That sounds like an interesting set up!
The FR10 will sound great with that board
So far it sure does! :)

Try the boss ir200 LOL keep after that tone have fun
It's a never ending tone quest for me lol
Not a bad idea here....but for a better sound and much better response why not try a HX stomp and a tone x....just a idea 👍🏻💯
Good idea, but I don't want to buy another modeler. I'm just going to stick my the Line 6 gear I already have and the BOSS IR-2 and pedals I have. However, ya just never know...lol
@JoshGordonGuitar a tone x one is small and only 179 just saying with thousands of amp clones available
Try a Tonex for amp sims...you'll be impressed
I've watched some videos on the Tonex. Yes, sounds great but I just want to stick with the Line 6 gear and BOSS IR-2 pedal for now. This is getting expensive enough lol
I record with my IR-200 direct all the time too...keep chasing..its in the fingers really
I'll probably never stop tone chasing lol
Riverside in the thumbnail.......
Not in the video.
It's just a picture of an old pedalboard I made. This video isn't about the Strymon Riverside anyway :)
@@JoshGordonGuitar I was hoping to see it in that context....
